These headphones are easy to recommend. While the nose cancelling is not the strongest I've ever used as it tends to block low noises better than high pitched frequencies, I'm nitpicking; these get the job done well. I am a big guy with a large head and big ears and these expand and fit over my ears just fine. The pad material is comfortable for a couple hours at a time like I use them; I don't know how they would feel for working out though. Probably wouldn't try it. The sound quality is terrific. I use them for video games and to watch shows more than music but they do well regardless of media. Battery life is solid. I charge them after a few days of use so I haven't really tested how long they last until they die, but I don't think they've ever dropped past 50% so I'm happy. The touch controls on the side are nice to have and simple enough to learn. Overall I recommend to anyone looking for a quality pair of headphones built to last.

I recieved these in exchange of my honest review. Ill start by saying, wow these wireless noise cancellation headphone by Sony sound incredible. I've never been one to spend over 100.00 on a set of headphones, as normally I prefer to listen to my music through my floor standing tower speakers and a powered sub. But late at night its nice to have a decent pair of over the ear headphones when you wanna listen to music or even videos on YouTube. The noise cancellation works wonders at drowning out louder surrounding noise, and its defeatable if it not your thing also. But at this price I would assume your buying them as part of this feature alone. These Mark 4s don't disappoint in anyway, whether music or videos the sound is clear and crisp with a nice amount of bass. The headphones are very comfortable on your head and ears. I never found them to be fatiguing or uncomfortable in anyway. Just a joy to listen to, I found myself noting nuances in music I never heard with my old headphones. Also I love being able to switch/connect between my S10+ phone and my tab s6 tablet, great feature. The side cup controls for skipping tracks and turning up the volume works so well, I was surprised by how well it worked. Usually I find myself not using features like that but the ear cup controls are super easy and helpful on these sony headphones. Google Assistant is also nice to have to aid in controlling smart home features as mh lights and thermast. The only con I can think of is I couldn't get them in white, which really isn't bad. The included padded carrying case is a great added bonus for traveling, and keeping the headphones safe from damage. If you don't own a pair of these over the ear sonys, do yourself a favor and pick up a pair. You won't regret the decision one bit...

I was weary of the price but for me, it was worth it. The battery life lasts me a week at least. The noise canceling is truly unbeatable. My family jokes that if there was a fire in the house I wouldn’t notice because of the noise canceling headphones. They’re also EXTREMELY comfortable. I’ve fallen asleep with them on several times. It fits perfects on my head and I have no complaints even after wearing it for multiple hours. I have sensory issues so just having the headphones covering my ears even if they aren’t turned on helps muffles the noise which prevents me from being overstimulated. 10/10

Is one of the more comfortbale set headphones that I have owned. Sound is very crisp and clear. I love the sleek look. Overall, I think the higher price than I normally pay for headphones was worth it.

I was so hesitant on splurging on a pair of headphones since the price of these are quite outrageous to say the least, but I finally hit the trigger when it was $121 off. I’ve had these headphones now for probably 2 weeks and I must say, it has become my whole personality for the rest of the year. I wear these headphones religiously, even when I’m just out doing errands or going out on my walks. I immediately put these on as well if I’m doing school work and when I do light work out at the gym. The moment I turn it on, the atmosphere around me just immediately goes quiet. The noise cancelling on them are excellent (I can not really compare them to other noise cancelling headphones as these are my first pair) along with the sound quality of these headphones. I can also say that even after hours of wear on these headphones, it has never given me a headache. I’ve had problems with headsets/headphones giving me a headache after a while of wear due to me wearing glasses since I am very much blind and these headphones are the first ones to never give me a headache, I can literally wear them the whole say and I would be fine. (I also have problems with earphones making my ears feel sore and itchy, which is why I’m looking into good quality and comfy headphones.) I also have a small head and they fit me just fine. (: Oh and I forgot to mention, but the battery life on these are crazy, I have not charged mine for probably 5-6 days now and they’re still up and going. Overall, I love them! I’m not some headphones connosseur or anything or a pro at reviewing them to their fullest extent, but they’re very nice! It’s very much worth the price (especially when you get them on sale *wink wink*) and I would definitely recommend it to people who are thinking of getting them!

great sound for a middle range of money, while they're not supper laud in my personal opinion i think that they're great for their generation. They deliver on everything that you want comfort, sound and great battery life. Great compatibility which IOS devices and overall great for they're price. the only down grade to them is the material that surround your ears. In hotter environment's it can cause sweating and discomfort but overall great comfort.

