Amazing ANC and Incredible Sound

If you are looking at the XM4s or even the XM3s, you already know that they have set the bar for ANC. When you put these on, you just hear all that background noise woosh away putting you into silence. I've had other headphones from Anker SoundCore, to Cowin to some weird Chinese brands from Amazon and nothing comes close to the level of ANC that Sony can produce. It is truly incredible. Playing around with the Sony app(s), I stumbled upon the 360 sound demo and I was not expecting it to work as well as it did. Then I found some of the 360 / 3D / 8D videos on YouTube and it is awesome. Goofy ones like the Tucker Zone that will make you turn your head because you could swear someone was behind you knocking on a door, to songs remastered in a way that is like 5.1 and goes beyond your typical stereo effect. I can't believe I waited so long to purchases these, but I am so glad I finally did.

But not $200 better. The xm4 are also more comfortable for big heads like me, along with big ears. You can get these on a great deal (usually $250), which I am extremely happy with.

Great over the ear

I looked around, read reviews and and tried on several pairs. It ultimately came down that I need to purchase them, take them home and try them. I decided that I would buy the Sony flagship headphone. So far they have worked out wonderful. The sound is great and the lack of outside sound is awesome too. They do not block out sound like in the year versions, but they also do not kill your ear during long term listening sessions. I am still trying to get use to the controls but that is just using them more. I do like the ability to put up the ear and bam you can hear people without taking them off. The one thing I did not like, was the fact that Best Buy was all out of the black ones... I also did not want to to wait a couple of days to get a black version or I could have gone another route... but that is a very small issue.

Expensive because they are fantastic. All the great reviews are true, I won’t repeat it all, but I will mention a couple of small complaints, but I still love these headphones. 1) My hair isn’t what you would call long, but these things tend to pluck a hair out every time I take them off. It has gotten less so as I have become more careful but the reason for this is also problem 2 2) Sony always makes these foldable headphones. I couldn’t care less that they fold, and I don’t care or need a cute little case they fold into. I just put them in my backpack anyway, and I get the feeling Sony puts all this r and d into this stupid folding feature. Unnecessary moving parts make them feel cheap and wiggly, and pinch my hair out, and I bet I’m paying more for this annoyance. They are built to last, but I don’t think I am alone in NOT GIVING A CRAP that they FOLD UP. 3) The charging cable is like three inches long...

Great Travel Headphones

I bought for my son fort travel since he flies all over the US. Long battery life, fast charging, comfortable and a few cool features that Bose doesn’t Offer. I have had Sony, Bose, Beats, and The AirPod Pros and the Sony and Bose are by far superior.

It's comfortable for long periods of time, the jack/cable are high quality construction and the headphones themselves are of "sound" quality. I highly recommend this product!

I'm a bit of a headphone hoarder and have way too many pairs given that I only have 2 ears. The sound on these rivals the AirPods Max, for a much lower price (about half at the time of this review). The noise cancelation is amazing, the sound quality stunning, and the best part - they fold up, unlike their expensive competition. If I'm going on a trip and space is at a premium, I'm choosing these over the AirPods Max. For me, I can't really even tell a difference in sound. I wanted to buy the xm5 for myself, but honestly I can't justify it as mine still work perfectly.

They sound amazing, the ambient noise option is good if you're walking around outside so you're aware of any traffic or people nearby. I use the noise-canceling when I travel to block out any outside noise. Charges quickly and the battery lasts forever.

Stellar headphones for noise cancelling

I needed a pair of noise cancelling headphones and these didn't disappoint. There are 3 noise cancelling settings, and I've found the off setting still drowns out enough noise. The max setting it boots with each time is wayyy too strong for my taste and it's a weird sensation having no noise at all thanks to the noise cancelling tech. Anyone who needs zero noise will definitely appreciate that though! The headphones themselves feel premium, and the case is wonderful! Very easy to take on trips. Audio itself is just good, but given all the features and quality of the headphones, that is fine with me in this case. I would recommend these to anyone looking for over-ear noise cancelling.
