We regret to hear that you are not having a complete experience because of computer connectivity. The headphones may have been connected to the computer through Low Energy (LE) communication mode. This usually occurs when the headphones are paired without pressing the power button for seven seconds and may result in the headphones not pairing to the computer or the computer not having sound.

To resolve the issue, make sure to press the power button on the headphones for seven seconds to put the headphones in pairing mode before you pair the headphones with the computer.

After the headphones are in pairing mode, both WH-1000XM4 and LE_WH-1000XM4 appear on the computer screen. LE_WH-1000XM4 may appear first, and then a few seconds later WH-1000XM4 will appear. Wait for the WH-1000XM4 to appear on the computer screen and select it.

Note: It may take up to one minute before WH-1000XM4 appears.

Troubleshooting Steps for Connection Stability:

1. Update Firmware: Please make sure your headphones are running the latest software by checking the Sony | Headphones Connect app. Updates often include crucial fixes for stability and performance.

2. Stable Connection Mode: Within the Sony | Headphones Connect app settings, set the headset to “Priority on stable connection” mode. This dedicates more bandwidth to maintaining a solid Bluetooth link.

3. Check Your Environment: Bluetooth signals can be affected by interference. Please try to avoid using the headphones in areas with heavy signal traffic, such as near wireless LAN routers or on crowded public places (train station premises or a crowded train).

4. Initialize the headset to restore factory settings: This will restore the headphones to factory settings and clear out any cumulative software glitches that may be causing the problem. You can follow the instructions to reset the headphones here:

We're glad that you like the sound quality of the headphones. It's unfortunate that you're not having the best experience with the Speak-to-Chat function. The Speak-to-Chat mode activates when it detects the speech of the person wearing the headset, but in rare cases, it may activate in response to the voices of other people, ambient environmental sounds, transportation announcements, etc. Disable Speak-to-Chat in cases where the Speak-to-Chat mode frequently activates by accident. You do have the option to turn this feature off by holding your 2 fingers to the touch sensor control panel until you hear the voice guidance say, “Speak-to-chat deactivated”.
