Not better than the Jabra Elite 85H

The M4 noise canceling really is not up to par with my last set of headphones. If you're in a vehicle and a semi passes or the wind blows they make a weird buffering sound, like the drivers are bottoming out and it really ruins the experience especially for $100 more than what I paid for my last set of headphones (85H). I already returned these and bought the M5 thinking that the extra price hike would make a difference. It doesn't, (I mostly listen to podcast) between the 2 the noise cancelation on the Sony M4s we're by far worst and the M5s we're better. I could not tell the difference in sound quality, between these and M5 (I mostly listen to podcast) between the 3 the noise cancelation on the Sony 4s we're by far the worst and the 5s we're the best but not worth extra money. I'd rather pay nearly $500 for H85 versus the Sony M5 so I will be looking to Sennheiser.

We regret to hear that you were not satisfied with the WH1000XM4. Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. For optimum performance, it is recommended to install the latest software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app).
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off. Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient. With the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, check the setting of [Ambient Sound Control]. If it is set to [Wind Noise Reduction] or [Ambient Sound], the effect of noise canceling is reduced. Set it to the noise canceling mode.
You may also use these steps for your WH1000XM5 if the noise canceling function if not sufficient. Additional information and troubleshooting steps can also be found on this link:

Constantly Disconnecting, did all the updates and resets. Still Liddell not work. Took em back and got these. There is simply no comparison. But if you are in college trying to use them to drown out voices you'll be a little disappointed. I still like them for helping me "zone in" better, and I know it's almost impossible to drown out voices due to the frequency. I was just hoping for more for the price. Also they are kind of heavy, so it might take a while for your head to get used to it. I had a sore spot on the top of my head from the weight after a couple days use.
