I am very happy with these. I am not a music expert but I know what I like being of the older generation. I amazed by the noise cancelation, sound and battery life of the unit. The one problem is after a couple of hours having the on my ear start to sweat so I take them off.

I've had these Sony XM4 for over 3 weeks. Meet the new champion. Long battery life. Excellent noice cancellation. Lots of great features like: Swipe Volume Control, Swipe Skip, Swipe Replay, Auto Pause when you speak and much more control and customization using Sony's app.

Comfort is also great, but the ears can get hot a couple hours in. Touch control can be a bit finicky, I had to exchange mine out for a replacement, but it worked ok after that. I hate having to adjust the headband slider every time I put them back in the case, since I use the case often, but that's just being nitpicky. Great headphones!

My only issue is the slide when I work out but to be honest I have that figured out. The bass boost feature on these gives just the right amount. Sound is crisp and clean. Better than my AirPods.

Super comfy lasts for days of occasional listening or about two ish days of almost non stop listening. I really like the app and the different sound profiles that are premade and available. The noise canceling is amazing also. It’s not 100% but it sure tries its hardest to give it to you.

I have sensitive ears and some cartilage piercings that sometimes get pressed too hard and I end up with a headache. These headsets are pillowy soft.

They didnt compare at all when it came to style, functionality, sound, and features. The Sonys have a built in assistant that can be accessed at the touch of a button which could be used with Google or Alexa. They have a unique feature to hear your surroundings by holding the outter side of the headphone. The app has countless settings to fully customize them to your liking. And even a feature to capture a photo of your own ear to get the best sound possible. I noticed the headphones are also scratch resistant and stay clean for the most part. Every other pair of headphones that ive worn, ended up with scratches and blemishes shortly after purchase. The case included is protective and functional. The right ear side has hand gesture functions that help you amswer calls, end calls, skip songs, and change volume. Which does take some getting used to. I personally recommend these to anyone. I can finally be heard with ease on my calls without too much background noise. You can't go wrong with this purchase.

I had the previous gen of the headphone and decided to upgrade and it was the best decision I made. They took the previous model and improved in every way. My wife has the XM3 and they’re nearly identical. I do like how these turn off when you take them off your head versus the XM3. I tried a pair of Bose Ultras and ended up returning them for these when they were on sale. The Bose probably sounded a little better but the noise cancelling was almost identical. For the price I couldn’t justify the more expensive Bose headphones. I really wanted to get the XM5’s but saw a decent amount of reviews saying the headband breaks easy. Didn’t want to drop that kind of money for something that would potentially break on me.
