    Noise cancelling isn’t as good as they hype it up to be. While better then the AirPods Pro’s and Bose Qc Earbuds I just don’t think you should justify 350+ on these. You can find better.

If you haven't yet, please follow the instructions below and see if it resolves the problem:

      • Make sure that the noise cancelling function is turned on.
      • Adjust the headset into a comfortable position.
      • The noise canceling function is effective in low-frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies.
      • Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off.
      - Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.

    Bad call quality

    These excel at noise canceling but not at call quality on teams and zoom, the people on the other end couldn't hear me and neither could i hear them.

    Headphones were great, but after about 6 months, the right side stopped working. Seems to be a loose wire. Very disappointed considering the cost.

      Resetting and initializing the headset may also help resolve the issue:

      Resetting the headset
      -Press both the (power) button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously while charging. The headset will be reset. The device registration (pairing) information is not deleted.

      If the headset does not operate correctly even after resetting, initialize the headset to restore factory settings.

      Initializing the headset
      -Turn off the headset while the USB Type-C cable is disconnected and then press and hold the (power) button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously for 7 seconds or more. The indicator (blue) flashes 4 times, and the headset is initialized. This operation resets volume settings, etc. to the factory settings, and deletes all pairing information. In this case, delete the pairing information for the headset from the device and then pair them again.

      The unit comes with a 1-year manufacturer's limited warranty. If still not resolved or you need further assistance, please email the below information to socialsupport@am.sony.com.

    Amazing Headphones, but after just a little under a year of use the bluetooth stopped working. the only thing that works now is the six feature of the headphones

    Buyer Beware - Shipt Delivery Fraud

    Ordered this product online for holiday gift. Upon opening realized I had received the wrong product, and also had someone else's Shipt sticker attached. Store refused to assist with return due to online order. I have been begging for a refund for months now. Have had to return the fraudulent item twice, multiple calls and chats with customer service and still no refund or resolution. Will NEVER purchase from Best Buy again - online or in store. Absolutely ridiculous circle of frustration. And I'm probably looking at eating the cost of this item because of it.

    Broke after less than two months

    It seems like ita a common issue tbat the hinge will completely snapoff and the wire is just hanging i havent dropped ita at all always put it in the case and just overall gentle and i went to take them off and snapped off its so sad cuz the bass is so good but this shouldn’t happen with 300$ HEADPHONES

    Avoid At All Costs: Too "Smart" for Their Own Good

    Bought these to use in work meetings and phone calls and am sorely disappointed. Unreliable connection to multiple devices, mystical magical "features" like gesture support that inadvertently disconnect your calls, and a mobile app that causes the headphones to disregard your preferences...but somehow demands that you *disconnect* your headset in order to update the headset software. I expect much better from Sony.

    BEST BUY OR SONY FIND A SOLUTION FOR ME

    The first moment I tried these headphones, one side didn't work. After several minutes, I dunno why it started to work, so I didn't take it this problem seriously. Two or three weeks later, it happened again, but this time it didn't get fixed and it is still broken until now. If I didn't ask for a refund, it's due to this happened when I had already returned to my country since I bought them during my last month of my holidays in the US. I'm not kidding, these headphones didn't even last a month. I wasted almost 300 dollars for nothing. Now, why am I writing this now? Sometimes this whole situation comes to my mind and it is really frustraring not to doBy the way, these hearing aids arrived on March 14, my flight to Peru was on March 27 and they stopped working before April 3. I also have evidence showing the date these hearing aids stopped working, just in case. So, why am I writing this after months? Sometimes this whole situation comes back to my mind and it's really frustrating not being able to do anything from outside the United States. Anyway, I wanted to vent and also demand that someone from Best Buy or Sony fix this. I'm going to travel to the US again in January next year, so you still have time to think. There are no excuses.

      We're so sorry to hear the WH-1000XM4s haven't been comfortable for your daughter. It’s definitely a letdown when a gift doesn’t feel right and we really appreciate you letting us know.

      You might be able to help the headphones relax a little by gently stretching them over a few books or even the headphone box overnight. This can help loosen the tension in the headband so they don't press quite so hard against her ears. You could also try extending the sliders a bit further than you think she needs, as that can sometimes shift the pressure to a more comfortable spot.

      We're glad that you like the sound quality and app functions of the headphones. It's unfortunate that you had to return it because of connectivity issues. Having the latest software version will provide optimum performance to the headphones. These steps might have also improved your experience:

      -Set the headset to “Priority on stable connection” mode (using the Sony Headphones Connect app).

      -Bluetooth communications may be disabled, or noise or audio dropout may occur under the following conditions:
      a. When there is a human body between the headset and the Bluetooth device.
      In this case, put the Bluetooth device in the same direction as the antenna of the headset to improve the Bluetooth communications.
      b. There is an obstacle, such as metal or a wall, between the headset and the Bluetooth device.
      c. In places with wireless LAN, where a microwave oven is used, electromagnetic waves are generated, etc.

      -Because Bluetooth devices and wireless LAN (IEEE802.11b/g/n) use the same frequency band (2.4 GHz), microwave interference may occur and result in noise, audio dropouts, or communications being disabled if this headset is used near a wireless LAN device. In such a case, perform the following steps:
      a. When connecting the headset to a Bluetooth device, use the headset at least 10 m (30 feet) away from the wireless LAN device.
      b. If this headset is used within 10 m (30 feet) of a wireless LAN device, turn off the wireless LAN device.
      c. Use this headset and the Bluetooth device as near to each other as possible.

      -If you are enjoying music with your smartphone, the situation may be improved by shutting down unnecessary apps or restarting your smartphone.

      -Connect the headset and the Bluetooth device once again.

    Order never arrived and I was lied to about a refu

    They told me the order arrived and when I checked there was no package on my porch, I asked my neighbors checked everywhere and it was no where to be found. I then contacted customer support and was told I’d receive a refund. Then 2 weeks later I checked when the refund would be coming and they told me they were no longer sending it. At this time I had left the country for work and now have no means to figure out what happened to my package. Horrible service and I’m mostly angry that I was lied to about the refund which delayed my action until it was too late

    Stopped working after 5 months!

    I purchased a pair Bose QuietComfort headphones back ~2015. I never had an issue with them. I decided to upgrade headphones now that bluetooth is an option, and noise-cancelling has improved over the years. I purchased the xm4 headphones, and after 5 months I heard a loud high pitch sound coming from one of the headphones and now it stopped charging, all in the same day. Seems like a common problem from other reviews. I will never buy Sony headphones ever again, and will just go back to Bose. Don't buy these headphones if you want reliable, durable, long lasting headphones.

    Sync issues
