The set up was not easy, I did not like that I needed to download apps in order for these to connect. They also had trouble connecting at times. The quality for music wasn’t great. Used with apple products (ipad and iphone), and plugged into a windows computer with the wire provided. Another problem is that they do not connect to Windows bluetooth. Now the pros, they do last a while so battery life is great and the noise cancellation is great too. I did not feel discomfort wearing them for a while. Also liked that it announces battery life and when the headphones are off and on.

The noise cancellation on this is great, it provides me good time on many flights that I have been on. Battery is great as well

Sony quality

The Sony Headphone App offers plenty of customization. Lightweight and comfortable. The only issue I had was syncing Bluetooth to my Samsung TV. Lip sync was way off. Maybe it's my TV. Little pricey, but I bought it on sale.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.great! i use it daily at school, at the gym, just walking around... quality sounds amazing and its clear. im not a sound expert so its great for a regular listener. it is a bit to the heavier side so i can feel it on my head at all times, and it gets SWEATY at the gym. its not super bothersome for me tho,,, it keeps my ears warm in the cold but it does get hot when its already warm outside. the touch thing on the side of the headphones tho, a little confusing and doesn't always cooperate. anyways still loved this purchase

Honestly I thought this was too much money for headphones but after 4 months now I think they are actually a steal for the quality of the sound, noise cancellation, battery, and all gestures the functions from the app. This headphones excel on every aspect. Both Spotify and Tidal sound great and I can hear notes and details on songs that I have never heard before. With that said, something great that I didn't expect is the movie sound quality. I paired these with my Sony Bravia TV and after that never used my home theater speakers again!

Great but still has a remaining flaw to fix

Noise cancellation is amazing however there's a flaw that seems to still be present from the last version of these XM3. They will be going back to the store and back to Sony. There's an issue where suddenly you start to hear wind noise in one or the other ear. I've seen people say it's moisture related (Just wearing them in the house doing desk work, no working out) and I've heard others say it's not. If you search for this issue online you'll find many others that have had this exact same issue. Either way I started getting this issue only a week into owning them and for the cost of these, I ended up returning to the store and will wait for something better to come along or if Sony is able to fix what is clearly a historical issue with the noise cancellation circuits. I REALLY wanted these to work. For comfort, sound quality, ease of use these all beat Sony's major competitor out there for noise cancellation headphones.

Crisp clear sound with enough base to enjoy the songs but not so much that it drowns out the rest of the range. Noise cancelling is perfect for noisy rooms and can be used with variable ambient noise settings. The app is easy to master and it maximizes the headphone's features. The touch control on the headphone ear piece is sensitive and instinctively programmed. Within the headphone price point they are competitively priced, but I am glad I picked them up during the black Friday sales.

Got a long battery life too. The feature where it pauses the music when you speak is, however, the most annoying thing on the planet. I spend a few hours trying to figure out how to turn it off before just calling support and figuring it out from there. The hands free audio when you're connected to multiple sources on the computer is also kind of annoying as the hands free audio is (compared to the normal audio) complete garbage. I got around this by simply disabling the hands-free audio sound device on my computer and it worked just fine (with 2 or less programs).

Boose headphones

I wanted something to be loud and clear and motivating when I’m on the treadmill, but I noticed it’s not that loud so I kinda don’t like that part of it other than that I like it’s a nice color it’s lightweight.

They are comfortable, sound great and the noise canceling is top notch! But, again, this is just MY opinion. But if you REALLY want to get to the nitty gritty, I think that the Sony WH-1000XM3’s were the best out of all of them historically. But for NOW near 2023, it’s the Sony WH-1000XM4’s!!! Even better if you can get them for sale!

WORTH THE PRICE !!!

Clamping is just enough pressure to keep them from falling off. Sturdy, but lightweight enough I have forgotten I have them on. I’d sleep in them if I was not a side sleeper. Only downside is the crazy short charging cable. However, if your cellphone uses the same type of charging cable, you’re fine. A bit pricey, but I regret NOTHING. Skip Bose and grab these. (Sorry, Bose. I still love you, but your headphones hurt my head and “crunch” too much when they flex.) I purchased the Midnight Blue pair. Very pretty color.

I find it more comfortable on my oval head than the XM3. I welcome the chat feature, multipoint Bluetooth and auto pause that activates when removing the headset. None of these are essential, but really convenient. Collectively they make the upgrade very worthwhile for me. The sound quality seems a little better but I need to study that more. Ear cups better because a little larger and perhaps lighter. Passing the XM3 down to my son, who will think he has struck gold.

They bring tracks that I have listened to countless times to life and shine a light on details that I never noticed before. That may sound poetic lol but it’s true! They’re very comfortable, although my ears get a little warm while wearing them inside where there’s air conditioning. However, these are my first over-the-ear headphones and maybe that’s the way it is with all of them? Call quality is not very good so if that’s very important to you I would consider other options. The app interface and customizable settings are great, and so is the ability to connect to two devices simultaneously. Highly recommend.
