I love my headphones! The sound coming out of the headphones is amazing. You can hear every note and symbol. The bass is Perfect. And they are comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The battery life is excellent as well.

Really it’s like 4.5/5 because I wish the headphones could switch more easily between devices. But the noise cancelling customisation is top tier. They are very comfy and the fact there is an option to connect these to a 3.5mm jack makes these absolutely the best. I have only charged these like 2 times in the last year. They have great battery life and the standby time is also amazing

The durability is what you'd expect (even surpassing) the old saying "you get what you pay for", they're extremely comfortable to wear even for long time periods, and the included case is a continuation of that, especially for keeping cables with the headphones. The sound is absolutely top notch, entering into audiophile levels with bass that should please 99.99999% of ppl (and to use with a few choice non-Sony EQ apps in Android or iOS stores, these *definitely* compete with audiophile levels. The Sony Headphones app is *very* easy to use with a user friendly UI that anyone can navigate/make changes; it's all really self explanatory. Top notch for *any* use...music, podcasts, movies, tv and *excellent* for gaming (too bad the built-in mics can't be utilized, but otherwise makes for *real* immersive gaming I've never before experienced. To use wired with PS4 or Xbox One, the tv or soundbar connected via optical cable actually have more latency than the headphones! Good advantage in FPS games!). The noise cancelling is even better than I read about while researching BTNC headphones to replace my Sony WH-H910N headphones that began having audio probs within 6 months. Being mostly homebound disabled and needing to sleep in the recliner, others can go about their business in early morning without disturbing me in the least as a podcast plays, and even can't hear the woodshop noise of table saw/heavy machinary about 10 ft. behind my recliner throughout the day. The noise cancellation optimizer has proven to be an excellent feature. I was skeptical about some features by some reviews, like sensitivity of auto pause when taking headphones off...but you adjust them as needed without worry; you have to fully take them off as default sensitivity is set. I haven't used much for phone calls, but at least with my LG Stylo 4 sound quality on my end is best I've ever heard from *any* headphones or bluetooth device (the old style pre-smartphone days that came with all phones). I initially bought the Bose QC35 ii Gaming Headset (default QC35 ii's but with a mic included for gaming), and I'm 110% glad I exchanged for these, even if The only real suggestion I would make to Sony (a suggestion, *not* a con) is to put ventillation holes on the inside of the ear cups. Like any over ear headphones they can get a little warm after several hours of use, and having used the Bose QC35 ii headphones for 2 weeks prior to exchanging for these, that did make a noticable difference. Worth every penny...especially if you get them on sale because then the optional 2 year warranty nearly pays for itself.

Amazing comfort and quality. I travel heavily for work and the noise cancellation is optimal. Zero noise from the airline or any crying babies makes this a plus to have. Allows for easy focus on what you’re listening. The sound is impeccable. Crystal clear and I don’t need go above 75% of volume capacity to hear at a good volume. Connects easily and the sound adaptive feature makes listening at home or on the plane seamlessly simple. Comes in a nice case with charge cable and aux cable for connection to in flight entertainment.

These headphones are amazing, the noise cancelling function is great. I have loud roommates and it blocks out literally ALL of the deep-pitched noises, such as doors/ cabinets slamming, traffic etc. They literally are an indispensable part of my life where I live, as low-pitched booming noises bother me the most. They don't block very high pitched noises a ton, but that doesn't bother me at all. The sound quality is very good too, so good I now watch all my movies and play all my games with these. The cost is a small price to pay for the vast quality-of-life improvements this pair of headphones has given me. I was fortunate enough to receive a pair that hasn't had a defect or the "wind noises" or anything. Try not to sweat in them as I heard moisture can cause this, it's not Sony's fault, they didn't design them for wet conditions. Would recommend 100%, they will block many stressful noises in your life, and I can't even go back to my wired headphones now

I really enjoy how comfortable and amazing the quality is! I've had them for a few months now, and they are my go to headphones. The battery lasts so long, too!

These headphones have been used everyday since getting them! I have the Apple AirPod Maxes and I would always grab these instead. Build quality feels a little cheaper but that’s what gives it the comfortable weight when on your head. A lot of headphones feel bulky and I can only wear other headphones for so long. These are comfortable, fit around the ear perfectly, and have great sound quality. After owning for over a year, there have been no issues!

These are my favorite headphones. Love the sound on them. They don’t weight a lot. Battery life is good doesn’t go low so quick

i work in a very loud factory. the noise cancelling feature is awesome! i can accept phone calls, start and stop conversations with voice recognition feature. alexis. long battery life and comfortable to wear. pricey but well worth it

Great set of wireless noise canceling headphones. I bought these to replace an older pair of Sony mdr-xb950n1 cans. So far I am enjoying the upgraded features, improved comfort, and sound quality. For certain types of music I do miss the extra bass punch of the older pair, but the sound is much improved overall, as is the build quality. I love that the music pauses automatically when the headphones are removed and resumes when put back on. The noise cancelling and hear-through features are also quite nice. One of the only issues I have is with the lack of physical sound level buttons. The touch swipe feature is quite finicky and makes for a frustrating experience at times. Other than a wish for more physical buttons, I really have no complaints about this solid pair of headphones.

