These are hands down best noise canceling however they are also the best sounding, in my opinion. Music is crisp and clear and has enough bass to satisfy the bass heads lol

The main issue with these is a bit of ear fatigue and the constant Windows 10 misbehavior switching between HandsFree and Stereo mode. This problem is not unique to the Sony Headphones.

Posted .Hi Dpal, Thank you for the 5-star rating! Glad to hear that you are happy with your new WH-1000XM4 Headphones. You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue.
Note: Try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while.
With regards to the switch between Handsfree and stereo mode, you may follow the reset and initialize steps on this link. https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wh1000xm4/v1/en/contents/TP1000003512.html
If you haven't yet, to get the most out of your XM4, we recommend updating its firmware to the latest version (v2.0.7). The software includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements. As of this time I am still getting the hang of it but I think it is easy enough to use once you start using it for extended periods of time. It is expensive for headphones but the quality is worth it and should last a long time to justify the price.
