I would say that this model has very good noise canceling and good sound, you won’t be able to tell difference between MX4 & MX5

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have previously purchased every installment of these headphones and love each and every improvement, I love the newest features except "speak to chat" it won't let me sing a song without interrupting. The change function button should account now for Siri, I don't own a pixel or android, and they need to make room for Siri. Most sony headphones were able to dual connect, but i am glad these do so seamlessly. I thought these were better and cheaper than the Apple version. I am also a Sony Fan.

I tried the XM5 and I wasn’t a fan of them either, it honestly seemed like a step down. Finally I went with the XM4 and I do not regret the change. Great bass and even better NC. I was working and heard nothing around me. Some have even used them to mow the lawn. That’s how strong the noise cancellation is.

There is no reason to buy the xm5, they didn’t make enough upgrades to justify the cost. Buy these and save the money. These are the best consumer grade headphones in their price category. I am a professional audio engineer and the sound quality and ANC is second to none without buying into a much higher tier.

Otherwise the sound is amazing as it the noise cancelling feature. Very comfortable, as well.

Noise cancellation is great, it is comfy and it sounds good. Both my PC and my phone is connected to it and I simultaneously switched it whenever I use it. I would recommend it.

After wearing them for even a short period, my ears start to feel uncomfortable, and the pressure becomes hard to ignore. I tried adjusting the fit several times, but the discomfort remains, making it difficult to enjoy the music or wear the headphones for longer sessions. Unfortunately, despite their excellent technical features, the lack of comfort has been a major drawback for me. Overall, the Sony WH-1000XM4 may work well for many users, but if you’re sensitive to ear pressure or tight-fitting ear cups, you might face similar discomfort. I’m disappointed because I really wanted to like these headphones, but the ear pain makes it hard to recommend them.
