These are great for walking/running/just listening to music. They are comfy on the ears as well. The noise cancelling feature is great too! Easy to use. I actually bought these for my boyfriend to use on the plane when he comes to visits me and it works really well for him!

I honestly loved the sound quality imbedded within these when I had them. My partner has her pair still & I try to snag em from here when they’re not in use. If you’re looking for a great pair of headphones for your commute or just mere enjoyment of music, podcast, heck even tiktoks lol these are a really solid pair of headphones. I will say that when using them to speak up while using the mic as it picks up the voice fairly low & at a decent quality. It’s no shure mic but it gets the job done & battery on these is fantastic, no problems whatsoever for myself & everyone else i know who also owns a pair. App is user friendly and lots of configuring can be done, there’s literally a setting for everyone! Enjoy.

Purchased in 2024 and it's still a great headphone that delivers crisp and clear sounds. I know there's an updated version, but this one still delivers and is cheaper than the updated one. Connecting to a device (or even devices) is seamless. Battery life is pretty good, can easily last a whole day and still have some juice left. Overall, it's a worthwhile investment and it even comes with a carrying case.

Seriously, way better than expected. I trialed the AirPods Pro, returned them after a long flight, and the XM5, also returned them. The xm4s are the whole package. -Great compact, semi hard, case because the headphones fold. -Excellent Bluetooth connectivity in my experience (iPhone/Mac) user. -Excellent sound that is tunable through the app. (Missing on apple) -light weight. -noise pass through is the one minor thing that almost as good as apple. I don’t use it much, so I don’t care. The noise cancellation is just as good, if not better than the AirPods Max and xm5s. The xm5s can be buggy in my experience. From a pros/cons side of things the XM4, beat the xm5s, Bose, and AirPod max’s by a lot. Even if they were all priced the same, I’d still chose the xm4 it’s a bonus that you can find them cheaper than their rivals. Way to go Sony! Don’t get rid of this model.

Excellent sound and very comfortable. My only issue is that when you press the power button when the headphones are on it is supposed to tell you how much battery life is left but it always says battery is fully charged even when that is not the case.

I have been using the Sony-WH-1000XM4 wireless headphones in Midnight Blue for 3 months now. I bought these originally to help with flying anxiety and they served that purpose well but I didn't expect how much I would use them beyond that. I now use them in conjunction with my earpods for mobile listening, swapping between the two depending on the situation. Overall These headphones are amazing. I am very happy with the sound quality. Soundwise gives me everything I want and you can adjust things like the bass in the sony headphones app. The app works well enough and allows you to set the devices your headphones connect to (can have 2 connected simultaneously). The noise canceling performs best on constant sounds (which I think is where all noise canceling functions best). Additionally the sound pass through feature I have found to work as promised. The physical feel and interface is great as well and I love that is has the functions that work with my iphone/ipad such as double tapping the right headphone to pause/play. The headphones fold up nicely into a carrying case that is protective and works great for me carrying these in a backpack.

Woah, you need these in your life you want to listen to music that has a crisp sound to it. It’s very easy to hear everything down to the beat in the song with these. Even if you listened to a song in repeat, and felt you listened to it well. Truth is, you didn’t listen to the song well, UNLESS you listened to it with these bad boys. Essentially the questions that are most important, is the battery life good? I could listen to these for 4/5 days and still not having to charge them. Does the sound leak? Yes it does. But it’s very minimal unless you put it at a high volume regularly to blow out your ear drums you will have no problem with sound leaking. Does it work after months of having? Yes it does, BUT there are some points where the headphones stop working or pause when you’re listening, like the audio will go in and out after a while.

These headphones one of the best ones you can find in the market. I bought them for my upcoming international trip and wanted headphones that have good noise canceling feature. They performed better than I anticipated, my trip was over 16 hours and headphones battery lasted way longer than this, engines noise was barely audible. I was able to wear them for most of the flight without any ears discomfort. In the past I purchased Beats Pro but in less than an hour my ears were hurting from wearing them.

Excellent headphones. Much better than their newer sibling. I tried the XM5s for a few weeks as well and the only thing I found to be a little better was the quality of sub bass. However it was outweighed by the horrible comfort of the XM5 touching my ears constantly, and I returned them. Enter the XM4, in my opinion the finest in Sony's wireless full size headphone lineup, excellent sound signature with lots of tuneability thanks to the Sony Headphones app. Very versatile for a variety of genres and far better noise cancelling than the XB900 I had previously. Best of all the XM4 comfort is great too. A little shallow in the earcups but nothing a little readjustment of the headphones can't fix. And nothing like the awful XM5s with their paper thin earpads! Long live the XM4!

