Was on a plane using them and I could not hear the sound of the plane. A little expensive but these headphones are amazing so worth the price. I can tell they will last years. Already lasted a year and a half at this point.

Awesome noise cancelling, good sound, cool design

Sound is very good also. Tested on Linux, Windows, iPhone and Android. I found only one issue: they have some problems in videogaming with voice chat via Bluetooth (for gaming you need to use separate mike with this headsets connected via cable to keep sound quality and be able to voice chat). Despite this little issue I still very happy to have one.

We value your opinion and appreciate your feedback regarding the mic compatibility of this WH-1000XM4 on video gaming applications. These headphones are designed for music playback. We cannot guarantee that it will work flawlessly with computer applications. Additionally, the mic function is also disabled when using the supplied headphones cable. Check if your device supports both HFP and HSP, when you make a video call/voice chat on your computer, select calling connections (HFP/HSP) and not music playback connections (A2DP). If you select music playback connections, the microphone/voice chat may not be available. Please note that you will notice a bit of quality difference.

I travel from time to time so this is more convenient. Noise cancellation is very good.

Easy to connect with any device, I like using it for my switch and phone. Noise-canceling works well and has long battery life. I wish it were easier to change settings in IOS like with AirPods and to change settings in the control center, but that is more of an Apple issue rather than a headphone issue.

Sony M4 - I love them.

I had an M4 for 2.5 years, they were my first ever wireless, Bluetooth, and noise canceling headphones. I broke them accidentally after getting them soaked while I was kayaking, my fault, not the headphones’. Knowing that the M5’s just came out, I did my research and the M4’s are still just as good. So I have spent lots of money on the same pair twice and have no regrets. Another reason I love my headphones. In my attached pic is me in the far background while my wife is holding my phone. That’s about 70ft at least and the connection is still solid. I have had my headphones on my front porch and be mowing in the backyard with the house in between and still have connection. Also, I got these headphones from Best Buy and it got delivered early! Love the headphones and had a great buying experience as well. And I have a big head and they fit perfectly.

Beware of cheap plastic and terrible support.

A long battery life and fast recharging, the noise cancelling is exceptional as is the sound quality. My issues begin with simply taking them off my head after a meeting and hearing two parts hit the ground. The plastic and u clip holding the right ear cup was now on the floor and the earpiece was dangling via the wire, floppy and dead like the brick they had become. I contacted support and was told that they won’t replace them because of "physical damage" These headphones have never been dropped, miss treated in any way, they are treated with the respect that spending 350 bucks should have earned them. I won’t be buying anymore Sony headphones and I certainly regret recommending them to colleagues.

Great sound - unbearable for larger ears

Add to that the highly customizable settings in the app (EQ etc) and these make for an amazing pair of headphones. I won't comment much on ANC since I was not able to fully test them objectively, but subjectively they were just as good as others I have tried (B&W PX7, Bose NC 700, Sony XB900N). However, the reason I give this 1 star is for fit. They have used the same outer shell as older models (which is fine) but the placement of the magnet in the middle makes these unbearable after 40-45 mins. The magnet protrudes out in the middle which is just enough to push against my ear. I can't imagine how people with larger/protruding ears use them. There must be a reason for that placement, but the XB900N work just fine with a different design. Please consider this in your future design Sony - I have used the XB950BT, XB900N and love the sound quality but need the design to be more robust to include users outside the average individual.

Make sure to adjust the headband of the headphones for optimum fit and comfort. The headset must also be worn properly. Put the headset on your head with the (left) mark on your left ear and the (right) mark on your right ear. There is a tactile dot on the (left) mark side. Sony takes all feedback seriously. Great on the airplane!

Used it on my flight to Hawaii. Sound was balanced. Noise cancelling was excellent! It effectively cancelled out the drone from the jet engines. You can also plug it into the planes entertainment system with the included cable and the noise canceling works on that too!

Amazing battery life.

If you take the headphone off it pauses the movie. The noise cancelling is not as good as Bose but a slight increase of volume compensates. Battery life is phenomenal, yes 3-4 movies easy before charge necessary. Recharges swiftly too.
