They're great! Only issues is the touch actions on the side of the headphones can be a bit annoying. I set them off sometimes when i am adjusting the ears. Other than that, sound quality is great and they are very comfortable

Packaging • When you spend this much money on premium wireless headphones like the Sony WH1000XM4 you expect every aspect to reflect premium quality. The box containing the product was substantial and had a quality feel to it. An inner box slides out from the outer sleeve. Inside you find the relatively compact carrying case which can stow the accessories – USB Type C cable, Headphone cable for wired use, plug in adapter for in flight use, carrying case, as well as the headphones themselves which can be configured to nest inside in a very space saving configuration. The case itself feels quite substantial construction-wise and should protect the headphones from damage once closed up quite nicely. The case has netting on one side which can be used to stow something – I am not sure just what yet, other than a pamphlet of some sort. It also has a loop that can be used to hang the case from a hook or other means to anchor it. The zipper of the case is an attractive copper color and this in contrast to the black case sets it apart as well. • Removing the headphones from the case, you immediately notice the “soft touch” matte finish of the headphone housing. The top of the head band and ear cushions exude a quality soft feel and may be a soft leather or a nice imitation. It is akin to an expensive leather chair or high end automobile. A place you want to be. It is setting the stage for high expectations. • The overall design is clean, sleek, and attractive. Not goofy looking at all. • I am not a fan of pictures vs. words when instructing consumers the controls and set up of products. Maybe it is just me, but a video or a least a few additional words are helpful. Background • Prior to receiving my Sony headphones, I already owned two wireless in ear headphones – an inexpensive pair (about $30) and a higher end pair (about $200). Both have served their purpose. I use the cheaper pair when I am doing outside chores or something I think may cause them to fall out. Although I have installed the smaller earbud cushion on each, after extended wear I am still troubled by a bit of ear irritation. That said, when Sony’s new wireless headphones were released, I decided to give my head a break and make the leap to an over the ear design. • Although I have always liked to listen to music – trust me, I have been listening to music for a long time, I pride myself in never getting stuck in any particular time period. For example someone may say “back in my day, I used to like to listen to….”. Guess what – every day is still “my day”, and my taste for music has evolved and grown with the passing years. During my college years, we used to anxiously wait for a new release of a favorite artist. It was an event that we all gathered to and listened to intently for the subtleties of the track. Testing these headphones reminded me of those days. Testing • Similar to my in-ear phones, controls for calls, volume, and track changes can be accomplished with taps and in this case swipes. All controls worked as advertised. Phone calls were easy to manage. The app installed in my phone was relatively straight forward. • I received my headphones just before my family was leaving for a vacation on the shores of Lake Ontario near Sodus Point NY. I was able to do some initial testing in my home office. There I discovered great sound, clarity, and detail that my wireless earbuds were not able to produce as well. Forcing myself to limit my activity to just listening to the music rather than performing another task at the same time took me back to those college years when we allowed ourselves to focus on the details of the music. To sum up the experience with these phones – they were fantastic. • On the shores of Lake Ontario I set up my lounge chair and made some music selections that were on my phone. While there and listening to some of my favorite selections, I performed a noise canceling performance test. While lakeside in my chair my wife approached and was determined to speak to me. I could see her lips move, but I heard not one word. It reminded me of what my wife does not hear every day at home when I speak to her. She sees my lips move, but cannot hear (or react) to any words that I think are coming out of my mouth. Therefore these headphones pass the noise canceling test with flying colors. I continued to listen to a couple of hours of music lakeside and found it to be a great experience – comfort-wise and in terms of audio quality. Conclusion • These are great headphones which I can strongly recommend. I look forward to many hours with them in the future. But I will still use those cheap in-ear phones for dirty work, just like I will use my truck rather than my new car for the nasty stuff.

The Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones offer good sound quality and effective noise cancellation. The battery life is impressive, and the comfort level is decent for extended use. However, the touch controls can be a bit finicky at times.

Just got back from a cross-country trip comprising five separate flights. Sometimes I listened to music or podcasts via a bluetooth connection to my iPod or iPhone. Sometimes I plugged the headphones into the video console via the (included) cable with RCA jacks. And from time to time I just kept them on to minimize the noise of the plane. The headphones provided great noise cancellation in all scenarios, and the battery life was great. I'm still figuring out some of the features and functions, such as the auto-pause when you take off the headphones, and I haven't used these in a call yet, so I can't verify everything that these headphones are supposed to do. But the sound quality is great, and I won't get on a plane again without these.

