We regret to hear you're not having the best experience with these headphones and you find them uncomfortable during use. This is definitely not the experience we'd like to hear from you. Our WH-1000XM4 has a slider that you can use to adjust the length of the headband to get the best fit and for comfortable listening experience.

Note: If you put on the headset without adjusting the slider, the headset may not be positioned properly on your head, resulting in discomfort or a weak noise canceling effect.

You can also make few adjustments to your headphones settings to suit your needs. We recommend that you download the Sony Headphones Connect app. This will give you more control over your headphones and their performance.

It's also unfortunate that the unit had to be returned. We could've walked you through with some troubleshooting and offer assistance with our product.

While we are glad you like the great sound quality of our XM4 when listening to your music, we are sorry if the call quality of these headphones did not meet your expectations. The XM4 provides great call sound quality when connected to a smartphone or mobile phone that supports the Bluetooth profile HFP (Hands-free Profile) or HSP (Headset Profile). However, your voice will be heard from the headset through the headset’s microphone (Sidetone function). To get the most out of your XM4, we recommend updating its firmware to the latest version (2.0.7). The software includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements. While we're glad you like incredible audio quality and most of the features, we regret to hear you're experiencing unexpected issues with the headphones drops out audio or no sound is heard. We want to make sure that you’re taken care of and go through some troubleshooting with you to make sure your headphones are great. Make sure to update the firmware of the headset by performing a software update (via Sony Headphones Connect app)

Use this headset and the Bluetooth device as near to each other as possible. The situation may be improved by changing the wireless playback quality settings. Set the headset to “Priority on stable connection” mode or fixing the wireless playback mode with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app.
