Don’t look for the XM5’s, get these!

Perfect for people who are looking to disconnect from the world and take a deep dive in the world of EDM, hip hop or any genre that can appreciate the punchy sound profile these have. The Sony app works really well in terms of EQ and connectivity, these are a gift when they’re on a deal. The XM5’s are great but, in terms of almost every area including ANC, the 4’s are a better option while saving at least a few $$.

Noise canceling is great. It works well with my phone. Battery life is awesome. I just with my phone would use the LDAC codec but that's not the headphones fault.

I returned them and purchased the xm4, and was instantly pleased with the sound. And even more so after going through and setting up my sound preference. Super happy with the sound quality. It doesn’t get super loud as some have mentioned, but that’s probably not a bad thing, as it may save our hearing. And it looks a lot better than the xb910’s.

Only issue was the battery started losing it's charge after 2 days of minimum use. These are better in noise cancelling and comfort with thicker cushions on the ears and on the crown of your head. GET THEM!!

Worth every penny

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This product is amazing, making the price I paid (~$270) feel like a steal, after you try noise cancelling on this device you'll be crying like a spoiled baby whenever you have to bear with any other competing products. I have brought by XM3 which is last generation of this product onboard a few flights and it easily guaranteed me no more humming plane engines when I try to get some rest, I have faith this one will do a even better job. One complaint is that the multi point connection support that is exclusive to this new XM4, I find the setup process a little bit clumsy. I also hope the same functionality can be provided to earlier products such as XM3. Thank you Sony for bringing us such a fantastic product.

The Midnight Blue is a great color. Indoors, it looks practically black, but once you go outside, the blue looks great.

Only thing i don't really care for, my fault though, if i touch fold my arms or touch my headphones...they turn off. I know they do a bunch of things, I'll never try or need, so i kept that extra star! I get tired of restarting my headphones. Blame my age!

These were perfect! The app allows you to adjust ambient sound or switch to noise cancelling and the sound is so crisp! If you’re wearing them and walking around, it will automatically switch you to ambient so you can hear your surroundings. I am in loveeeee with the matte color too and for a fraction of the price of AirPod Max’s!

We initially looked at other brands that offer noise cancelling headphones, yet Sony is a name we have purchased in the past and it never disappoints with regard to quality and sound. The color is also a nice alternative to black or red. Mom can still kick it but does so on her own terms with her own music, or just sitting quietly without all the noise. These headphones are priced right and were the right choice for our mom.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant to spend this much on a set of headphones that I would be using for things like biking, working out, outdoor work but after using these for a few weeks I am incredibly happy with the build quality, convenience features, and anc performance. They have been dropped several times and hit a tree branch, still in perfect shape. ANC on these is amazing, truly the best in class until Bose releases their equivalent. The Sony headphones connect app used with the headphones works great so far as well. The automatic audio passthrough works great 99% of the time, the only thing I have found that activated it when not intended are loud lawn mowers but turning that setting off takes all of 1 button press in the app. Finally the most important part, sound quality is fantastic as expected by Sony's flagship ANC headphones.
