I used to pick them out for him but now he checks for reviews and compares features available against features he likes. Between comfort, connectivity and the case he’ll tell me something else he’s found about these that he likes. The option to go wired or wireless

They have an excellent noise canceling feature and the music sound like you are at a concert. They are quite comfortable and am able to wear them for a couple hours straight. The app is an excellent companion to the headphones although you don't need it to use them. Deep bass and very clear vocals. They are also really good for audiobooks or podcasts. The phone call quality it great with the noise canceling so that all you hear is the person you are talking to without a bunch of background noise. I would recommend these headphones for sure.

Amazing headphones for music lovers

I upgraded to these from the WH1000XM2's, which were still going strong but the earpads were falling apart and I couldn't find replacements for them. Definite improvements over the XM2's - better comfort, better noise canceling, better battery life. Don't pay full price for these, when they go on sale, they *really* go on sale and you can get a significant discount. I chose these over the XM5's because of the fold-up design.

Noise cancelling is insane, music quality is crisp and clear. The app has a lot of options lets you adjust the EQ levels very specifically if you so choose. They're comfortable enough that I've fallen asleep wearing them before. The only downsides I find in these headphones is that they will slide off during some workouts at the gym, (mostly ones where you lay flat or at an angle). And they get a bit sweaty while working out, but really what over-ear headphones don't get sweaty, y'know? I also have trouble connecting them with my computer sometimes, but that just might be user error...

The best ANC on the market
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.These have the best active noise canceling on the market - just completely obliterates any kind of noise to a muffled whisper. The tuning is a very average V-shaped response, with a huge amount of bass, but surprisingly enough I don't entirely hate it here. The strong bass helps cancel out the low frequency rumbles of engines and cars on commutes, and hey - who doesn't like heavy bass now and again? The battery life is very good as well for prolonged use, and I could squeeze out 2 12 hour days with them before I felt even an inkling that I should recharge them. Still, price remains contentious in a world where headphones and audio tech in general is becoming increasingly more competitive. I bought them on sale and I feel that it was a reasonable tradeoff.

Cannot use with PS5 even though it's Sony

Very intuitive (has a noise canceling feature that sets automatically depending on what you do / where you go). Confortable to wear. Long lasting battery. Cons: Cannot pair to a PlayStation. Design is beautiful but so light, it feels like they can break easily. Had trouble with it when I enabled the Google assistant (would stop playing music and assistant would go off without permission even after I disabled it).

Noise canceling eliminates everything but voices but reduces voice volume considerably. It it is so good at canceling everything else that I think this is intentional. There may be a setting that changes this. When music is playing you can only hear music. Headset is very comfortable. App is easy enough to use. I had it running with headphones in 5-10 minutes. Feature that detects when headset is removed and pauses playback is accurate. Touch panel controls on headset work well. Like using a smartphone, you just have to learn what motions do what.

Excellent pair of headphones. Setup is very easy. Can connect to 2 devices simultaneously. Noise Cancelling is very good. The sound is clear. The bass is deep. Used the headphone for meetings and phones calls and there are no complaints about the voice clarity. The headphones are comfortable for long use. My ears don't hurt as the over-the-ear earcups are big enough to go around my big ears. the cushioning on the earcups is soft. The cushion on the headband is also is good so it does not feel like the headphones are pushing down on my head. The case that the headphones come with offer nice protection when stuffed in a crowded back pack. Highly recommended. A very compelling buy if the available in a sale if people don't want break the bank on Bose 700 or AirPods Max.

Best noise canceling headphones in the market

This is by far, I mean, by far the best. Great Bass punch, and the main function which is the noise canceling, it is so goooood. On the Bose's you can always hear a little buzzing sound which is the canceling noise. On the Sony, you just hear the music. Battery life is awesome and it is so easyroconnect via app.

I didn't know what to expect with the XM4 being the first pair of Hi-Res audio headphones I've ever owned. Wow! The sounds quality is nothing short of industry leading and surrounds you most of the time. It really is some amazing work done by Sony with these. Noise canceling works great, the battery life is crazy good, and they fit my head and remain comfortable for hours on end! Using the Sony Music Center app to adjust the EQ is a top feature as well that shouldn't be overlooked. Don't hesitate to purchase these!

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The ANC is the best I ever heard, I tested it with a loud bathroom exhaust fan and it is able to almost completely remove the noise. You cannot ever hear the toiled flushing! Really, really impressive. Comfort is also exceptional, you can wear it for many hours without even remembering you have it. The sound quality is good for commuters, frequent travelers, and for outdoor listening, which is the main target of this product. However, if you are looking for Hi-Fi, this is not the right product and you should look for brands specialized on high fidelity. Like other reviewers noticed, the bass are not well controlled and the midranges, in particular voices, are muffled. You can correct this in some extent by using the built in app, but overall you will still miss some excitement.

Although, the bass could be a little better, it still delivers surprisingly well. I’m coming for beats studio and this is just way better in every aspect. It’s probably more than what you need it for. Me personally, I wanted to synced to two device. That there was the selling point for me. The billion other things it does is just icing on the cake. Not all is good. Some of the things it’s does well can get annoying. So you’ll have to turn off some features. The swipe to turn up/down the volume and change songs works maybe 60% of the time and it takes some getting use to to swipe the exact location for the function. The feature where you start to talk to listen and have a conversation with someone else is a little too sensitive. Don’t even both using this feature if you’re working out. Banging of the weights would activate it instantly and all the time. So spend some time on the app. You won’t regret it. Now the all time best feature is the lightness. It’s literal like nothing is on your head. If this thing didn’t cuff your ears and play music, you’d never know you’re wearing it. A little exaggerated but you get the picture. That feature is also a down fall. Don’t drop the thing from a decent distance. The swivel is easy to break. I broke mine that way and you have to come out of pocket to get it fixed.
