Great noise canceling. Able to connect to multiple devices at the same time. Great sound. Comfortable to where for extended hrs. Long battery life. Able to be used wired or over Bluetooth. Only notable complaint is it feeling a little more like its made out of plastic, giving a cheaper feel when compared to previous models as they are very lightweight. They have been well worth it so far

I went back and forth numerous times when I was deciding to buy these or not. $350 for headphones is a lot for me, I'm a budget kind of guy (some would call me cheap). I do love music and my wife was encouraging me to splurge on myself, so I kept coming back. Then I couldn't decide between these, the Bose Quiet Comfort 35s the Bose 700s and the Microsoft Surface Headphones. After reading a ton of reviews it came down to the newest Microsoft Surface Headphones and these. I chose these because the build quality seemed higher and there were significant complaints about the band breaking on the Microsoft set. After having these for a couple of weeks, I am extremely happy with my choice. They are by far the best sounding headphones I have ever heard. They are also very comfortable on my head and they stay comfortable for hours. The active noise canceling works very well and the "touch the right ear with your hand" feature to hear ambient sound is awesome. I have enjoyed many genres of music with these and found they replicate the music very well all ranges sound awesome. Even though I was leery to spend $350 on 'phones. After having done so I would do it again without hesitation. These things rock!

Its a good product. I ended up returning simply because I don't think they are worth the money. Full price 300 on sale 250. Its a lot for a product i wont use every day and a product that has a lot of reviews complaining about the hinges breaking and sony not doing anything for their costumers. I bought the xm4 and the xb910n together and honestly the xm4 are better. The anc is a bit better. The sound is more balanced and they have speak to chat and a sensor that pauses the music whe you take them off. The xb910n are missing these features. And they are not as balanced soundwise like the xm4. But. I paid 120 dollars (sale price) for the xb910n vs 250 to 300. I couldn't justify the price and the anc on the xb910n is not bad. The sound is good once you play with the EQ a bit, the battery life is better than the xm4s and the codecs supported by the xb910n are exactly the same as the xm4 so hi res audio is possible to be listened to on both. I am a musician so i care how well music sounds. But i dont consider myself an audiophile. I hope this is helpful. I enjoy tech but i tend to be a little frugal and i also dont find important if someone notices if im wearing a 250 dollars headphones or 150 dollar headphones as long as i get what im looking for. The sound, the bass or even the way I can customize my sound through the app is just amazing! So comfortable as well! I can wear for hours without any discomfort!

I travel a lot for work, on various transportation modes. These help to identify eqch scenario and cancel the background noise effevtively. I can do it either via the headphones on the side, or through the easy to use app. I made it through three separate airports with half a battery to spare on a recent trip north. I was also able to walk and talk via my phone with them on too, and had no complaints from the other end about background noise or static. I don’t use these at a PC for gaming since they’re bluetooth/nfc (they’re not meant for high speed gaming!), but they do connect to a pc as well as a tablet very easily, and the music / spoken word sounds great there, too. Good bit of kit for a traveler or wfh type user.

Great set of headphones. It's everything I've ever wanted but couldn't talk myself into getting. I finally decided to splurge on myself and boy am I glad I did. Noise canceling, comfort, and sound are all fantastic, while the battery is spectacular. I was iffy on the touch controls but they are super easy, work exceptionally well, and are are simple to use. Absolutely love them.

To set context, these are my first pair of Over the Ear headphones. Normally I use in ear for working out and moving around. I bought these on a whim at a great price and I don't even begin to second guess the cost. I'm not an audiophile, for me these headphones are crisp and clear, the bass is solid and I haven't been able to compare the noise cancellation. My favorite feature is being able to connect to two devices, being home and being able to put these on and still get messages from my phone or doorbell is awesome! I have received good feedback from people who I talk to on the phone - a huge plus!! For someone who likes music, and can wear these (comfortably) for hours at a time - one of the best purchases for 2020. I'm still using the in-ear for workouts, but these for everything else. Buy them on sale and don't spend the money for anything more expensive - just pick a color. I bought silver thinking it is different, and since they are on my head I don't care - but when I look at them on the stand - I wished I would have picked the dark blue. These are everything positive that other reviewers have mentioned. Other items such as quality are on point and no issues, I haven't had a chance to run out the battery - but appreciate they are USB-C, so I can use the same charger as my other equipment. Buy them!

[Employee of bestbuy] I've been planning to buy a pair of Sony 1000X headphones since the original MDR-1000X came out, and I finally pulled the trigger and picked up a pair of 1000X-M4s on Black Friday. I knew they were good headphones—I've always known they're great headphones—but they STILL exceeded my expectations. They're comfortable. They have excellent noise cancellation. And the audio quality, especially on the high end (vocals, snares) are HANDS DOWN the best I've ever heard. I genuinely couldn't believe how crisp and smooth the audio is. They're feature rich, especially with the companion app. I'm not the biggest fan of the touch controls, but that also might just be something I need to adjust to. Seriously, buy these headphones. You will not regret it.

Got these headphones about a month ago and they have been great. Battery life is a strong point as well comfort and all the different configuration options just confirm these are top of the line. Sound quality is also outstanding. Got them in blue (only on Best Buy) and they price matched them almost no questions asked. Couldn't be happier with the product and the store.

The quality of the sound is amazing and it's typical of Sony products. They are very comfortable to wear for several hours. I say A PLUS for anyone considering buying this model!

Seriously, way better than expected. I trialed the AirPods Pro, returned them after a long flight, and the XM5, also returned them. The xm4s are the whole package. -Great compact, semi hard, case because the headphones fold. -Excellent Bluetooth connectivity in my experience (iPhone/Mac) user. -Excellent sound that is tunable through the app. (Missing on apple) -light weight. -noise pass through is the one minor thing that almost as good as apple. I don’t use it much, so I don’t care. The noise cancellation is just as good, if not better than the AirPods Max and xm5s. The xm5s can be buggy in my experience. From a pros/cons side of things the XM4, beat the xm5s, Bose, and AirPod max’s by a lot. Even if they were all priced the same, I’d still chose the xm4 it’s a bonus that you can find them cheaper than their rivals. Way to go Sony! Don’t get rid of this model.

Literally changed my life forever. It’s so comfortable and it’s so easy to throw on. It has a very clean look and it sound really good. It doesn’t feel like a weight on your head, it feels really light. It’s so amazing.

Great sound, good battery life, noise canceling is up there with the best of the best. Found them on sale for $178. These XM4’s sound considerably better than 90% of the headphones in this price range. I can comfortably wear these for hours on end. If you value sound quality, noise canceling, battery life, and comfort you cannot go wrong with these headphones.

Great sound, very comfortable and excellent noise cancellation. Try these watching a movie and you will be hearing sounds you never get to hear. Like you were inside the movie.

The headphones have excellent sound quality and are super comfortable. I especially like using them on a long-haul international flight to comfortably block out airplane noise.

My daughter bought these for herself and they work really well! She said they are comfortable, sound great, and work great at noise cancelling.
