The WH-1000XM4 supports pairing with multiple devices, but sometimes an initial connection to a new source requires a specific setup to establish a solid Bluetooth link.

Please try the following steps to resolve the pairing issue:

1. Check Proximity: Make sure the headset and the TV are within 1 meter (3 feet) of each other during the pairing process.

2. Enable Manual Pairing Mode: Even if the TV's Bluetooth menu sees the headphones, they need to be actively broadcasting the pairing signal.

For pairing a second or subsequent device, press and hold the power button on the headset for 7 seconds or more to enter pairing mode.

3. Perform a Factory Reset: If the steps above don't work, a factory reset will clear all previous pairing information and restore factory settings, which often resolves connection issues.

Thank you for your honest review. While we are glad you like the sound quality, we're sorry to hear the discomforts that you are having while wearing the headphones. Adjusting the headband and the earpads properly can help reduce discomfort while wearing the headphones. These headphones actually support super-soft, pressure-relieving earpads in foamed urethane evenly distribute pressure and increase ear/pad contact for a stable fit. While we are happy that you appreciate the sound quality of our WH1000XM4, we regret to hear that the noise canceling capability is not sufficient. This is usually not the case with our XM4 nor the experience we want you to have. Please allow us to troubleshoot this issue and turn your experience into a better one. Usually, for noise canceling not to work properly, it is because the headset is not worn properly or the settings are not set correctly. Here are some steps on how to make it work correctly.

- Make sure that the noise canceling function is turned on.
- Adjust the headset into a comfortable position.
- The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
- Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off.
- Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.
- With the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, check the setting of [Ambient Sound Control]. If it is set to [Wind Noise Reduction] or [Ambient Sound], the effect of noise canceling is reduced. Set it to the noise canceling mode.
- Disable Speak-to-Chat, and check whether the situation has improved.
- Check with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app whether the function of the CUSTOM button is set to [Ambient Sound Control].

This unit requires the A2DP Bluetooth profile for Bluetooth audio. We recommend checking the specifications of your TV if it supports the same profile to connect the headphones with it.
