Noise cancellation works a charm, I can usually wear these for a couple of hours before I need to rest my ears. They sit a little tight on my head even with adjustment, but it’s not unbearable. Bluetooth is quick and easy to connect. Included case is rigid, do not over-torque the headphones when putting away in the case, I feel like it could be an easy failure point. Overall not bad. If you see them on sale I’d recommend picking them up.

I have not used other high end headphones and hence cannot compare. Usage: Primarily for conference calls using computer audio Pros: Battery life Sound quality Pair 2 devices simultaneously Cons: After 6 months of usage, hear some hiss occasionally. Read that this is due to the moisture build up. Need to disconnect and reconnect the bluetooth and run the "Test connection" wizard to verify for webex calls to get the audio going.

Good Pair of Over Ear Headphones.

These are my first pair of over ear headphones and I am pleased with the sound quality. The noise cancellation and touch controls are also good as well. I bought them on sale and I think the price to feature ratio is quite good.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously purchased the wh-1000xm3's in July because I needed a pair of excellent sounding ANC headphones. I knew the xm4's would come out eventually but I needed something then. Shortly after I purchased the xm3's the announcement of the xm4's happened & I received them in time to return the xm3's but not without comparing them. Like most reviews state, the look & style is nearly identical between both. The ear cups are a little bit bigger on the xm4's. Even though the xm4's don't have as many Bluetooth codecs as the xm3's they still sound amazing & I am very picky about sound quality. I could not notice any differences between the two models playing the same music in the same environment. The xm3's may have slightly better soundstage separation but it is a very small difference. The ANC is a little better in the xm4's & they also have multipoint Bluetooth. That means I can have them connected to my computer & phone without having to manually connect it to one source at a time. That is a really nice convenience & it works flawlessly for me. The xm3's are great headphones but the xm4's just take it farther & are more user friendly. I whole heartedly recommend these headphones if you want amazing sound with class leading ANC. You will not be disappointed!

Super comfortable too. Friend has also said that they can hear me clearly when I call them over Skype. Definitely get the app and customize your own sound dynamics for best results!

The amount of different functions don’t has added to these this year is incredible! The first thing is the “headset off, music pause” feature. When you take the headphones off they instantly pause and when you put them on they resume. Super convenient! Next thing is the ambient noise feature. If you place your whole hand on the right headphone it automatically lowers the sound and plays the ambient sound around you, making quick comments to people easy to do without taking off the headphones. The final thing I want to mention is the conversation feature. When you speak the headphones recognize it and pause your music letting in amplified ambient noise, allowing you to have a conversation. It then turns off after not detecting your voice for a set amount of time or when you double tap to resume music. These are just a few features that are already making my life more fun and musical and less difficult. I would definetely recommend these! Reminder that I only mentioned 3 of many many features! I didn’t even talk about automatic noise cancelling based on location, an equalizer in the app, 360 surround sound, personalized sound based on ear shape, and way more!

Best noise-canceling headphones...

Bottom line - if you want the best noise canceling at a reasonable price, get these. They go on-sale a lot, so wait if you can. Other than that, it does a lot of things average to above-average, but not necessarily great. Audio is fine, but there are better sounding headphones out there. The app works pretty well and gives you a great deal of customization. Speak-to-chat is a nice feature, but one I think I will rarely use (triggers to easily). The ambient sound control is a good mode, but not as good as a true transparency mode. Adaptive sound control is a nice feature, but I just tend to disable it. The build quality is all plastic, but does not feel cheap. You can get better build quality in other headphones for a premium. The call quality is just ok. It is a step above the XM3's, but still well below a number of other headphones. So, as I said at the beginning, if you want industry-leading noise canceling and a lot of other features done well (but not the best), you should get these. For most people, these headphones will do all they need, and more, so I do recommend them.
