Third on I have bought overs to keep or give as gifts. ANC is awesome and the transparency mode while holding the earcup is so clever and useful. I haven't tried other ANC headphones because I have never has any reason to.

These are 1 of the best headphones I've owned with a great sound and comfortable. Do yourself a favor and get a pair of these killer sounding over the ear headphones. The app is a great addition and very user friendly. I was going with the X5 but don't waste the extra money.

Excellent noise-cancelling ability! We travel internationally and the ability to cancel the loud airplane noise while watching a movie or completing a video course is awesome.

I've had a lot of headphones. Sony, Bose, KEF, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, B&O, Klipsch. Some wireless, some wired, some with noise-cancellation, some without. Open-back, close-back - like I said, a lot of headphones. Day-to-day usage, I've been using AirPods since December 2016, and then AirPods Pro in November 2019. Been using those as they're insanely convenient and sound good for what I use them for. The Sony XM4 is by far the best set I've ever used. Incredibly comfortable, fantastic sound, decent but not overbearing bass, a comfortable soundstage, and the best noise cancelling I've ever had. The trade off that is losing Apple's convenience factor and Spatial Audio is more than made up for with just how great these sound. Bonus points for 3D Audio (if you can find it) and the customizable EQ.

Battery life is nuts, noise canceling works well and the sound is very good as well. Ive had my headsets these are some of my favorite. Light and comfortable as well.

Time had come to upgrade from my trusted wired Bose noise cancelling headset to a wireless version. After some research it became clear that for the most part a decision between Bose and Sony was just about a toss-up with each having features that would apply to specific users. I went with the Sony due to some sharp pricing, longer charge life and a "killer ap" the headphones turn off when removed. In use, I am not disappointed with my decision, they are comfortable for extended use, even without noise cancellation do a great job of keeping noise out and provide an excellent listening experience. Have not yet had the opportunity to test battery life but don't see myself ever testing the upper limits of battery life.

Turned in perfect conditions. Love the color not too bright but not too dark. Amazing sound quality. As someone who likes to still be aware of her surroundings at times, the ambience sound does an amazing job and so does the noise canceling. One of the best noise canceling headphones I had ever used, it covers my ears completely, not allowing any other sound to interfere. They are perfect.

The sound quality and comfort of these headphones are great. The price is also very reasonable especially for home greats these headphones function.

Great over ear headphones! Easy to pair with my devices. The Sony App is easy to navigate and set up. I don't like that Sony advertised 360 sound. You need certain music services if you want to utilize that. So I took a star off for that. Sound is amazing! My wife thinks they are loud at 50 percent. I love how they sound though! You can play with the different equalizer settings in the app to your liking. The battery life on these are great! Love the Noise Cancelling feature. I can sit in bed watching stuff on my phone while my wife watches TV and I cannot hear what she is watching. The USB C cable is very short, which I wish Sony would make it longer. But thankfully I have other cables that are long enough. Tried these and the Apple on ear headphones. They both sound great but having an Android phone I couldn't utilize all the features the apple one has. Plus they are twice as expensive. I was able to get these at a great price!

Best headphones then any other company, i have now had this for almost a year and they so far are still the best in the world. I have been using them for the gym and it works just fine, all you need to do is take them off for at least 5 minutes so that it wouldnt mess up the sensors inside or too much sweating. I have used them for 2 flights and i love the noise cancelations. It allows me to listen to my music peacfully and the sound is on point, the bass is super accurate and i can hear every sound and beat. Also great for gaming, makes me feel like if im in the fields which is cool, just need to buy an aux mic to be able to chat. Overall best headphones that are unbeatable.

4.5 stars. The crispy, smooth sounds controlled by the connection eq make these headphones great. Noise canceling could be a bit stronger, giving more volume. They lasted three days on full charge.

Absolutely amazing. Sound quality is insane! The noise cancellation is also amazing. My favorite feature is definitely the pass through, being able to put your hand on the ear cup and hear others around you is so useful, especially since I am in a busy household. I love how they come with a carrying case, and fold!!! A lot of headphones now do not fold which is wild to me. Easy to transport, and store, oh and the battery life is awesome!

Best pair of headphones I've ever owned. Amazing sound. No ear fatigue. Only negative is they do get a little warm after about 30 min. Great battery life

Id be the first one to say that these headphones are expensive. However they are worth the money for the sound quality and sound deadening alone. I have to travel a lot for work and these have been added as a must have when packing. When turned on you can barely hear the hum of the engine of the plane. Screaming baby, no problem with these headsets. Sitting next to a constant burper or someone that clears their throats; no worries the headphones got you. Ultimately these headphones are worth every cent.

These are a great price and wonderful quality. Even when everything is really loud around you, it silences it so all you hear is your music or audio book.

I tried the Bose 700 and these Sony xm4 headphones. All the other reviews I think are unhelpful because they compare them setting against setting without naming the differences. The Sony 360 sound is incredible - better than Bose - but only accessible if you pay for one of the monthly services like Tidal. Otherwise, the sound quality is pretty similar. However, the pre-set equalizers (with the option to customize 2) in the Sony I liked more than Bose that has a traditional bass, mid, treble setting. If you are using this for phone calls, Bose supposedly has better call quality but I could not tell the difference. What I can say is that Sony is better at muffling background noise with the noise cancelling off. And it is easier to get to noise cancelling off - both with the button and with a quick cupping of the right ear on the Sony. Bose picks up a lot of background noise when you are on a call and you are not talking - like a can opening, running water, and opening a bag of chips 50 feet away. Even turning off the noise cancellation (which I've now learned helps both Sony and Bose pick up less ambient sound through the mics), the Bose picks all this up while the Sony muffles these sounds. TV sounds can be picked up by both. Also, both Sony and Bose allow multiple connections. However, I found that the Bose switches better between my Windows 10 PC and my Google Pixel phone. I could not get the Sony to switch as seamlessly and automatically between these two as I shifted from music to phone calls. The Bose was instantaneous. The Sony is more compact because the ear pieces fold in. It feels more flimsy than the Bose but I think this is just a sensation because the ear pieces fold and rotate. The carrying case is slimmer for the Sony. Personally, I think the Bose feels more comfortable and is softer on my ears. But I imagine for other people the Sony would be better. This is likely just personal preference. Ultimately, I returned the Sony xm4 headphones because the touch panel has a beeping sound for every touch that you cannot turn off. There are a lot of other notifications sounds that you can turn off (especially if you disable an adaptive setting feature that is aware of where and what you are doing) but not the beeps that are associated with swipe up/down/left/right. If you don't change things often or if you are going to use your phone to make adjustments, then the beep may not annoy you. For me, the beeping was a deal-breaker - even though as you can see in my review, I actually liked the Sony better in terms of sound and phone calls.

Love the sound quality. Comfortable fit. Love that you can charge it with the android charger.

The minute you put these on you can feel/hear the difference. They are definitely noise canceling and are super comfortable. With the app switching from device to device is seemless and changinging the settings for the headphones is super easy.
