Close to perfection but a win for Sony

When going through the setup process, you are guided by the app to scan your ears along with setting up your own personal settings. Once you have the app configured to your liking, listening to music is a pleasant experience. You definitely hear the warm tones of the music with a nice soundstage. My only complaint is that after a few minutes of listening, your ears tend to get warm. The touch controls on the side are great, however, Google Assistant will be removed and will only use Amazon’s Alexa which to me is a bad move since I use Google Assistant at home. A part from this, you have pause to talk which is great in theory, but if you hum to a song that you enjoy, the music will pause which can get frustrating. The headphones come with its own case, headphone cable, and charging cable (plus an airplane adapter). The noise canceling is one of the best (second compared to AirPods Max), but what I do enjoy is the activity features built in to it. What I mean is that if you start walking, noice cancellation turns in to active mode so you can hear your surroundings instead of being closed off, but if you are still then you get full noise cancellation. For this to work you have to enable location services, so it is up to the user if to enable that feature. Overall, these are great headphones and I enjoy using them out in public as I keep my AirPods Max for home use. Wait until you see holiday deals for these headphones as you can get them for about $270 compared to the retail cost of $349

When connected the sounds are EXCELLENT and provides the opportunity to be in a world of your own- regardless of the surroundings!! They come with a convenient case. All connectors are included. Bluetooth operated. Well worth the cost!

Too hot on ears

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Music quality was great with excellent noise cancelling, however anything else like calls or podcasts it picks up the wind noise easily so that was a bit of a nuisance. The other issue was that the headphones physically got too hot and heavy on my ears after wearing for about 10 minutes. I ended up returning them because I couldn't deal with the heat. I had to take them off too frequently.

Sony WH-1000XM4

They don't take a long time to charge either. However, like the first pair of these that I tried and returned, they randomly turn off during songs or while watching videos, and I have keep turning them back on. The % of battery left seems to be irrelevant. Gonna have to go talk to someone at the store now.

That's definitely not normal. Since it happened with your first pair too, it might be a settings issue. Here some steps you can try to resolve it:
1- Disable the Automatic Power off setting by Opening the Sound Connect app on your smartphone, then go to system > Automatic Power Off > Do not turn off
2- Make sure the firmware is updated, you can also check this on the Sound Connect App
3- Initialize the headphones to restore factory settings, here are the steps on how to do it:

World class ANC, sound, comfort, build & features!

They have more emphasis on the low end out of the box with the ability to deliver deep, ear rattling bass. The Sony app gives me the ability to customize the sound to my liking. The ANC is more [compared to the PX’s] effective with reducing ambient noise and while I don’t utilize all the available tech now, it’s very comprehensive & I may experiment down the line. Overall I am very satisfied & they were well worth the wait!

The sound quality on these is incredible and so is the noise canceling. I use them at the gym on my runs and to study for my classes. They’re so comfortable and the battery lasts me a week without charging.

I like the “tap to turn on or off.” The “stop playing when speaking” feature is nice and helpful, except when you have a tendency to sing along haha! You’ll be really into a song and accidentally start to sing and the music shuts off. Maybe a good thing when youre in public? Haha! I do lovethe stylish keep-case with the rose gold zipper pull.

Note:
The Speak-to-Chat mode activates when it detects the speech of the person wearing the headset, but in rare cases it may activate in response to the voices of other people, ambient environmental sounds, transportation announcements, etc. Disable Speak-to-Chat in cases where the Speak-to-Chat mode frequently activates by accident.
You can also use the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app to switch between enabled/disabled, change the sensitivity of the automatic audio detection, and change the time until the Speak-to-Chat mode ends. Hope this helps!

Amazing Headphone for Students

I used to have XM3 before but I think it is worth upgrading. Here are some features I liked about new XM4: - Multiple Device Support - Auto pause/play - Speak to Chat (Loved It!) - Best in class noise cancellation - Best sound quality - Different modes based on activity like sitting, walking, running, etc. I would recommend this headphones to every student/professional who is reading this review.

Great sound, very comfortable, but some bugs

The bass and mods are punchy and the treble is exciting and lively. The added surface area on the earcups spread the already light pressure across more of your head, making a much more comfortable fit. The multipoint connection works for the most part, but as of firmware 2.0.6 it still needs some tweaks, especially for MacOS and iOS switching. All in all this is a sold pair of headphones, but I would consider doing more research if you already have the XM3s.

I can see why. The sound is incredible, setup is super easy with the app (on iOS), and it pairs with everything I own pretty easily. The noise canceling is really impressive. I didn't realize how much noise there was around me. Perfect for when I'm working and watching TV. Seriously, try pairing these to a smart TV with bluetooth and you won't be disappointed - it's like having a massive theater in your ears. They are pretty comfortable to wear, though after a few hours I noticed a bit of discomfort on the top of my head. Overall, not bad though.

I forgot to charge them one time and they still lasted me like a whole day when I used it. These also charge pretty quick for the battery life, overall it’s a good product for the price

Amazing quality

Battery life is amazing that I don’t have to charge every day but rather now and then. Noise canceling is so good that when i take my headphones off i can hear everything and it makes me wanna put them back on. Would recommend for sure
