    Very average sounding headphones. I've heard better at half the cost. Also, Bluetooth connectivity is mediocre. Please don't buy these.

    Music Interruption

    When I listen to music I did not know that if I make a light sound the music stops and I have to find a way to resume it. I did not know that and it is not what I prefer. I would like to return it and if possible exchange it for one that does not interfere with the music.

      Hi badHPprinter, We’re sorry to hear you did not have a great experience with your Sony WH1000XM4 headphones. It is possible that the "speak-to-chat" feature has been enabled on your headphones. If Speak-to-Chat is enabled beforehand, the Speak-to-Chat mode starts automatically when you talk to someone or if the headphones detect an audio. The headset pauses or mutes the music which is being played and captures the voice of the person you are conversing with on the microphone to make it easier to hear.

      To disable the Speak-to-Chat feature, Hold 2 fingers to the touch sensor control panel until you hear the voice guidance say, “Speak-to-chat deactivated”.
      You can also use the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app to switch between enabled/disabled, change the sensitivity of the automatic audio detection/Speak-to-Chat mode.

    Bluetooth keeps disconnecting. Otherwise, would be good headphones. I’m starting to wish I had purchased from a different company.

    The Sony Vs Bose Battle Continues

    I bought these on sale and really enjoy them for bass-heavy music but Im not sure Ill keep them if the QC45s are even slightly improved over the QC35s. I like the USB-C and quick charging function and the proximity sensor that pauses music when you take the headphones off. Not a fan of the gimmicky touch controls that are not always super responsive or accurate. The noise cancelling is noticeably much more improved over the QC35s. As far as comfort, it isnt enough of a difference to prefer one over the other in my opinion. What does matter more aside from the ANC is the sound quality. When I listen to Hip-Hop/Trap/Dubstep, I appreciate the bass but by comparison to the QC35s, the XM4s can sound slightly 'cloudy' or muffled. While I love the immersive bass that the Sony provides, I prefer a crisp and clear sounding snare drum that can sound muffled. The counter to the Sony is that while the Bose can sound crisp and clear, in doing so it has a brigher tone which can be a little sharp on the ears especially at high volumes compared to the Sony. Once I get the QC45s tried on, I will attempt to update. Bottom line, these Sonys are a no brainer especially at 250. It has all the features you can expect and some other intriguing gimmicks too

    Good long term purchase

    I have been using the headphones for almost 2 and a half years now and it has never failed on me. Things I have liked: The noise cancellation is fantastic. Battery life is still good. Music and audio is great. Fit on my ear is comfortable. Build quality is good. Things that I disliked: Connection not as fluid when initially turned on especially compared to apple airpods. Mic is a potato. I had to get an external wired mic attached to it for better video conferencing.

    Sound Quality - 5/10 Mediocre ANC - 7/10 Its Okay Comfort - 6/10 (Uncomfortable headband) MultiPairing - 1/10 This device struggles to maintain 2 devices. PC Pairing - 1/10 So much of a Hussle and it still wont work right. This headphones were not made with PC in mind. I made sure it was updated, watched tons of tutorials to try to make it better. Overall - Not Worth $350+ Look somewhere else.

      We regret to hear that it hasn't lived up to your expectations. You can use the equalizer of the app to tailor-fit the sound quality to your needs. The noise canceling function is effective in low-frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off. Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.

    Outstanding headphones; Refined quality

    These are a worthy replacement for the Sony XM3s. They took everything great about the XM3 and refined them. PROS: +Very full sound with excellent bass +Excellent battery life +Type C charging +Ability to connect to 2 devices at once +Comfortable head band and plush earcups, less "cabin pressure" than many competing headphones. +Superior Bluetooth range to the XM3 and Bose QC45 CONS: -The plastic components can creak if you move your head a lot. However, it's much better than the XM3 and isn't noticeable when music is playing. Overall, these are my favorite headphones and are well worth the investment, especially when they're on sale.

    Poor Connection

    Voice quality is good, but Bose was way easier to use. I am now stuck with an expensive headset that when I pick up a phone call, it doesn’t automatically connect when using an iPhone. The caller hears dead silence until I press the right button to connect to the headset. I’ve tried every setting imaginable with no fix.

Instead of answering the call using your phone, when you hear the ring tone, tap the touch sensor control panel twice quickly (with an interval of about 0.4 seconds) to receive the call.
      Please note: When receiving a call by operating smartphones or mobile phones, some smartphones or mobile phones receive a call with the phone instead of the headset. With an HFP or HSP connection, switch the call to the headset by holding your finger to the headset’s touch sensor control panel until it switches, or by using your smartphone or mobile phone.

    Incredible Noise Canceling

    I’ve always been satisfied with my regular air pods but once I moved in to an apartment with upstairs neighbors who stomp around all day and night I decided to try out noise canceling headphones and see if that would help keep me from going crazy. Without doing a lot of research I came across these and I’m so glad I did, the noise canceling/adaptive sound control feature is incredible and I can’t see how any other headphone could possibly do a better job. I happened to buy them on sale ($278) but they are well worth the full price which is still significantly lower than air pod max headphones. I would genuinely go crazy if I didn’t have these, they’re super light and comfortable, you quickly forget that you’re even wearing them. I’ve never tried out any other noise cancelling headphones but I doubt I’d be able to find a better pair!

    Faulty usb c port

    These headphones are great but they have poor build quality. The USB-c port is very fickle and mostly doesn’t work. Leaving you with a paper weight. Do yourself a favor buy another brand that stands by its products, like bose

    The hinge broke as I was taking it off my head not even 6 months after purchase. I do not recommend this product or Sony's support and poor customer service. Buy Bose or Apple for better customer service and quality product.

    I went from Bose to these. And I’m going back to Bose. For some dumb reason I watched you tube reviewers and believed these could be better but they aren’t. I work in a very loud area and the Bose sound better and have better cancellation. Great reviews are coming from people that haven’t had both
