Great set of headphones. It's everything I've ever wanted but couldn't talk myself into getting. I finally decided to splurge on myself and boy am I glad I did. Noise canceling, comfort, and sound are all fantastic, while the battery is spectacular. I was iffy on the touch controls but they are super easy, work exceptionally well, and are are simple to use. Absolutely love them.

To set context, these are my first pair of Over the Ear headphones. Normally I use in ear for working out and moving around. I bought these on a whim at a great price and I don't even begin to second guess the cost. I'm not an audiophile, for me these headphones are crisp and clear, the bass is solid and I haven't been able to compare the noise cancellation. My favorite feature is being able to connect to two devices, being home and being able to put these on and still get messages from my phone or doorbell is awesome! I have received good feedback from people who I talk to on the phone - a huge plus!! For someone who likes music, and can wear these (comfortably) for hours at a time - one of the best purchases for 2020. I'm still using the in-ear for workouts, but these for everything else. Buy them on sale and don't spend the money for anything more expensive - just pick a color. I bought silver thinking it is different, and since they are on my head I don't care - but when I look at them on the stand - I wished I would have picked the dark blue. These are everything positive that other reviewers have mentioned. Other items such as quality are on point and no issues, I haven't had a chance to run out the battery - but appreciate they are USB-C, so I can use the same charger as my other equipment. Buy them!

Tried on many OTE headphones and these were the most comfortable. When they went on sale I pulled the trigger and got them. Sound quality and battery life is fantastic.

Got these headphones about a month ago and they have been great. Battery life is a strong point as well comfort and all the different configuration options just confirm these are top of the line. Sound quality is also outstanding. Got them in blue (only on Best Buy) and they price matched them almost no questions asked. Couldn't be happier with the product and the store.

Had the first gen Sony ear headphones from years ago but wow they have come a LONG way. These things have incredible base, crisp sound, a great app that allows you to customize sound and control settings as well as are super comfortable. Lastly noise cancelling is out of this world and invaluable for flying.

Great sound, good battery life, noise canceling is up there with the best of the best. Found them on sale for $178. These XM4’s sound considerably better than 90% of the headphones in this price range. I can comfortably wear these for hours on end. If you value sound quality, noise canceling, battery life, and comfort you cannot go wrong with these headphones.

Great sound and easily adjustable EQ through the Sony Headphones app. Just used it on a several flights and barely even hears the engines from the plane. Very comfortable (4 hour flights) and holds charge well.

I have been looking for headphones I can wear for a couple hours on a plane with comfort. These are solidly around not on the ear. They sound superb with great bass and clarity up high. They support two BT device connections at one time. When you use only one connection it has 360 Reality audio and supports spatial audio from Amazon music and Tidal. It actually is optimized for Tidal's phone app. It measures your ears and outside atmospheric pressure and optimized noise cancelling. The noise cancelling really works well. It also works with Google Assistant and Alexa. Pretty feature packed.

I purchase these headphones wanting the spatial audio feature. These as told by the Best Buy geek squad has 360 audio and not spatial audio and they are not the same thing. These headphones seem to focus more on the noise cancellation which work’s absolutely fantastic they muffle so much noise even before you ever even turn on the noise cancellation function. But again that isn’t why I had bought them. The 360 audio only work with 7 different music apps that they recommend to you and (it might work with more was too frustrated to look into all of what other apps, but it has you picking from the 7) which you have to actually pay for a subscription so if your trying to get these headphones for the spatial audio feature go with beats instead. In conclusion they are wonderful if noise cancellations is what you are looking for but do not provide the spatial audio AND.. they give you this short little baby sized cord to charge your headphones with I used my remote as reference but like come on it’s not even a foot long

Sound quality is great. The noise cancellation is not quite as good as my Bose QC35IIs, but the sound quality is better and makes up for it. The touch controls work flawlessly. They’re also very comfortable and I’m getting about 25 hours of use with noise cancellation before having to recharge. I’m happy with them.

