Best Noise cancellation

They have all been great quality. These are no exception. I usually buy the earbuds or smaller but needed something for a long plane trip and got these. The cool part also is the app that goes with th allows you to attenuate the noise cancellation. Letting in a percentage of sound around in. Worth the price. You won’t be sad you got them.

Best ANC headphones for the price

Same great headphone as its predecessor

It sounds just as great as the XM3s and the NC, IMO, seems better. The option to pair with two devices at the same time is useful though I would prefer if we could do more devices (I regularly switch between multiple devices and pairing again and again is a bit annoying when I exceed the limit). Unfortunately, that is really all that is new in this headphone, IMO. The speak-to-chat feature is annoying and I ended up turning it off. Battery life is the same. There is an addition of a sensor to the left cup to pause media when the cans are taken off. I find it hard to award this headphone 5 or 4 stars since there is hardly anything new except the option to pair with two devices simultaneously and the minor ANC improvements.

Great Headphones

They have awesome noise cancelation and are very comfortable. Just like any over-ear headphone, they can get hot and sweaty if wearing them outside in the sun, but perfect for inside home or office use. App also lets you fine-tune to your own sound profile

The audio quality out of the box is crazy good and I only had to tweak the EQ a tiny bit to get the bass exactly where I wanted it. The muffs do get a little hot after a while and can make my ears sweaty but I usually don't end up using them that long except on flights.

Calls are very clear at both ends. The iOS app that I use to control many of the features is very easy to use as well. Recommended!

Pricey but worth it

I use it to listen to recorded lectures as well as music when studying. I guess the only con I have is that I still can’t figure out how to connect it to both my laptop and iPhone and be able to make an easy transition from either devices.

4 is better than 3

I nearly wore them out after 4 years of use and would still have them if they weren't stolen. The WH-1000XM4 are better in everyway. My old XM3 would let noise in even in noise cancelling mode. When I wear the XM4 I can't hear doors open or close or my pets. I can't hear outside noise like I could with my old headphones. This is a bonus for stuff like flights. It's terrifying when I'm at home. I don't use these at home because I can't hear anything outside the headphones. I went with the XM4 over the XM5 because I feel like the headband is sturdier and would fit my 63 cm circumference head.

Not a keeper for me

Was using AirPods Pro which work very well but sometimes bugs my ears. Back to the Sony headphones… Sound is pretty good, not great. Seems to have some crackle at times. Could be the Bluetooth connection which is also why I’m returning them. They have a really hard time staying connected to our LG OLED C2 which hasn’t been a problem for the AirPods or other buds. Too frustrating. Purchased Bose QC Ultras to try instead. Much more money of course but way better sound and no more connection problems.
