Good at their job

Mostly comfortable but for me I start to feel the weight on the top of my head after a while. Also with glasses it's inevitably a bit awkward. I have trouble getting the touch control to reliably play/pause. It's disappointing that the XM3 supported the aptX codec but these XM4 do not. There's a fancy LDAC codec that it supports, but only on Android, and not when you are using the multi-connection feature. Also for the price, it would be nice if you could use them as a USB headset when plugged in (I had a Bluetooth headset that could do that). I also wish the carrying case could fit them with the headband extended, since I have to readjust every time.

Perfect for everyday use

Noise cancelling is solid and I use them for work and school. No problems at all, and I am able to connect it to two devices with no issues. The app is very intuitive with great settings.

We are pleased to hear that you generally love your WH-1000XM4 headphones, but we are very sorry to hear about the frustrating issue with disconnections during calls or when speaking, which is causing you to miss requests during work time. That is certainly not the seamless, reliable experience we intend to deliver, especially for professional use.
The WH-1000XM4 has a feature called "Speak-to-Chat" that automatically pauses music and can disconnect from a call when it detects your voice. If this feature is enabled, it may be interpreting your work conversations as a signal to pause/disconnect.
We strongly recommend checking the following in the Sony | Headphones Connect app:
Check Speak-to-Chat: Locate this setting in the app and try temporarily disabling it to see if this resolves the disconnection issue when you speak.
Check DSEE Extreme: While less likely to cause disconnections, ensuring this is off during critical calls can sometimes improve stability.
Check Firmware: Make sure your headphones are running the latest firmware update, as updates often include stability fixes for connectivity.
If disabling Speak-to-Chat does not solve the problem, please contact our support team directly. They can guide you through more in-depth troubleshooting steps:

I think you have to get this model at the right price. Getting my set for under $250 made sense. The price made it a reasonable upgrade over the M2. It's lighter, sounds slightly better, and simpler to use with the Sony app. Is it a huge step from the older models? No, but it is an improvement and I think most people will be satisfied with their purchase.

Arguably one of the best headphones out there

Audio cancellation takes a bit to getting use to the headphones will change settings entering and exiting different environments.