I bought these headphones to block out noise while studying. They do a great job and blocking out most noise. If it isn't too loud I can use them without music and block out all noise with just the noise canceling on. If people are close to me talking I will put on some low volume music and that does the trick. You can also just hold your hand up to your right ear piece or just begin talking to temporarily pull in ambient sound. It actually listens to your surroundings and plays it in your headphones, so it doesn't sound muffled and there is no need to remove your headphones just to have a quick conversation. Quality is great as well as sound quality. I have never measured tye battery length, but i regularly use them for long days of studying for multiple days without charging them. They can be charged while wearing them though, so you are set either way. They do have dome 360 surround sound feature, that sounded really great in the demo. Just know that it only works with certain apps that I had never heard of before. I use spotify and it is not compatible. Hopefully it will be someday, but i am perfectly happy qith the sounds quality as is.

I had been an ear bud user for years, but decided to make the switch to over the ear headphones. There's so many options so I've been going back and forth between the XM4, XM5, and Airpod Max. Finally settled on the XM4! I really like it for the folding mechanism and how compact/easy to carry while traveling! The audio is super nice! I'm sandwiched between noisy upstairs and downstairs neighbors, so I can barely hear them with the headphones on. It's also comfortable around my ears/head. I don't feel too much pressure or get headaches when I have them on for an extended period. Overall, a great pair of headphones! Happy to have snagged this on sale too!

I purchased this specific model based upon a friend's recommendation. He and his brother-in-law swear by them. The goal was to purchase headphones to enjoy hands free operations while on Zoom calls for work. This was a splurge purchase as I did not initially intend to buy high-end headphones. But since I did, I'm very happy that I took advantage of post-Thanksgiving Day sale prices!! :) The headphones are incredibly comfortable. I enjoy listening to YouTube videos and making calls using the Blu-tooth feature. It was so much fun walking around my living room talking to someone while not having to hold a phone!! At some point, I'll return to the office and that's where I'll fully utilize the noise cancelling features. The App is easy to use and the provided instructions are easy to understand. There is also the extra benefit of many useful YouTube tutorials for these headphones. In conclusion, I'm happy using the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones for Zoom calls and regular phone calls. PS - I chose Midnight Blue because the color reminds me of one of my favorite songs sharing the same name! :)

Bought these for $159 when Sony began to clear them out on black friday. Glad I got them at this great price. I also bought the bose quiet comfort headphones, and I have to admit the Sonys sound quality is MUCH better (I returned the bose). Noise canceling is very good, I'm still working with the Sony app equalizer as well as my Samsung music app equalizer, but am overall happy with the sound quality. Have not noticed much (any?) distortion.

The sound quality and noise-cancelling are fantastic. These are also so comfortable that sometimes I fall asleep with them on while listening to music, meditation, or audiobooks at night when I am having trouble sleeping. But, I mostly use these whenever I fly to calm my nerves. The ONLY 2 negatives of these are: 1. You can't charge them and use them at the same time. (But, if you charge them prior to using, they can be used for several hours.) 2. When you connect to multiple devices (I think two devices is the max) there are a lot of "connected/disconnected" messages. So, it's best to just connect to one device at a time.

I have been wanting these headphones for a while and finally picked up a pair. I have been reading reviews online pitting these headphones against the Bose QC35II and the Bose 700. Headphones are so subjective in taste; bass response, sound-field, musicality, timbre and many more ways headphones are evaluated. These headphones really work well for me. I recently used my headphones on a trip and these worked phenomenally on the airplane. The headphones also connected to my smart TV via Bluetooth for late night quiet viewing. These are very lightweight and the ANC is great. These are part of a team of headphones in our home and due to cost, I am very protective of these. I own two pairs of JBL’s and a pair of Beats Studio 3’s that are daily cans. I am still getting used to the app and the different eq settings. I was able to get these on sale which was another plus. I am fully satisfied with my purchase!

Great Headphones very comfortable sound quality is good. noise canceling is excellence especially during a long flight I did hear anything. sony app is a little tricky to use at first but works well watching youtube first is best. battery life is great nonstop play for a few days before I had to recharge them
