Great set of noise canceling headphones

Very user friendly & amazing the battery life

I found the app with its many features were fun to play with. Within an hour my left ear began to feel discomforted, I gave myself a week to adjust but couldn’t come to finding it comfortable.

Will Not Connect Bluetooth - XM3 Better Overall

I upgraded to the WH-1000XM3 and it sounds better and is more comfortable than the WH-1000. The reviews out there for the WH-1000XM4 report it to be so much better than the XM3 version and we needed another headphone for my son, so I decided to try out the XM4. Both my XM3 and this new XM4 are updated to the latest Firmware through the Sony app. I didn't find the XM4 to be more comfortable than the XM3. In fact, I felt it had less padding and was not as comfortable as the XM3. The side controls on the XM4 cup are not sensitive enough and often nothing works when compared to the XM3! I could easily connect to my cell phone with the XM4 and conduct updates but I primarily use the headphones to listen to my TV through a Bluetooth transmitter. The XM3 has worked fine for a few years but I was going to give them to my son and use the new XM4 but no matter what I did I could not get the XM4 to connect to the Etekcity Bluetooth Transmitter & Reciever Adapter (EA-TR1)! I reset the transmitter several times and was always able to get the XM3 to connect but the XM4 would not connect via Bluetooth. I am not able to provide a sound comparison for this reason and have decided to return the XM4 and keep my XM3 and get my son another brand. Over comparison of XM3 to XM4: - XM4 not as comfortable. - XM4 controls spotty. - XM4 Bluetooth connection to varied devices is spotty. At this time I can not recommend the XM4 when compared to the XM3. Also my experience with the original and the XM3 was without issue unlike the XM4.

We regret to hear that you had to return the WH1000XM4 because it didn't perform to your standards. The headphones feature an adjustable headband to achieve the best fit and comfort.
The sensor of the touch sensor control panel is built into the flat surface of the right unit. Operate within the range of the sensor. When you swipe your finger forward/backward or up/down on the touch sensor control panel, the touch sensor control panel may not work correctly depending on the angle at which the headset is worn or the direction your head is facing:
a. When you swipe your finger forward/backward, make the movements perpendicular to the headband.
b. When you swipe your finger up/down, make the movements parallel to the headband.
When pairing the headset, make sure that it is in pairing mode. Turn on the headset when you pair the headset with a device for the first time after you bought it or after you initialized the headset (the headset has no pairing information). The headset enters pairing mode automatically. When you pair a second or subsequent device (the headset has pairing information for other devices), press and hold the (power) button for about 7 seconds. Check that the indicator (blue) repeatedly flashes twice in a row. You will hear the voice guidance say, “Bluetooth pairing”.
These steps might have changed your experience. Sony takes all feedback seriously. Rest assured that this will help us improve our products. Thanks for sharing your review and we hope you consider Sony in your future purchase.

Great headphones if you don't get defective unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.They are great headphones with noise cancellation (to the point that it bothers my mom from having no sound and sometimes yelling doesn't even work to get my attention with them on) and great sound but 2 out of the 4 I have used had poping and static sounds on the left side after roughly month and a half (when I try to contact Sony about the problem I get put on hold intell it auto stop the call, and no reply when I get the problem across throw messages) (It sound like I am not the only one the has this problem) and the other 2 die at almost a year from the constant use (a vary small plastic piece snaps from the puting on and off the headphones). All 4 had the small issue whenever someone was talking or I was laughing it automatically change sound cancellation to transport voice sometimes even though the setting for it was off (I know it was off because when I turned on it happened instantly when someone or me started talking instead of randomly and rarely). (1st sound and 2nd die from Amazon, 3rd die and 4th sound from BestBuy now waiting for the 5th from BestBuy from 4th exchange)
