As a musician and producer, I have to give credit to Sony on this pair of headphones. The sound is phenomenal and the noise canceling works great. The frequency response is great and I like the app you can adjust specific frequencies if you want to change how they sound. The battery life is super great. It was worth it.

Super comfy, the features are great and the sound is BOOMING! Very clear!!! I also use them as a gaming headset with the aux, perfect!!!! I traded in the WF-1000XM4 earbuds for these, I really loved the size of the earbuds and the sound, but my ears just aren’t meant to put things in as I had discomfort after only an hour, there’s no discomfort with over the ear!

Awesome, but too big

However, I tend to have a big head, seriously, and these are still too loose even on the tightest setting. So I cannot wear them out and about to to do much movement which hugely takes away from why I bought them.

She absolutely loves them and uses 3-4 a week. She says the bass thumps and its very clear. She likes being able to put her hand over the earmuff and for the noise cancellation to stop. The sound she says is great and she plans to use these for years to come.

They have amazing sound quality and almost top tier noise cancellation. The quality is up to par and the battery life is good enough for my usage. The only competition these have are the Bose. Sound quality is and bass on the XM4's is better as well. Good for the type of music I listen to and I love that they give you an equalizer to really fine tune to your preference, Touch controls took some getting used to but work great and really give the headphones a nice look.

Comfortable on my ears and no headaches from 2-3hours of use. Easy to use. I’m not an audiophile but the sound and ability to customize the settings via app allowed me to enjoy my podcasts and music without any disappointments. My wallet enjoyed the extra savings from picking this up on a sale. Looking forward to using the ANC feature on a plane when the pandemic is over.

Sound really good but possible glitch

Took back first pair because of this and the replacement did the same thing. So if they’re all like this, be careful when first turning on music after powering on headphones. Not sure is these split seconds of high volumes will damage headphones. Turning down the volume all the way after powering on doesn’t fix issue either. As soon as I first press play after powering on, that’s when the volume is way too high. And unfortunately, I have to press play in order to lower the volume.

The only con for me is that I wouldn’t use them in the gym.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The customization and sound quality is really amazing especially with a little bit of tweaking through the app and it allows for excellent music and the noise cancelation is pretty good but that is expected for the price point, its able to block out most noise whether it be with the adjustable feature it has within the app and on the physical buttons and the soft padding on the cups and head band allow for wearing the headphones for a pretty long time. That being said sometimes it randomly disconnects and takes about 2 to 9 seconds to reconnect.

Regarding the random disconnections, we understand how frustrating that can be. While these headphones are designed for a stable connection, factors like wireless interference from Wi-Fi routers, other Bluetooth devices, or physical obstacles can sometimes cause this. For a more stable connection, you can use the Sony | Sound Connect app to switch the "Bluetooth Connection Quality" setting from "Prioritize Sound Quality" to "Prioritize Stable Connection". This can often resolve such issues by prioritizing a strong signal over the highest audio bitrate.

Sony WH-1000XM4 Headphones

Brought my headphones with me to work to see if I could use them in place of my Peltor workman earmuffs, turns out XM4’s have better noise canceling. There are a few annoying features. The app is very Sony, so half the features don’t work and the other half only work some of the time. The touchscreen on the outside of the right muff was cool when I first got them, now it’s just annoying, often increasing/decreasing volume when I want to skip a song. Speak-to-chat is also just a ridiculous feature, can’t use it in public, constantly activates when I’m laying in bed, turns itself back on randomly. It’s classic Sony, awesome tech, miserable software.
