If you are experiencing excessive noise bleed-through, ensure the Noise Cancelling function is fully enabled and optimized via the Sony | Headphones Connect app, or try adjusting the earcups for a tighter seal.

Great all around heaphones

Great sound and fit. Love that they fold down so easily and are very portable with the case. Incredible battery life. Easy to control and charge. The only downside really is that after a few hours I do start to feel that they start to hurt due to them squeezing my head a bit.

A no brainer for apartment living.

Blocks out neighbors sound systems and noise. Good but not great

The noise cacnellation is good, yet the software could be better. While using on an airplane recently I could still hear the rumble/mumble of voice in the background, even though I checked all the settings and they were as they should have been. Like I said good, just not great.

Make sure to update the software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance. We appreciate your feedback regarding the noise cancellation of this XM4. The noise canceling function works primarily on noise in the low frequency band. Although noise is reduced, it is not completely canceled. Adjust the earpad position to fit your ears. In additional to checking all the settings, check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.

Noise Cancelling Headsets

I bought them for the noise cancelling effect, which has been working great so far. After I have been able to connect them to my older TV's and Tablet, I have this,wonderful surround sound effect. Even though I did not plan buying headsets,that pricey, it definitely was a good investment. Highly recommended.
