For optimum performance, please make sure that the headphones software is updated as it includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements. If you are experiencing sound issues or feel that the sound quality during video conferencing is poor, please make sure that you have sufficient internet connection. Try different apps or a different computer to determine if the issue is with the headphones, the app, or the computer. In case of an unstable Bluetooth connection, use a wired connection from the headphones to the video conferencing device.

#1 For Noise Canceling Headphones

At least to the standard of Noise Canceling is concerned. The set I have at least a year old and still and great condition. Until Sony or the competition can produce something better, these will remain my goto.

For the people who wants the XM5s so bad and the price is an issue, you can definitely go for the XM4s. The only difference between them are the number of mics they have on the headphones itself. Almost so amazing

It is amazing for listening to music, but fukc, it is awful when using it as headphones with phone calls, discord, zoom, or anything else. The microphone pics up EVERYTHING and the noise cancelling changes randomly when doing stuff, which is really annoying and I can't figure out how to turn it off. Also, touchpad instead of tactile buttons is waaay more annoying that I thought. I'm past the return date, but I'm still going to get the Bose or anything else that doesn't auto-disconnect when I adjust the ear-piece.

We're glad that you like the sound quality of the headphones. It's unfortunate that you are not having a complete experience because of the mic quality, noise canceling function, and touch controls.
For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is updated (via the Sony Headphones Connect app). These steps may also help when using the mic function of the headphones:
-Re-establish the connection between the source device and the headset.
-Select HFP or HSP for the profile.
-You can also check the settings of the app that you are using for mic sensitivity if available.

In the factory setting, the built-in proximity sensor in the left unit and the built-in acceleration sensors in each of the left and right units detect when the headset is attached to or removed from your ears, and the headset automatically controls the touch sensor control panel’s operation, powering off, pausing music playback, etc. (Wearing detection). By using the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, you can change the settings of the wearing detection automatic music playback pause and resume function and the wearing detection automatic power off function (the battery saving function).
