Not better than the Jabra Elite 85H

The M4 noise canceling really is not up to par with my last set of headphones. If you're in a vehicle and a semi passes or the wind blows they make a weird buffering sound, like the drivers are bottoming out and it really ruins the experience especially for $100 more than what I paid for my last set of headphones (85H). I already returned these and bought the M5 thinking that the extra price hike would make a difference. It doesn't, (I mostly listen to podcast) between the 2 the noise cancelation on the Sony M4s we're by far worst and the M5s we're better. I could not tell the difference in sound quality, between these and M5 (I mostly listen to podcast) between the 3 the noise cancelation on the Sony 4s we're by far the worst and the 5s we're the best but not worth extra money. I'd rather pay nearly $500 for H85 versus the Sony M5 so I will be looking to Sennheiser.

We regret to hear that you were not satisfied with the WH1000XM4. Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. For optimum performance, it is recommended to install the latest software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app).
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off. Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient. With the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, check the setting of [Ambient Sound Control]. If it is set to [Wind Noise Reduction] or [Ambient Sound], the effect of noise canceling is reduced. Set it to the noise canceling mode.

Great sound cancelling, terrible beat buy warranty

Had the warranty with beat buy that was $90 on a $350 headphone set. They would swap it out but wanted another $90 for a new warranty. What a bad warranty, makes me not want to shop at beat buy anymore, certainly won’t be using their warranty. They know it’s junk and price accordingly. Had to purchase their with the money I got back but will avoid after that

The noise canceling is amazing don’t get me wrong, however; it’s not out of this world. I also found these headphones lacking bass. Overall, I don’t think it’s a major upgrade from the previous WH-1000XM3’s, unless you really need and love the extra new features I don’t see a necessary reason to upgrade. Older headphones like Bose QC35 ll and XM3’s do the job merely the same and they are cheaper.

The audio upscaling is nice but overall volume was way too low even after extensive EQ adjustments. No way these are worth $300! My pair of $80 700Ns are better so I sent these back the same day they arrived
