Noise cancelation and battery is pretty impressive. Can do without the touch buttons, the slightest bump pauses, skips... the music/Video.

I had a lot of compliments while wearing them. They are really comfortable to wear in any kind of weather, wouldn't recommend working out in these, they slip out of your head pretty easily, but overall these work amazingly well. The noise cancellation is really good. Definitely worth the price.

Game changer for air travel!

These headphones are a game changer on long, international flights! Blocks out almost all sounds. It really makes a flight less stressful without all the noises. I also like the feature to turn off noise cancelling (just touch the right earpiece) if you need to hear an announcement or talk with the flight attendant. Highly recommend for flights!

Best Active Noise Cancelling

That being said the sound quality is exactly the same, so if you're hesitant about spending this much on a pair of headphones they're an amazing alternative.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had doing so much on what headphones would be best for me I’ve tested out almost every mainstream headphone the Bose , Beats , Apple & of course Sony I honest feel like these headphones sound the best out the box without Eq , the bass and tremble & balance it’s great for my eyes thr only issue I have with these headphones and maybe it’s most headphones is the comfort level I would give a 3out of 5 because the ear cushion is tight causes my ears get fatigued after long hours of use .Overall amazing headphones I would recommend especially when they are on sale !!!

Comfortable, nominal amount of ear sweat (they are closed-cushion after all) and while you can’t toggle a switch for moving bluetooth between two devices like the Bose QC35’s, it will auto-switch if you pause or mute one of two devices it is bluetooth-linked to. If you connect to a laptop for WebEx a lot, I found a headphone cable on Amazon by KetDirect with a microphone built into the cord, bypassing Bluetooth. But, it isn’t included from Sony.

Had a chance to try everything at it and it just works. Sound and noise cancelling is tops in its class. The only thing I would knock is possibly the build quality (it is light for a reason). However, that could also be a positive because you can wear these for hours and hours and not have to worry about fatigue. I had fatigue issues with a Bowers & Wilkins set I use to have. The best build quality of them all, but it was a bit heavier. As long as you take care of these Sony cans, use the case always for storage, you shouldn’t have a problem. Enjoy these. Sony just keeps getting better and better.

I tested them side by side with the XM5s and honestly I prefer these, for sound quality. The noise cancellation is good, maybe not as good as the XM5s but still much better than my in-ear buds-live. I used them for about 5-6 hours at airports and on planes and they handled airport and plane noises well, with a brief loss of cancellation during plane landings, so no big deal. The battery stayed almost fully charged too, so these guys are no joke, unbeatable for frequent flyers!

Best headphones I've ever bought!

My only complaint from it not being perfect is the bass. I have played around with the app settings for the equalizer and can't quite get it to my liking. I listen to a wide range of music (from hip-hop to rock). I had a previous set of Sony headphones that were very bass heavy but the overall clarity of those were trash. These hands down blow them out of the water. Since the weather is getting colder, will see how the touch controls work outside. I know the XM3 had issues with the touch controls. Hopefully don't follow in the same footsteps. Oh yeah, another thing on these being perfect. Phone calls on these are crap. I've only had 2 calls on them and both of those were horrible. Both ends sounded like we were lost in a tunnel. Not sure if it was my end or the other person. Perhaps an update will fix this. Not a big deal because I don't use these for phone calls really anyway. Mostly for working out and casual listening. Besides those 2 complaints, I would definitely recommend these!

A loyal Bose Headphone Customer Makes the Switch

I have owned 3 pair over those 20 years and I have always like the headphones but I have also always been frustrated by their byzantine approach to the controls on the headset. So when my last pair finally gave up, I made the decision to switch to the Sony WH-1000XM4's. I am SO glad I did. I love these headphones! Great sound quality, very comfortable, excellent adapting noise cancelling and intuitive tap/slide controls. No more fumbling around to raise/lower volume, just slide your finger up/down on the outside of the headset.

I should of bought them at first. I started with the Sony Ulta, but the noise cancellation and over all sound quality sounded off. I returned them fo4 the Beats Studio Pro to see if they lived up to the hype seeing several people wearing them at the gym, they were trash. The Beats sounded flat, no EQ on the android app. So i decided to spend the extra money on the Sony 4s, and i havent regretted it. I listen to all different types of Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B and these sound great compared to the rest. I almost got the JBL headphones in the same price range. But the noose cancellation is definitely a game changer. FYI most the over ear headphones are not sweat resistant. I went on Amazon and got the sweat resistant ear covers for $15, because i primarily use the headphones at the gym and i sweat alot.

Worth the Buy

The sound quality is clear and high quality; very well balanced headphones so far. Wearing them for an extended time is not much of a problem when it comes to comfort. The noise canceling feature is great for being in your own little world while listening to audio. This is also an amazing alternative to the more expensive, higher end headphones out there.
