I spend a lot of time on the computer, with kids and spouse working around the house. We're all on slightly different schedules, which results in noise and disruptions (often, when it's least convenient). This headset has been a fantastic investment in sanity. I tried several different versions of noise cancelling headphones. These were extremely comfortable when I first tried them on. After 2 weeks of near daily, extended wear, they are still just as comfortable. The noise cancelling is excellent. Even with a lot of noise in the background, I can pay attention to online meetings (or just good music). Even without the active noise canceling, the headset itself does a reasonable job of keeping out low-levels of background noise. I charge them about every other night and have not had any concerns with battery life.

Yeah..... wow......really am I hearing this.. Sony is known for sound and high quality. These are an audiophiles....go to. Light weight. Can connect to more than one device. I have a Sony XBR z9f 65 TV. It connects with ease. Note 10 plus connects with ease. Easy n seemless transition. Here's how noise cancelation works....my shoulder has to be tapped on to get my attention when I'm walking or doing errands outside. For starters dont crank up the sound....train ur ears to listen at 25% volume and go up to 40%. A good head set does need to be blasted on high volume. From 25% to 40% your ears will listen to more sound than you never heard. Its like putting on glasses for the first time. Spend money on these headsets. 30 hr battery plus u can use a cord, can connect to multiple devices.

Very satisfied with these. I had the Bose 45s and they were great but lacked the bass. The beats are good too but they gave me ear fatigue. These are a good mix of both. For being wireless headphones, the sound is clear, full, well balanced and the bass is present, pretty clear and punchy. Having the ability to EQ on the app is cool too. I recently flew to Italy and the noise canceling works great and they were comfortable enough to wear the whole 12 hour flight. As a musician, they also work great as in-ears both in live and in studio settings.

Did a lot of research on noise cancelling headphones and these still beat my expectations. I would give an A+ for overall sound, noise cancellation, comfort and design aesthetics. I listen to all genres of music, the sound is amazing and offers full EQ adjustments to suit your needs. I'm not an audiophile, but think most people would agree with the sound quality at this price point. I'm a bit nervous about the durability of these headphones despite not having any issues. They are so light that when I fold them up to put them in the case, I can only hope the components won't break from standard usage. That said, well worth the money! Nice job Sony!

This product works exactly like it says. It is very comfortable over my ears and the charge lasts a long time.

Absolutely love these headphones. The noise cancellation works great for tuning out background noise and helping me focus while at work or the gym. They stay secure on your head without that feeling of suffocation, and are comfortable to wear with glasses and earrings. The equalizer offers enough to perfectly balance any genre of music and the clear bass will make any bass lover like myself salivate. Definitely beyond satisfied with my purchase and would recommend anyone looking at these to just go for it.

I love these headphones, the noise canceling is great, they can save battery when you take them off of your head and the way you can connect with two different devices is the best feature in my book! I recommend these headphones, once you get a pair for yourself, you'll instantly love them!

Bought these headphones after having bought speakers and other headphones from them. What makes these stand out is not only the superb sound quality but the companion app that comes with it. The app allows for equalizer customization to the max. Noise cancellation is quite nice, especially being the passenger in a car or on a train, bus, ect. The other Bose headphones for around 399 have better noise cancellation but only by a small margin that I barely noticed. Just as Sony always touts it self, the bass on these bad boys can reach a perfect level without having fuzz. It takes a bit of playing around with the equalizer to find the best fit for you though. I’m a college student at the moment and it work great with zoom calls and phone calls. The call feature is great. It also has a track pad on the right ear cup that you can swipe on at different angles to lower, higher volume, skip songs, ect. The reason this is a 4 star and not a 5 start is that after about 8-10 hours of straight use (don’t judge me) the pressure from the crown of my head was painful, which is to be expected. Also, there was only one instance where the audio would stop and play for some unknown reason but was fixed with a simple off and on. I’d recommend these headphones over Bose, JBL, and other brands. My favorites BY FAR!

