A Sony loyalist. I own the 1st gen, 3rd gen and now 4th gen. I hope they bring this style back as the 5th gen are not foldable. Every gen hs an incremental improvement in sound comfort and weight, definitely better sound and quality than Apple products.

Noise cancelling is not quite as good as the WH1000XM5, but the sound is on par, if not better, they feel more sturdy, collapse smaller into the case, and (for me at least), they are more comfortable when wearing for long periods of time (ie several hours). I compared a lot of wireless over the ear noise cancelling headphones from Beats, Bose, Sony, JBL, Apple, and SkullCandy. Sound wise, these rated towards the top of the list, clear strong bass, matched evenly with the mid and highs, easily adjustable in the app when using with your phone, and sound great connected to my PC, which I use them with most of the time for work (both listening to music and for zoom or teams meetings) for 4-8 hours a day.

I got these headphones when there was a little sale going on but I have to say it's well worth the full price. The mark 4's not only look great but they sound amazing. I can put these on, use the noise cancelling, and listen to my music with no distractions, even when sitting next to someone in the car playing their own music over the speakers and singing as well. I'm glad I made this purchase. On the flip side, there are two minor issues I've run into since using these. One, the touch controls are a little bit unresponsive at times. For instance, double tapping to pause sometimes takes a few tries to work. Moreover, the touch controls are only available on the right side of the headphones. Though this is fine I suppose in most instances. Two, the battery percentage is perhaps inaccurate? When I first got these, they came supposedly at 100% battery because that's what the headphones said when I pressed the power button. However, it kept saying that for a while, until all of a sudden it dropped to 40%. There was no gradual battery drainage i.e. 100% > 75% > 50% > 25%. I haven't been using them for very long so I'll have to see if this can be fixed or not. Aside from these very minor problems I've encountered, these headphones are an amazing product and I'm excited to keep using them, especially when taking flights.

By far the best headphones I’ve ever owned. I’ve always had issue with headphone hurting my ears but these never cause the issue. You can wear them for hours and still have the same comfort. I love the color too it’s this beautiful midnight. Like a rainy Seattle. Also if you go to the gym often I would always have my headphones slide off but these are so form fitting where they don’t. I love these. You won’t regret buying they will forever be my favorite. I LOVE MY SONYSS!!!

These headphones are perplexingly good. They have amazing sound quality that you can adjust to fit your needs with the app that these absolute gems use. They have a hard shell case unlike there older brother the XM5’s which comes with a soft shell one. They’re very nice and out of the way to carry around and the bass is in your hands because you can adjust it however you want. If you’re on the fence about buying this item and it’s on sale just buy it, you will NOT regret it one bit!

The headphones are arguably the best audio I have ever experienced from a pair. The bass thumps without being overbearing. The clarity is exceptional, and the detail is outstanding. The headphones also remain comfortable to wear over extended periods of time. I do wish they were water resistant. These rival Sony's latest model, which I also have, if you want to save some cash.

I live by these headphones, the sound quality is great and the comfortability of these are amazing—it feels light on my head and the cushion around my ear feels good too. The color and look of the headphones themselves are cute too, very simple and minimal, a look I enjoy.

After a lot of research, I decided to buy these Sony's. They are probably the best headset I've ever had and I couldn't be happier! The sound is amazing and they are super comfortable. I wear them while I'm working at my desk as well as my nightly jogs, and they're perfect. Also, they're super easy to clean and fold back up into their carrying case for storing or traveling. I am so happy with this purchase!

Incredible headphones! Comfortable, noise cancelling, awesome sound quality, and I can go for multiple days without charging them up. Without these I could not have written my Ph.D. dissertation. Super grateful to Sony and my little brother for helping me get these!

I've had these headphones for years, just before the release of the XM5's. They sound incredible! The noise cancelation is top shelf, the comfort of the earcuffs makes for longer listening, and the touch controls on the right cuff are convenient. The Sound Connect app makes creating your own preferred EQ profile really helps amp these headphones up; its not your basic "Bass, Mid, Treble" EQ, no, it's more in depth and very versatile so you can find the perfect profile for whatever your favorite genre is. I also love the fact that modern day headphones such as these (and the new XM6) is that they come with a 3.5mm cord if you need to be wired. Overall, i highly recommend this pair of headphones, as well as any other Sony headphone product.

These headphones have great sound quality and are very nice to wear. The features are also nice with the touch on the side. My only complaint is that the top of the headphones gets uncomfortable after about 2 hours of strait usage.

