They're that good. Use them once on a plane and you'll feel like they paid for themselves.

They don't cancel out all noise (like on an airplane can sometimes hear what's going on around me), but for the most part they work great.

The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. The downside is that the noise canceling isn’t the greatest and they drain my cell phone battery quickly. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great pair of headphones.