I got this for during the thanking giving deal. I owned a QC 35 II before this. This has the best ANC and now it connects to two devices simultaneously, which is sometimes annoying as the second device keeps disconnecting and reconnecting very frequently (QC 35 II had the same problem). Earpads are very comfortable for short durations. Sound quality is very good and better than QCs.

It is the best over ear headphones ever!!! The sound quality is amazing it is so comfortable you don't even feel it on your head it's really light weight overall really worth it I really recommend this product!!!

These have been my primary headphones for almost a year now. Battery life, noise cancellation, and sound quality are all great, and they are extremely comfortable. I wear them while I am working often and they only start to bother my ears after wearing them for about 6 hours. I bought them on sale but I wouldn't be upset if I had paid full price.

Having to share an office while working at home has been a real struggle. We both are in different zoom meetings all day and it was very hard to focus on my own meetings with all the talking behind me. I splurged on these and it was instantly like entering a personal soundspace. I can even have meetings while the gardener is working outside. It’s not that you can’t hear any ambient noise, it just sound muffled and far away. There’s a great feature that you can pair with two devices at the same time. It makes it easy to quickly switch back and forth between work meetings and other media. The sound quality is fantastic too. The best sound quality of any headphones I’ve ever owned. Also, my coworkers say my voice is clear in meetings and with noticeably better sound quality than my other headphones. They are comfortable, but I wear glasses and like all headphones can get uncomfortable after several hours of wearing them with glasses. The battery life is very good too. I’ve never run out of power even after a long day of meetings. They seem to charge fairly quickly too.

Sound Quality is amazing. Feels comfortable. Way better bang for your back than most competitors at this price range. Batter life lasts all day. Noise cancellation is surreal. 10/10 Recommend

I went back and forth numerous times when I was deciding to buy these or not. $350 for headphones is a lot for me, I'm a budget kind of guy (some would call me cheap). I do love music and my wife was encouraging me to splurge on myself, so I kept coming back. Then I couldn't decide between these, the Bose Quiet Comfort 35s the Bose 700s and the Microsoft Surface Headphones. After reading a ton of reviews it came down to the newest Microsoft Surface Headphones and these. I chose these because the build quality seemed higher and there were significant complaints about the band breaking on the Microsoft set. After having these for a couple of weeks, I am extremely happy with my choice. They are by far the best sounding headphones I have ever heard. They are also very comfortable on my head and they stay comfortable for hours. The active noise canceling works very well and the "touch the right ear with your hand" feature to hear ambient sound is awesome. I have enjoyed many genres of music with these and found they replicate the music very well all ranges sound awesome. Even though I was leery to spend $350 on 'phones. After having done so I would do it again without hesitation. These things rock!

The Good: I bought the Sony XM4 headphones as an upgrade to replace my Skullcandy Crusher Wireless headphones. The Crushers are solid, long battery life, and sound really nice, but in terms of audio quality, there is a noticeable improvement in these Sony headphones. The clarity of individual notes or beats (I've noticed drum beats/cymbals and electric bass guitars in particular) is excellent in the XM4. If you like metal or orchestral music in particular, these are great for helping you hear all of the instruments and their effects. Where the XM4's are really impressive, and are marketed as such, is the noise cancellation. When using the active noise cancellation (ANC), all I hear is what's playing in the speakers, a person two feet from me speaking right to me is inaudible; it's great for really focusing on what you want to hear. Also, the impact on battery usage is not bad at all (you really do get about 30 hours per charge with ANC on, the Crushers got 40 hours per charge but have no ANC). Something new to me with the XM4 is the ability to connect to 2 devices at once with Bluetooth, so they connect to my phone and my computer and are smart enough to know which one should be the priority at any given time. This is pretty handy since you really cannot hear anything else nearby with the ANC on. The Bad: Now if they're as great as I've said above (and they are), why 4 stars instead of 5? Well, the XM4 in my hands seems to have issues with skipping when connected only to my computer if I am playing streaming audio rather than something off the hard drive. Yes, I have switched the priority to 'stable connection' and that doesn't do it. The XM4 only really works as intended (for me at least) when I put the Sony app on the phone and have the phone on and within range of the XM4 even if the only audio I'm using is on the computer (and the app cannot be installed on a computer). At that point, there are no skips and everything is beautiful. I don't think you should have to be stuck with the phone as an intermediary; the headphones should perform properly without the app and with only the computer, but maybe it's just me. My Crushers have never had that kind of problem, I don't feel that the XM4's should either. The Bottomline: All things said, the XM4's are excellent headphones that once you have them set up you will probably be very happy with them, especially if you are upgrading over your current headphones.
