The best investment!

I bought the headphones to reduce the noise from my upstairs neighbor who walks like a stampeding elephant. I wear them 24/7 to listen to music or watch TV. I would say the only issue is when you connect 2 devices via Bluetooth, there is a bit of interference.

Music through these comes through beautifully and (depending on the format) you'll even catch the tiniest of details. The noise cancelling works pretty good too, works best with things like blocking out the sounds when you're flying on plane but still works nicely overall. The battery life is great, lasts me several days with noise canceling on, and best of all, they fit my rather large head.

Although, the bass could be a little better, it still delivers surprisingly well. I’m coming for beats studio and this is just way better in every aspect. It’s probably more than what you need it for. Me personally, I wanted to synced to two device. That there was the selling point for me. The billion other things it does is just icing on the cake. Not all is good. Some of the things it’s does well can get annoying. So you’ll have to turn off some features. The swipe to turn up/down the volume and change songs works maybe 60% of the time and it takes some getting use to to swipe the exact location for the function. The feature where you start to talk to listen and have a conversation with someone else is a little too sensitive. Don’t even both using this feature if you’re working out. Banging of the weights would activate it instantly and all the time. So spend some time on the app. You won’t regret it. Now the all time best feature is the lightness. It’s literal like nothing is on your head. If this thing didn’t cuff your ears and play music, you’d never know you’re wearing it. A little exaggerated but you get the picture. That feature is also a down fall. Don’t drop the thing from a decent distance. The swivel is easy to break. I broke mine that way and you have to come out of pocket to get it fixed.

Excellent incremental upgrade

The sound quality seems to be more balanced this time around and not as bass heavy has the XM3, but it's still not a flat sound like some reference headphones. The touch controls are better, but still iffy. Comfort wise, these feel the same as the XM3. I really like the build quality even though it's mostly textured plastic, but that makes them lightweight and the clamp force is perfect. The only downside to this entire line of sony headphones is that the depth of the earcups need to be increased.

However they do shut off randomly but that could just be bc my phone sucks. I like the noise cancelling feature and they are incredibly comfortable. Very nice :)

A common reason for this behavior is the "Automatic Power Off" feature in the Sony Headphones Connect app, which can be configured to turn the headphones off when no music is playing. If this isn't the case, please try resetting your headphones as this can often resolve minor glitches. If the problem persists, our support team is available to provide more detailed assistance.

Worth the hype!

Music is crystal clear and the EQ is top notch. I can also wear them comfortably for hours on end (as I do while working) while never needing to recharge them for a solid two days. If I had any complaints, it's the weird touch-based controls on the side of the ear cups that don't quite make logical sense when resting your hand against your head. It works, but I feel it's a little too sensitive if your fingers brush the ears. Nevertheless, it's absolutely worth the purchase!

I was very hesitant them because they are so expensive but after having them for about a month I have no regrets. Their is a weight room next door to my office that is in heavy use for the last hour of my day and these cancel out all the racket coming in and let me keep my focus. They are very comfortable and have a great depth of sound. They are easy to set up and integrate well with your notifications. The battery lasts a long time too. If you are on the fence about these I hope this gives you the push to get them. You wont regret it

I'm not a huge music person, but i still can appreciate the audio improvements over my Pixel buds pro. The ANC is excellent, but the ambient mode could be better. It still works and is perfectly usable, but found it slightly worse than my Pixel buds pro and no where as good as the Airpods pro, which is $100 cheaper. But other than that, it's very comfortable to wear and then battery life is great.

Best Headphones for Music Lovers

The clarity of the bass, mids, and highs makes these the top performing headphones all-around. The XM4s sound great out of the box, and you further enhance your experience with custom EQ. The bass is very punchy for basshead lovers, or if you're like me, you can turn up your mids and highs and hear all the instruments that usually get faded and lost. I have my EQ settings pretty balanced, where my lows and bass sit around a 4, while my mids and highs sit at 8 (10 being the max). These are by far the best sounding headphones I’ve ever heard, and I’ve tried a lot. None of the previous ones can even compare. The companion app comes with a bunch of settings and features to help enhance the XM4s like adjusting your EQ settings of course. It also provides features such as fit testing for 360 reality audio and ANC/ ambient sound control. One of my favorite features is the Adaptive Sound Control. It’s able to detect where you are, and depending on how you have your settings, it will auto-enable ANC or ambient sound. For example, if I’m at work, the headphones will automatically enable ambient sound so i can still listen to my music while also being aware of the chatter of my coworkers around me. If I’m at home, i can fully immerse myself in my music thanks to my headphones auto-enabling active noise cancelling. Another neat feature i love is the headphones can detect if your’e speaking, and will automatically pause your music and go into ambient sound mode to allow you to converse. Then after you've stopped speaking, it will resume your music in whatever previous mode you had it set to. And of course you can always turn all these features off if you wont be utilizing them. Overall, I’m really impressed with these headphones. I’m upset i didn't try them out sooner. It’s definitely worth the price. It looks good, travels well, has a ton of features, and most importantly, sounds great! 10/10 for me.

The swipe features are pretty cool also. they get a little hot though when you have them on for long periods so i used them through the hood of my sweater when i was on a flight last week. Even with that I would still recommend.

They’re super comfy on the ears especially and piercing friendly as well! Sound quality is great and I love that you can skip/pause as well as adjust the volume without having to use your phone! Also if you’re one who forget to charge your headphones you can easily get a few hours of use with just a couple minutes of charge!

Great headset

These are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I was worried they would get ruined by the sweat but I make sure to dry them after every workout and I added a couple of silica bags to keep them dry after each use. They have a great sound and excellent sound quality. The battery last for a very very long time as well. Ever since I bought them back in February of 2022 I’ve only charge them 3 times.
