For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is updated (via the Sony Headphones Connect app). Hi McRAD, we are truly sorry to hear that you've experiencing this issue with the headphones disconnecting very often. This is not the experience we want you to have. Here are some steps that can help you to have a more stable connection and avoid the inconvenience.
1- Update Firmware: Ensure that your headphones have the latest firmware installed. You can check for updates and install them via the Sony Headphones Connect App.
2- Change the Bluetooth connection: Ensure that the Bluetooth connection quality mode is set to "Priority on stable connection" in the Sony Headphones Connect App
3- Check for possible environmental interference: Make sure that there are no other Bluetooth devices, WiFi router, or other sources of interference nearby that could disrupt the connection

We appreciate your feedback about the Speak to chat feature. You can turn off this feature by holding your 2 fingers to the touch sensor control panel until you hear the voice guidance say, “Speak-to-chat deactivated”.

You can also use the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app to switch between enabled/disabled, change the sensitivity of the automatic audio detection, and change the time until the Speak-to-Chat mode ends.
