Sony WH-1000XM4 NC headphones

I tried my son's set and decided I would like to have a pair. The BT pairs well with my Laptop, TV, or Cell phone and the app on my phone controls which (up to two devices). Updates have gone smooth and the charge on the battery lasts a long time.

Best noise canceling on the market

Met her half way on the price and picked up the newer version M4 in blue for myself. Loved my M3’s and love my M4’s just as much. Highly recommended if you want some of the best sound and noise canceling available. You won’t be disappointed!

These lack the two files to keep the sound from lagging. So I purchased a dongle that has them and is also a transmitter that the headphones can connect to. Works awesome once you turn the volume down on the Sony's and up using the tv amplifier.

The noise cancellation is remarkable. I wore them on an airplane with two crying babies and slept the entire flight. It can track your movement and automatically changes the type of noise cancellation tones based on your movement, it is so cool.

Worth every Penny

Sound quality is what I expected and the noise cancelling is the best I’ve experienced. The only issue I run into is that my devices will randomly disconnect once and I’ll have to reconnect. After that there aren’t any issues. Love these either way.

I had returned these to get the Bose NC700 headphones. I will be exchanging the Bose 700 for the Sony XM4. The XM4 have excellent base and clear treble. You can really feel the bass which I love. Feels like a rave in my head. The noise canceling is ok. It could be better. I can hear conversation coming from my living room when I’m in my office. Maybe my expectations are to high when it comes to noise canceling. It doesn’t cancel out noise as much as it muffles it.

For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is updated (via the Sony Headphones Connect app). The noise canceling function is effective in low-frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off. Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.

Pretty Good Headphones with Slight Problem

The sound is great but the microphone interferes with sound when used. Example, if I use the headset just as music device (ex headphones) it works great. When using the mic (ex. headset) the sounds becomes less clear. We have resolved this issue by using an external mic. The headphones are pretty easy to use with computer (except for stated issue above) and cellphone. BTW, the sound proofing is great. I would recommend these headphones based on just that.

Clamp the cushy cans over ears and either solitude or noisy workplace fades and enables getting things done. And that means either thinking, yoga or doing...or all three.