These are very comfortable and the sound is great. Perfect on a plane. The touch controls on the the right ear are little hard to figure out

I feel like these headphones paid for themselves on this last trip to Europe. The batter life is amazingly long, enough for an international flight and the subsequent connecting flight. These headphones improve the sound quality and clarity of in-flight movies so much they make the trip seem shorter because the movies are better. They even helped block the wailing of a crying baby in the row behind me. I cannot recommend these enough. Solid case, and all the attachments you need to connect to phones, tablets, or the in-flight entertainment.

Pricey but great headphones, noise cancelation is real nice. Very comfortable, well made and the case is great as well. Sound is amazing as well. Deep enough bass for Hip Hop lovers.

This is probably the best purchase I've ever made for myself. They're very comfortable, look stylish and best of all have fantastic sound quality. I have always had issues understanding lyrics in many songs, but with these headphones I have heard more lyrics than ever before. The battery life is excellent and the touch controls work well. The only real complaint I have with them is that the ambient sound being piped in in the ambient sound mode is rather crunchy sounding and greatly exaggerates some noises.

Honestly the best pair of headphones I've ever owned. I've owned plenty of beats, skull candy's, and Ipods but none of come close to the sound quality, comfortability and customization of these. 10/10 would recommend.

Literally the best over the ear headphones. I originally wanted the airpod maxes, but these were the more affordable option. I absolutely LOVE them. they're sleek, great quality and I rave about them to everyone. They're really nice for travel/going on walks with, or when I need good noise cancelling. The battery life is AMAZING. i've had them for like 6 months now, and I literally can go a week or two without charging my headphones. My only thing is that I couldn't figure out how to connect to other devices that wasn't my phone, but honestly I don't even care much about that.

My new favorite headphones. Battery life is amazing, one charge lasts me a week and i listen to music A LOT. Noise canceling is no joke, but the ambient sound is so hepful. Headphone settings are a bit difficult to learn but once you get a hang of it, it is so easy. They are so comfortable and lightweight, which is a bit of a downside for when working out, so keep that in mind. As someone who has used Beats, JBL, and Boise, I can genuinely say that these are my favorite.

i really liked them, but ultimately decided to return them. i've listed pros and cons below: - app not user friendly / intuitive to use - hot!! makes my head feel so warm - so much pressure in my ears and head like im on a plane makes me slightly nauseouus - $279 pre-tax (on sale) - no way up to 30 hours of wear... came at 100% out of the box and already at 50% after a couple hours of wear at most - sound pretty good out of the box - i look like a space goof - slide off my head so i fee like im constantly readjusting at the gym - audio voice girl sounds normal - touch sensors don't work half the time like im trying to skip tracks and it registers are volume down - automatically pause when you remove them!! so helpful

I love these headphones! I had to buy two pairs because of a water related accident the first time and both times the headphones worked great (obviously before they went into a bag with an unsecured water bottle) The damaged pair I actually still use and keep with my computer, as the headphone jack still works even if the wireless part doesn't. The noise canceling is great, and the sound quality is even better. I prefer these over the more recent model.

I bought these for my husband for his birthday. He has hearing aids, and when he is on a plane trying to listen to a book or movie, he has to turn up the volume on his hearing aids so loudly to hear over the engine noise that he was afraid of further hearing damage. These headphones solve the problem! He can now hear what he wants to hear without threatening his hearing. I tried them on, on the plane and was absolutely amazed at how they drown out virtually all noise. They also fold so the case for them is not as big as I thought it would be. All in all, a great product!

These headphones sound and feel great. They are worth the price. I got them for my son and he loves them. I have used them a few times as well and the sound quality is amazing. I will be buying me my own pair as well. The battery lasts for hours. It was easy to get connected.

I think this product was fantastic, would buy again. The noise cancelling headphones do their job and I don't hear anything around me. I do just about anything with these on including workout and they don't slip or anything. I've had them for a while now and they have never failed me.

The app is a must to get the full customized features! The headphones only recognize my voice so that's the only time the music stops. Otherwise noise cancelling does exactly what it supposed to. Now when speaking you won't be yelling at people because it does amplify the noise a little. You have the option to turn that feature off. The touch features are simple & easy to remember. All the options of being able to turn certain features off and on makes these headphones wonderful so you aren't stuck with the one size fits all experience. I also got a full charge extremely fast. The experience is well worth trying to understand how much there is to like about them.
