Noise canceling at best

Comes with a free few month subscription to tidal for master recordings of songs. It sounds extremely good and battery is good. Very expensive so look for sales around 280.

Great and Not so Much

The sound quality is great, deep base with very clear vocals, and the ability to customize the equalizer to your liking is fantastic. What's not fantastic is the Tactile sensors, the microphone, and pressure build up from the noise cancelling. The sensors do not respond very well, often skipping what I was listening to and causing me to have to take my phone out and go back; defeats the purpose of the feature. The internal sensor works great but with the wonky touch sensors it ends up playing the sound or skipping the song/episode. The Microphone is horrible. It picks up all of the background noise and not your voice. The voice through feature seamed cool at the beginning but it became very annoying. Anything triggers it, a random sounds, other voices, loud noises, coughing, etc. It makes the experience unenjoyable. Lastly, the pressure. My god, it can be so intense sometimes. You feel it pushing into your head. The pressure can cause some headaches and sometimes a little disorientation, nausea, dizziness/motion sickness. Makes relaxing a bit difficult. While we're happy that you like the great sound and you're utilizing the built-in equalizer on the Sony Headphones Connect app, we're sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with the touch sensor control panel does not respond correctly. Make sure to update the software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance.
When you wear the headset over a cap, cloth, a scarf, hair, etc., wearing detection may not work properly, and the touch sensor control panel may not be available for operation. Wear the headset so that your ears are inside the earpads. We also recommend to clear the touch sensor so that you can tap the touch sensor directly. The WH-1000XM4 features Precise Voice Pickup technology, which will reduce background noise and delivers clearer voice quality to the other person on the phone. Depending on the surrounding environment, wind noise may increase when the Ambient Sound Mode is turned on. In that case, cancel the voice focus with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. If the wind noise is still significant, turn off the Ambient Sound Mode. For call quality, re-establish the connection between the headphones and your source device. Select HFP or HSP for the profile. You can also check the settings of the app that you are using for mic sensitivity if available.
Your feedback about the atmospheric pressure when active noise canceling is turn on is greatly appreciated. We are sorry, but the WH-1000XM4 doesn't offer a manual atmospheric pressure adjustment. However, it features an NC Optimizer - Optimizing the noise canceling function to suit the wearer. For details, please refer to the following Help Guide link:

Great headphones

I did a bit of research and these headphones were a great upgrade. The sony app that the headphones require is user friendly and will turn on only when the headphones are. Noise cancellation is awesome. Lots of other great features but it would make this review into a story. I would highly recommend anyone that is in the market to try these bad boys.
