I like the noise cancelling aspect as I drive truck and it helps protect my hearing. Listening to books as I drive and are rather comfortable for long period use. In noisy situations though, the are horrible for use while making a phone call.

Posted .Hi MXmouse, Thank you for your honest review. Please note that the noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.

Perfect for late night/early morning editing

I can hear everything in videos and none of the outside world with these on. My only complaint is that my ears do get pretty hot after wearing them for a couple hours, but that's to be expected. I got these to be able to work late at night or early in the morning when my family's asleep and they work like a charm.

Great Overall but a Small Software Issue

Sometimes the ambient sound feature will turn on randomly and pause whatever you sre listening to. It doesn't happen often but it's really inconvenient when it does. Otherwise the headphones sound great and are very customizable.

It appears that the issue you have is caused by the Speak-to-Chat feature. If Speak-to-Chat is enabled beforehand, the Speak-to-Chat mode starts automatically when you talk to someone. The headset pauses or mutes the music which is being played and captures the voice of the person you are conversing with on the microphone to make it easier to hear. You can disable this feature by following this link:

Only complaint I have is to get them to recharge. When you plug in the charger It'll charge for 30 seconds and then quit. Sometimes it takes several tries to get them to stay charging. I've heard of several other people having the same issue with them

I love this headset.

It's a pretty penny, so got it when it was discounted. Very comfortable fit. I've worn out for hours. There are so many features. The touch controls were a little tricky, so I had to youtube the instructions for all the different swipes and taps. Now that I'm use to it, it's easy. It comes with a nice sturdy case.

Great ANC but gets HOT

Bass struggles when it gets really loud. Earcups just sounded muffled. Transparency is ok. I still had to lift up a side to hear the conversation. Touch controls are acceptable. Can be sensitive sometimes. My main issue is that this thing gets HOT on the ears. Definitely buy it on sale if you are dead set on getting it.

Got around Christmas on a good sale and after lots of research i got these for me and the boise for my daughter. She loves her but I like mine better. Amazing Headset

Nice sound but Bluetooth connectivity issue

However this model has serious connectivity issues. It does not automatically connect to your paired Bluetooth device (at least my headphone) and you need to reset the headphone every time before connecting which is pain. Quite disappointed but I am sure Sony will fix it in future.

We definitely want to get this fixed for you so you can actually enjoy your music. Please try these steps to see if they clear up that connection glitch:
-Make sure to check the Sony | Sound Connect app for any available firmware updates.
-Go into your device’s Bluetooth settings and "Forget" the headphones. Then, do the same on any other devices they might be paired to.
-Try a initialization. Find detailed instructions here: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wh1000xm4/v1/en/contents/TP0002752746.html
