I got a noise reduction head set for my grandson. He was willing to accept a lesser model, but the sales staff noticed the better one was on sale and a much better deal. My grandson loves it and is so happy. Total experience was easy.

Do yourself a solid and don't buy these

The sound quality is good, but that's about the extent of it. I've had mine for about three months and used them only with Apple products. Connecting to bluetooth takes way too long if it even connects at all, the app is clunky and not intuitive, and the microphone is completely unreliable. I've been using the headphones a lot for work, and sometimes the microphone works, sometimes the sound is muffled, and sometimes it just doesn't work at all. I understand that these aren't the number one headphones for meetings, but I'm literally only expecting the microphone to work, sound quality doesn't have to be perfect. I contacted Best Buy, who told me to contact Sony, who told me to contact Best Buy. Best Buy scheduled an appointment to "have them looked at." I just went to the store for the appointment only to find out that Best Buy had no intention of looking at them and told me that I needed to contact Sony. Sony is going to send me a replacement which at this point I don't want but is my only option. Avoid these (and Best Buy) unless you're looking for a bad time.

Good headphones

Got these to use at the gym since I’m there every day. Only complaint is they sometimes they pause in the middle of the song by themselves. Haven’t read all instructions so maybe it’s something I’m not doing. They are supposed to pause if you take them off and if you set that option, but with the sweat a lot of times they don’t. Other than that I’m happy with the purchase.

The built-in proximity sensor in the left unit and the built-in acceleration sensors in each of the left and right units detect when the headset is attached to or removed from your ears, and the headset automatically controls the touch sensor control panel’s operation, powering off, pausing music playback, etc. In this case, you may turn off the wearing detection using the Sony Headphones Connect app.

The capacitive touch is awful, I have to hold the power button forever to turn them on and the fact that I have to use an app is incredibly annoying!

The Sony Headphones Connect app is designed to fully utilize the capabilities of the headphones. You can still use the headphones without the Sony app.
For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is updated (via the Sony Headphones Connect app).

They do as advertised - they do seem to make things nicer when you are trying to listen to music and such in a noisy room.

In terms of noise cancellation, I'm not sure. I was told by the person on the other end that they couldn't hear anything and I was typing at the time. On my end, I could still hear some noise in my background. Does it not block noise in both directions? Still adjusting to the product....

The noise-cancelling function is effective in low-frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Although noise is reduced, it is not completely cancelled.
