Works Great - Proximity Sensor Poorly Placed

My ear pushes right on it and causes discomfort after a few hours. The sensor adds the auto pausing feature. But I would trade it away for not having it rubbing on my ear.

Thanks for sharing your review and experience with the WH1000XM4. We're glad that you like the sound quality and noise canceling function of the headphones. It's unfortunate that the unit turns off by itself. For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is up-to-date (via the Sony Headphones Connect app). Make sure to charge the built-in battery sufficiently. Resetting and initializing the headset may also help resolve the issue. Please refer to the steps on these links:

Best headphones for the money

I already had a pair in black and my adult son has them as well. Superb battery life and the best noise cancelling available. They replaced Bose for all of us due to the better battery life. Great sound quality and a better value than the newer model XM5.