I have tried many over the ear headphones throughout my life especially to use when I am at the gym. These headphones are incredibly comfortable and light weight. I love the functions where I could just swipe on the right side of the ear when I need to instead of looking for buttons with my fingers to use the functions I need. The sound quality is outstanding especially the noise cancellation and if you download the app you can also customize the sounds and when you want the noise cancellation/transparency on and off which I thought was pretty neat. All the other headphones I have used always got uncomfortable to wear throughout my lifting session but these are very comfortable that I highly recommend!

I absolutely love these headphones! The comfort is top-tier. I can wear them for hours without any discomfort, which is rare for over-ear models. The noise cancellation is incredibly effective; it really blocks out background noise and lets me focus or relax without distractions. One of my favorite things is how lightweight they are. Unlike the Aipods Max and other bulky headphones I've tried, these feel barely there but still deliver amazing sound quality. Highly recommend if comfort and peace are priorities for you!

Really light weight for the size. I can wear them for long periods quite comfortably. The batteries last a long time! The noise canceling is really good. I have not found any other product that can keep my office from driving me crazy quite like these. The sound quality is adequate, but I don't use them as an audiophile. Mainly it is to drown out surrounding distractions and participate in conference calls. Occasionally I will watch some movies on a tablet and it works quite well for this. If I had one complaint - these do not seamlessly transition between devices. It isn't a nightmare. But it is not nearly as easy as it ought to be to use them on multiple devices. Switching between a tablet and a phone might require the previous device bluetooth to be shut off before turning them on to connect to the new device.

Let me start by saying that the noise isolation on these is unbelievable. When you first put them on, they seem very quiet off the bat. Once noise cancellation turns on though, it’s literally like you’re in space. You here nothing. Then the sound quality. Most consumer grade headphones sound like muddy and bassy garbage. The fact that I use audiophile grade headphones almost everyday at home makes me extra sensitive to this. But these surprised me, I didn’t expect it to deliver such rich and clear bass. There is no drowning out of vocals or highs even on bass heavy tracks. Wireless battery life is great as well. The build quality is phenomenal. It is plastic, but very high quality. Overall: A must-buy wireless headphone for anyone who can afford the price tag. I’ve seen these go down to almost $220, which is just robbery.