These headphones have many great features. They are very comfortable to wear. They are lightweight. Noise cancellation is very good, but without music playing there is an audible hissing sound from the noise cancellation. The app is great to work with, and connection and setup were a breeze thanks to the consumer friendly app. The app can take into account that you are even wearing glasses when setting up. Doing a wireless firmware update was very quick.There are many choices to choose from with the EQ feature. But the audio quality was not there for me, which was a big surprise given how many customers rate it very highly, and given high ratings from influencer reviews. The instant I started listening to music, I knew something did not sound right. They have a good amount of bass, but it sounds muddy to me, and middle and high tones lacked definition. Instrument separation and clarity was also sub par. I subscribe to Amazon HD music which allows for the highest quality streaming experience. I also tried listening with the cord attached, and many different equalizer settings, but the audio did not improve. In some sense the sound was actually irritating to listen to because of this. I have listened to the Bose 700NC and my old headphones were the BOSE QC 15 wired version, which I compared and thought had much better audio quality and clarity. Maybe these headphones were defective, but in any case I decided not to pursue it and returned them. Given all the other very positive features, I really wanted these to work out.

If you like to listen to music loud and with thunderous bass this isn't gona be for you. Otherwise it's a good set of headphones. Noise Cancelling is pretty decent as well as battery life & range. They are lightweight for their size and pretty comfortable. if you plan on laying down in bed and falling asleep with headphones on, you'll find these to be uncomfortable in this specific situation.

I bought these to use with a MacBook Pro for casual streaming, YouTube, etc. I also use them with an iPhone13 Pro when in a room with others whom I don't want to disturb. I seriously considered the Apple Airpods Max and the Bose QC 45 as well researching many reviews and opinions. I relied heavily on the advice of my techie son who is big into HD audio (keeps his music in DSD files when possible) and is also a well headset experienced major airline pilot. While the Air Pods Max have a few trivial Apple interoperability features, the price was hugely higher. The Bose were a bit behind in features and sound reviews. These Sony's scored best on sound quality, and while I was making the choice, these Sonys went on sale - decision quickly finalized. I was worried about switching them from device to device but it's easy and quickly learned. As I studied them more, I am now using them in the mode where they are connected to both devices so I don't need to switch them. I can only listen to one device at a time, first come first heard, but that is pretty functional if you think about it. BestBuy was out of black in the store, and I am glad. All other headsets I've owned were black or gray, and I just love the blue. The battery life is fine, and USB-C charging is great. They work fine with Siri, btw. This is a minor complaint, but I would prefer that The Speak-To-Chat "time until the mode closes" choices include an ultra-short option, perhaps 5 or 7.5 seconds. I don't remember my Magnolia sales advisor's name (Austin, TX Arboretum), but he was very knowledgable. Thank you BestBuy and Sony!

Got them on sale for $200, great sound, great battery life, haven't used the mic yet but im sure its decent. Connectivity is great, no lagging behind games on my computer.

My son now 15 goes thru a pair of headphones every 1 -2 years. I used to pick them out for him but now he checks for reviews and compares features available against features he likes. Between comfort, connectivity and the case he’ll tell me something else he’s found about these that he likes. The option to go wired or wireless

Pros Excellent sound quality - sounds extend beyond the human range of hearing Actually cancels noise Battery charges quick/lasts all day Cons Hurts your wallet Doing Video Editing while your child is doing school from home made this a necessity, and this pair delivers on sound quality and noise cancelling. I use them 7-9 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. I am comparing heavily against the XM3's. My reason for replacing the XM3's was the battery was dead from overuse(I replaced the battery myself, voiding the warranty). Noise cancelling and battery life have seen a significant upgrade. Enough that I would consider purchasing the XM4 if my XM3 was still working. Sound Quality wise, it is a decent boost, wired and wireless. Plugged in, it is a smooth sound from the earth shaking bass to the smooth high pitch sounds, these deliver. Throw these babies on in the dark with a scary movie and there is literally no escape. Voices are crisp and warm, while the bass can(and will) blow your mind. Sony typically runs higher on the bass side of things. The 3D audio is pretty awesome as well, from a technical standpoint. Being able to correctly situation 7.1 channel audio in these headphones with an accurate space sound feel. Been using noise cancelling technology since the Bose quiet comfort over the ear headphones(20 years ago), and these are the best I have found. The changes from the XM3's noise cancelling is a solid leap forward. The XM4's noise cancelling seem to mute out more of the mid-hi tones that the XM3's let through, or else it lowers it more. More of the mid to low ranges are effectively canceled as well. My Laptop is the loudest made(seriously, 66db) and is hoisted at above head level in the air. With nothing playing, background noise is audible, but with a little noise playing these headphones really do their job well, enough that my family can be playing 5-6 feet away(they are loud lol) and with something playing at low volume keeps it silent. Another area they do really well in is the noise cancelling adaptation that it allows you to do. I go from my noisy editing area to outside for some fresh air and the headphones automatically adjust for the noise in order to cancel it better. On the streets, it blocks out almost all car noise when tested about 15 feet away from a 4 lane street when busy to a point where it was jarring how disconnected from the loss of hearing.

I love these headphones! I’ve always had a problem with earbuds staying in my ears or giving me headaches so I decided to buy over the ear headphones. It was an awesome decision, these are so comfortable and the noise cancellation helps a lot when traveling. The sound quality is great but didn’t blow me out of the water. Still great though! Lots of customization in the app. Also, the battery life is outstanding; I was truly impressed. I traveled to the airport and used them on the plane twice in a row and the charge was still at ~90% which I thought was crazy.
