Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.In the loudest of loud airplanes with the most talkative neighbors in the seats around me I've found studio quality audio and noise cancellation with these Sony headphones. The hires audio sounds I'm able to get via bluetooth are fantastic. I did purchase the adapters for both USB-C and Apple Lightning so I could hardwire to either my iPad Pro or the Apple iPhone 13 Pro but I'm honestly not sure its needed.

It's finally the time to upgrade! The Mark 4 has excellent sound quality and NC capabilities. I love the multi-point function, which solved a long-standing pain point for the 1000X series and is perfect for working from home.

I've been eyeing the XM5's for several month and watching the price on them, but these went on sale for what I considered an unbeatable price of $200, so I decided to pull the trigger on these for now. I'm not typically the guy who buys the older version of anything when there is the "new and improved" model to get, but I couldn't pass this deal up. For the price, these cans are awesome, and I wish that I hadn't waiting so long to buy them. These will be my go-to for music listening and traveling from this point forward! if you're on the fence about getting these, you should give them a try!

Perfect Feature Set

I bought these to replace my Beats Studios from 2011 after they finally kicked the bucket and everything is a huge upgrade. The ANC, features in the app, auto pause, two devices at once, ambient sound when talking to anyone. I could go on an on but they aree perfect for my needs as a software developer working from home. I would recommend these to anyone as these are the best headphones I have ever owned.

However, when I do use them, they’re a NOISE CANCELLATION life saver. I honestly would recommend these over the AirPod pro max. Not only for price, but quality of sound not brand. (as someone who has just about every apple product).

Also, the touch buttons are trash. Though this is made up for by the best in class noise cancellation.

Sound quality is unmatched and the noise canceling aspect is amazing. I dont even have to turn them on at times. Ive worn then on a plane a while back for noise cancelling and to habe a bit of pressure releif and it honestly helped alot.

Much lighter/confortable to wear and like the ability to tailor the EQ to my preference. My only to knocks are connecting to 2 devices is a bit clunky (had issues of it constantly connecting/disconnecting to 2nd device while listening to my primary device which was annoying) and the APM seem to me have a better transparency/ambient mode.

The headphones sound very balanced, musical and are very versatile making it easy to listen to various sources. The noise cancelling works well as does the microphone. The songs encoded with the 360 Reality Audio add another dimension to listening. The programmability of these headphones is unbelievable and quite useful. These headphones deserve a front seat with my other equipment and deliver on all fronts.