These cans are comfortable for long stretches, the adjustable noise cancelling makes people talking only a couple feet away complete disappear even without any music playing, ridiculously long battery life and holds a charge for weeks without any parasitic loss. You do need the app to get the most out of them, but well worth the money especially since they’re less expensive than Bose and Apple.

I bought this to replace an old sony headphone. this new one is better in every way. The noise cancelling is great and dampens unwanted sounds. The battery life is good as well. It also very comfortable. Time will tell with its reliability, but its lasted over year and still works great.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from these because some of the reviews were mixed but honestly I’ve never been so happy with a purchase. As a fearful flyer these were a godsend on my last flight and the sound quality is awesome. I love that you have an option to plug them in and be connected wirelessly. They are super comfortable and the battery lasts forever. Highly recommend!

The sound is amazing and they are super comfortable. The touch on the side of the headphones takes some getting use to but once you get the hang of it, it fine!

Love my Sony WH-1000XM4. I would suggest them are worth the money. I work indoors in a very noisy factory. Desk Job. I do wear Glasses. I had the original Sony Noise Canceling Headphones for 3 Years or more. Bought the M4 for better mic for internet meetings and calls. A little better. Likes 1. Works with my workstation ( Laptop ) fast response low lag. 2. They stop Video and Music when taken off. 3. Comfortable to me. 4. Long Battery life. 5. Sound quality is very great. 6. Mics are okay for internet calls. 7. Noise Canceling. Is great. There are times I take them off and are surprised how noisy it is around me. Dis-likes. 1. App with phone. When I get an internet call my Phone and Workstation are connected the phone wants to grab first. I want the Workstation to have priority. Messed up some calls have to disconnect the Phone Bluetooth to reduce this problem. Sometimes have to do a full PC reboot. 2. No Boom Mic. 3. Mics are not good in noisy areas. Pick up a lot of background noise. 4. Hate the Google Assistant and Alexa. Should be removed. 5. App Location tracking. Phone override. Should be able to turnoff in app. 6. Speak to Chat. Glad it can be turned off with App. 7. Deeper cups. Ears touch hard plastic. Places for major improvements 1. Boom Mic!!!!! Removable would be nice. 2. Charging stand. One you can set on and charges when not in use. 3. Remove Assistant. 4. Deeper Cups or two different foams soft density outside and medium density inside. 5. More control with headphones through App. 6. Changes stay when not connected to Phone. 7. PC App to control headphones. I have the Avantree, Aria ME Headphones. Side by side with my Sony. I really like the Boom Mic. I DO NOT have to repeat myself as much. Because less background noise is coming through. I really like the charging stand. Very convenient. Sound on the Avantree is low, there is a lag, good for call or long meetings where you are the prime speaker. Thank you Eron

For once, a product actually lives up to the hype surrounding it. This may be the most celebrated set of headphones produced in the last 20 years. That praise is deserved. By now, these cans are regularly on sale, so don't pay full price ($350). Easily the best-sounding headphones I've owned, with exceptional battery life (I regularly get 30 hours of playback on moderate volume and Bluetooth before needing a recharge). Great carrying case, too. There are some recordings in my collection that I can honestly say I never really heard before until I listened to them with these Sony XM4s. Be sure to download the accompanying app onto your smart phone to get full use of all the features. I don' want to go overboard with praise, but the simple truth is this headphone set is the best investment I have made in audio equipment in the last 20 years. They're just that good.

Great sound quality, excellent noise cancellation, comfortable fit. And once you learn how to use the app to change settings for things like touch control, it's nice to have the flexibility to control those options. Wish the headband was made of stronger material to withstand pressure from, say, wearing the headphones in bed while sleeping on your side every night. Over time this will break the headband, as I've discovered. Still, that's probably an unusual use case so I won't ding the rating for that. Definitely recommended, especially as a lower-cost alternative to the more recent WH1000XM5.

Let me first say that these headphones are super nice. They are great quality and super lightweight and comfortable. The sound quality and the compatibility with the app is also great. However, I did unfortunately have to return them. I have really sensitive ears and the noise cancellation would start to cause immediate ear pain. I tried changing the settings and the noise cancellation still caused pain to my sensitive ears. I do still recommend these even though they didn’t work out for me personally. But if you do have sensitive ears you may want to try out the noise cancellation in store before you purchase to make sure you don’t have the same issue I did.
