Not bad but way too expensive; not what i expected

I only got them because i kept hearing that the bass is better than the bose qc 35 but they aren't, not by a longshot. I tested it with several songs and the qc 35s sound way better. Which was disappointing because of how expensive these headphones were. Also i did not like the touch sensor or the voice control. The touching sensor is very sensitive; the slightest little bump and your music cuts off. And it took me forever to figure out how to cutoff the voice control. Everytime i sang or talked out loud the music stopped. So it isn't very user friendly if you're new to sony. Overall i returned it 2 days later and im happy i didn't get rid of my qc 35s just yet.

The WH-1000XM4 is compatible with Sony|Headphones connect app where you can set the Equalizer which allows you to customize the sound that suits your music, change the function assignments to the touch sensors of both the left and right units and switch between enabled/disabled the automatic audio detection and set the Speak-to-Chat which helps if you have any issues while wearing the headphones. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. We hope that you will shop again Sony in the future and thanks again for purchasing Sony. - Kris
Good Sometimes but not all the time.

The noise canceling feature was amazing when it worked. My AC was almost completely silenced and noises while running errands were much quieter, making my audio content much more engrossing. If you’re a bass head, you will be underwhelmed but if you like a nice balance of highs, mids, and a decent amount of low frequencies, you’ll like these. Unfortunately the pair I bought started to develop a slight hissing noise. It sounded like wind in a microphone or the faint sound of a waterfall in the distance. The hissing sound would take me out of the experience of my music or podcast. Whenever there was a pause in a conversation or a fade out of music, I would start to notice the hiss. I thought switching between devices would be easy but it was cumbersome. Switching from an iPad to an iPhone took some effort, having to restart the app or switch off Bluetooth on one device. The app isn’t properly designed for the iPad either so you’ll either have thick black borders or a stretched UI meant for phones. I will reconsider purchasing these headphones again since I hear so much praise for Sony’s noise canceling tech but I will wait a few months. By then I hope manufacturing, software, and firmware is refined to avoid this problem. Best Buy has been great and I will continue shopping here for years.

Resetting and initializing the headset might have resolved this issue. The multipoint function ( Connecting the headset to 2 devices simultaneously) must be turned on using the Sony Headphones Connect app.

Excellent Quality

Amazing sound, connectivity issues with iPhone

All that being said, if you have an iPhone, let alone a few Apple products that you want to use these for, bear in mind that the toggling from one device to the other comes with a painstakingly annoyance. I am constantly having to turn my bluetooth settings on and off and re-pairing every time I am wanting to use my iPad instead of my iPhone for listening. This is ridiculous with a device of this price point. I can't recommend these for Apple users.

Great Sony Headphones

I use it with the aux and Bluetooth, the headset work with aux in the moments i have long gaming or trips, even when I cant get to charge it, it cant use the noise canceling after the battery dead but that's okay.
