I think Bose comes second to this because Sony's sound profile is crispy and dynamic compared to Bose's. One downside is the transparency mode. It's not as good as my AirPods Pros and I can hear the wind through it sometimes.

Great all around heaphones

Great sound and fit. Love that they fold down so easily and are very portable with the case. Incredible battery life. Easy to control and charge. The only downside really is that after a few hours I do start to feel that they start to hurt due to them squeezing my head a bit.

Not My Preferred Headphones

Pros: Noise Canceling is very good Ambient Noise system is good Fit is nice Sound is great They turn off automatically Battery life is great Cons: Re-Connecting to devices is cumbersome Controls are terrible (Volume, Play, Pause, Stop) Default Settings are trash Difficult to switch between devices Prefer On/Off button than a momentary button Only extra button is useless Overall, I prefer my Apple Airpods over these. I would also prefer the Quiet Comfort Bose that I lost to these. The noise-canceling on these are superior to all, but they've become so difficult to use that I just prefer not to. What's the use of the greater noise canceling if you turning it on takes 5 minutes.

I work on a loud van that is roughly 80dB. I was noticing increased ringing in my ears so I went all out to get these. I'm glad I did. They really help. Most road noise fades away. If you want to hear something for a second, put your right hand on the earpiece and it goes to transparent mode so that you can hear normally. The other thing I love is the bluetooth connectivity. My wife has to ask if I'm on the van because it does a great job cancelling noise when talking to others. I 100% recommend these to anyone that wants a high quality, feature full noise cancelling headphones

Sound, battery life and features are all top notch. Wish the weight was a little better distributed on the top of head but improvements on the ear over last year much appreciated. After listening to music every day on them since I purchased, I can say the sound is amazing, I would say the best sounding headphones I have. The noise-cancelling feature is much better then my old pair. But talking on the phone is not so good especially for the other person. When on the phone my voice fades in and out to where the other person I’m talking to can’t hear me but they are crystal clear to me. I have the latest version of firmware 2.5.0 and it’s disappointing that a $349 pair of headphones can’t conduct a phone call. If phone calls are important to you I would advice not to get these but if sound quality while listening to music is then these are great.

best form factor for sony headphones

I like this model better than the later ones as it had a thicker headband which is comfy for bald people. cant wear the new ones without head pain. Sony please think of this for the XM7s this form factor was much better. the drivers in the xm3 sound the best for bass but somehow these still sound better than xm5 or xm6 they are trying to make them smaller but ruining the bass in the process.

I really don't have any major complaints about them. I would just say that they are sensitive to touch, so if you are using them while moving around a lot, turn off the touch controls so that the music won't randomly pause.

Can't wear them for more than hour (think podcasts). Dual pairing is brilliant (phone and TV) and swaps between devices automatically and effortlessly. I like the layout of the new app as well. Not a good a Philips Hue but way better than Sonos. Oh and yah they sound really good too :) I got them for $100 off with a my $50/yr membership!!! (so worth it).
