Sounds Great but Can Hurt

You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue. Try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while. The longer you wear headphones, the more your ears may hurt. You may need to limit your headphone usage.

It's unfortunate that the unit turns off by itself. For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is up-to-date (via the Sony Headphones Connect app). Make sure to charge the built-in battery sufficiently. Resetting and initializing the headset may also help resolve the issue. Please refer to the steps on these links:
