To add i would need to own Bose headphones to compare. Tried ne apple headphones, they are better quality, but cost twice as much.

Please make sure that you wear the headphone properly and making sure that the earcups are covering your ears. You can try and adjust the headband of the XM4 to avoid sound leakage.