Sony continues to give others a run for their money with the WH-1000XM series. These are the fourth generation and Sony has added some improvements while taking away other features. These are the best ANC headphones people can buy on the market even when compared to other luxury brands. The notable improvements Sony added to the XM4 are an increase in battery life and the design is more streamlined. You'll still be hard pressed to see a difference between these and the XM3, it's subtle. The added battery life puts these in another market altogether. The XM3 were advertised as having up to 30 hours of battery life and that was accurate, a little too generous. I've been continually getting 37-38 hours of battery life with the ANC turned to maximum and having an EQ enabled. Like before, you can customize the sound to what you want. There's a few presets and a visual EQ to make full adjustments. You can select what level of ANC you want or have the headphones automatically determine the level of ANC based on your environment. I turned this off and haven't really tried it. I initially set it up on the XM2s I had but I couldn't disable it without completely resetting the headphones losing my EQ settings. I haven't taken that chance with the XM4, but I mostly want these to have full ANC even if it is overkill. The ANC is top class, I don't think anyone does it better than Sony. Bose's ANC is good but still lets voices come through. The XM4 let voices come through but they are muffled and reduced to a point that they're easily drowned out my music or other audio. You can't go wrong with these if ANC is your main goal. Sound quality is great after some tuning. The default sound profile is fine, but it didn't wow me. I played around with the EQ and am at a point I'm good with. I don't think they're as detailed as the Beoplay HX, but I prefer them to the Bose NC700 and over the Beats Studio 3. The AirPods Max have excellent ANC as well, just as good as Sony and they have a better pass-through experience. However, even when those are on sale, they're at about $200 more than the XM4 and I don't think they're worth it given the compromises you'll have to make (Lightning for charging, can't change settings without an iPhone). The earcups are breathable though my ears still get warm. I'm still able to wear these hours on end without issues. They're light and made of plastic. That's my only big complaint. I can hear the plastic creaking when I move my head or jaw. It's not noticeable when listening to music but I can hear it while watching movies. I would have preferred if Sony went with a heavier aluminum construction or switched to carbon fiber if they wanted something light. I know the price would have increased a bit, but I'd be willing to pay $50-$75 more for something not entirely made of plastic (except for the adjustment arms). Sony's app is fine, it's still not the best but it gives you access to everything. I've had a couple of times where it won't find my headphones. Closing the app and opening it again does the trick. iPhone users will be good with these as they're compatible with the AAC codec. Android users will need to use SBC, AAC, or LDAC. Sony took away aptX with the XM4. These aren't the type of headphones for lossless listening and LDAC still has connectivity issues at 660kbps and above but it's going to be the best option (don't use 920kbps as you will experience random dropouts due to the higher bandwidth). AAC isn't the best on Android either as most manufacturers use a terrible encoder that introduces more latency. SBC is fine and the XM4 have DSEE to help fill in the gaps. It just would have been nice if these worked with aptX, due to the solid connectivity, sound quality, and lower latency. I think Sony is using a Qualcomm Bluetooth chip so I'm not sure why they didn't include aptX. Overall, these are top tier headphones with ANC that can't be beat, a pass-through mode that's perfectly serviceable, excellent sound quality, great battery life, and are comfortable enough to be worn all day. They come in a rigid case that's travel friendly with the cables you'll need to charge and use them (if you want to use them wired). They can connect to two devices at once and automatically switch between them based on what's playing content (you can't use LDAC if you do this). Get these if you primarily value ANC, sound quality, and comfort. They aren't as premium as headphones from B&O, B&W, M&D, or other luxury brands but they're still solid. I have a bad habit of returning headphones after a few days because they don't live up to my expectations but these do, I am keeping them for the long run.

These headphones are the greatest set I have ever owned. I sell them at my store with nothing but praise for them. I recommend them over every other leading brand. They kill it in every category. Comfort? you betcha. Lightweight design makes it so you can groove to some funk, head bang to some metal, vibe to some Hip-hop, Dance to some pop, or sway to some country. They do it all. The sound is amazing, Sony clearly has a love for music and they want you to feel it, they want you to hear all the music. The SDEE uses state of the art technology to return compressed music to its natural state. IT IS incredible. Black and Silver for style and class. The hardshell case is unmatched as well, These babies work with a 3.5mm jack as well, without power. So at home or on the go, no matter the connection, Sony has you covered for seamless music appreciation. Bose is great, Beats aren't bad. Sony is the King.

Excellent headphones, as expected. When compared to the WH-1000X-M2, these headphones are a significant step up. They are much lighter, with a nice matte finish. This makes them more comfortable to wear on the ear for longer periods of time. I'm not an audiophile, so the sound quality itself seems comparable, but but the noise cancelling is improved. The ability to connect to two different devices is very convenient. The touch controls can be a bit finnicky. The app is nice for adjusting the sound profile, but there are still some features what I'd call gimmicky (360 audio, etc). The headphones have the ability to pause music automatically when the individual wearing the headphones speaks, but this can be overpowering at time (ie stopping music when laughing). Overall, highly recommend.

Best headphones I've ever owned. 7+ months in and they're holding up absolutely perfectly. The sound quality is amazing. The bass is deep and punchy and loud enough to vibrate my head a little which I love. The treble sounds are extremely crisp and I find myself being able to listen to the same songs I've head 50 times and hear something new and lose myself in the music and amazing soundscapes. They're extremely comfortable, I even wear these when trying to sleep sometimes because the noise cancelation is just that good and they're that comfy. Excellent battery life. No real complaints; these are great hardware for the price point.