I always wanted to buy Sony headphones and XM4 was right in my budget. They have excellent sound quality, connectivity and amazing battery life. They are comfortable and my ears don’t hurt when I’m using them for longer time periods. I have started enjoying my music even more. They are my companions at home, work, and travelling. Hands down they are the best over the ear headphones I have ever used.

I never really had a pair of nice over-the-ear headphones before but had gotten tired of earbuds and wanted to get something sturdy and quality to last me for a long time, and I’m so glad I chose these. Not only are they super soft, but completely cover/cup my ears so there’s no pressure on my cartilage piercings (something I was initially worried about causing irritation). I have a pretty small head so they fit comfortably without extending outward, but are still tight enough to stay in place on my head without slipping. I also absolutely love that I can switch between the different equalizer options to cater to what kind of media I’m listening to (audiobooks, different genres of music, etc). The noise cancelation isn’t as powerful as the AirPods, but it definitely does the trick. I also deeply enjoy that you can adjust how much ambient noise you want and the feature that allows noise transparency/audio pause when the headphones detect you talking or the headphones are removed. Has been used and helpful more times than I can count already. Overall, I’m super happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to spend a pretty penny on some headphones.

These headphone are truly comfortable and pair easily with my iPhone. The companion app allows you to change the sound profile to your liking and also allows you to disable the swipe controls on the side of the earcups. The noise cancelling is great compared to my old headphones and is best-in-class from what I've heard. The battery life is surprisingly long (considering the weight of the headphones) and will comfortably last for over a day. That is more than enough for trans-Atlantic trips to Europe. The only thing is that I wish that the earcups were removable so that I can replace them when the time comes. The hard case is nice since it has a slot for all needed cables. I can confidently put the headphones in my tight bag without worrying about the headphones breaking.

Sony headphones are awesome, sound and battery use are awesome

These are hands down the best headphones I've ever had. The sound amazing, they are comfortable, and best of all because the XM6s are out these are at a perfect price.

Pretty good noise canceling. Not audiophile sound quality but good enough to listen to all your favorites. Good battery life. Got myself a pair and bought another pair for my dad i liked them so much. Pretty comfortable. Not a big fan of that fake leather stuff just because if you sweat it can get sticky but thats partly me being a headphone snob.

Finally decided to pick these up the other day after eyeing them for a while. These are my first over-ear headphones from Sony, and I recently purchased the XM4 earbuds which were my first earbuds from Sony. All I can really say is that I'm blown away by these headphones. ANC is almost unsettlingly good, comfort is near-flawless, and sound quality is next-level. Sony's android app lets you customize them to your liking and the integration with voice assistant is something I haven't seen with any other brand. The head band itself makes a bit of a pressure point after wearing them for 1-2 hours straight but still nothing near the long-term discomfort of other brands. Can't recommend these enough.

Really terrific, the noise cancelation is wonderful! Sound reproduction is very good and it fits my oversized head. Gonna get another set for work.

I was using my Sony MDR XB-950N1 which also has noise cancellation. I want to upgrade the headphone hence looking between 1000mX4 and Bose 700. I have tried these headphones numerous times in the product demo area. I felt Sony is having an upper hand on noise cancellation based on the demo i had in the shop's noisy environment. Sound signature is little on the bass side but most of ppl will be pleased with it and can control it in the app. The main difference from my previous sony is the comfort in wearing even for hours. This is amazing companion especially WFH situation, this will help to focus on your activity. The battery life is amazing, redefined the VFM in the premium headphone category. If you got this during the sale then this is a steal.

Amazing. Sound is clear and noise cancellation works well. I love the feature where you press your palm on the side to hear ambient sound when you want. Battery is phenomenal—I’ve had these headphones for a month, used them almost every day for an hour on average and only had to charge them once. Comfortable as well, even on a small head like mine.
