    I have tried the Bose 700. I like the sound quality of the Sony better. The Bose is slightly more comfortable on my head but I do not like the midrange sound quality of the Bose. You have to try and listen to both for a direct comparison. The Sony app is very well made. The Sony’s are best on flights to get rid of the engine and people yakking loudly near you to listen to your high quality music.

    These do, what they do, better than most headphones on the market. The noise canceling is great. The isolation these provide is exceptional yet, still give you a sense of spaciousness. They are extremely comfortable, and you can wear these all day, no issues. People like to say that the plastic here is High Quality, but they are still plastic. $300 headphones. No matter how tough they may be, should not feel like they will break into a bunch of pieces when you drop them. Surely they are not, but I have $100 bluetooth speakers that feel higher quality than these. Just for reference, I own a Sony TV, and Sony A series camera, so I am accustomed to the quality of the their products. I even had an original Walkman, back in the day but, I digress. That being said, these do not sound great. Because the noise isolation is so good, I could never get that feeling of being underwater, out of my sound field. The highs are not as clean as I would like then. The mids are too full without enough clarity. The bass can never be realized even with equalizer tweaks, and sounds overly tight. These are not neutral, nor are the punchy so you are left in a world that you just get used to. I wanted to like these, as the reviews are Out of This World. Thousands of sparking reviews. Guess my hearing is just a bit off, and I do not have have $1200 to buy all the different like priced headphones, so I guess I am stuck with these. If you have the opportunity to listen to these in store, try to. If not, make sure you get these back before the return period. They will not start magically sounding better, just because of other people's reviews. If features are more important than sound, these are the headphones for you.

    The overall design of the headset is great, good quality, has a good carrying case, and it's very comfortable to wear. The sound quality it also fantastic and very customizable via their app. However the noise canceling feature is overbearing, making it feel like you're listening to your music and the hum of an airplane at the same time. I have tried this and the Bose noise canceling 700. I found the Sony pair to be a more comfortable and better sounding headset, but the Bose clearly outclassed it in noise canceling performance.

The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off. Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.

    Great set of cans and a welcomed improvement over the XM3's. Just looking at it from the outside you might say these are the Xm3's however the ear cups are 10% bigger, which is great for those with big ears (not me), and the new blue color is a welcomed addition to the line up. Along with the bigger ear cups, the sound stage for these is more well rounded or "flatter" than it's predecessor and for those who want more bass in everything they listen to, they might be disappointed however if you want to listen to audio the way it was intended then these are better than the XM3's. I have actually tested these since I still have my XM3's and can confirm that the bass is naturally more pronounced than in the XM4's however I found that the sound overall was better and had more "room" along with detail in the XM4's. Going back to the XM3's after listening to the XM4's sounded more muddy and crowded in my opinion as well. Another perk is that these can now connect to 2 devices at once in the Sony companion app and if you do like more bass in your music in general, you can tweak the EQ, but at that point you might as well buy the XM3's which is still a great buy compared to other headphones around the same price tag.

    After much search and research I decided to buy and keep this headphones. Balanced sound, the major sell point is its battery life, i can go over 24 hours with it without needing recharge. Noise cancellation works amazingly. The sound though, it is good but not the greatest (because the sound is balanced). To make the sound great you have to use an equalizer.

    Truly noise canceling and super comfortable for extended periods of use. Earbuds don’t stay in my ears and on ear headphones hurt after a while with a mask and glasses behind the ears so over the ear was a perfect solution! The sound is incredible and the noise canceling is amazing. I get caught up in my own world and don’t get distracted by things going on around me!

    Very good headphones. You will definitely need to use the app to get the most out of them, and it can take a while to find the best settings for you, but overall the sound quality and battery life are excellent.

    I adore these. Super comfy lasts for days of occasional listening or about two ish days of almost non stop listening. I really like the app and the different sound profiles that are premade and available. The noise canceling is amazing also. It’s not 100% but it sure tries its hardest to give it to you.

    I read a lot of reviews before purchasing the xm4 headset. I am very happy with these. I am not a music expert but I know what I like being of the older generation. I amazed by the noise cancelation, sound and battery life of the unit. The one problem is after a couple of hours having the on my ear start to sweat so I take them off.

    Noise cancelling is amazing! Comfort is also great, but the ears can get hot a couple hours in. Touch control can be a bit finicky, I had to exchange mine out for a replacement, but it worked ok after that. I hate having to adjust the headband slider every time I put them back in the case, since I use the case often, but that's just being nitpicky. Great headphones!

    I recently purchased a pair of the new Bose Quiet Comfort headphones and returned them for these. They didnt compare at all when it came to style, functionality, sound, and features. The Sonys have a built in assistant that can be accessed at the touch of a button which could be used with Google or Alexa. They have a unique feature to hear your surroundings by holding the outter side of the headphone. The app has countless settings to fully customize them to your liking. And even a feature to capture a photo of your own ear to get the best sound possible. I noticed the headphones are also scratch resistant and stay clean for the most part. Every other pair of headphones that ive worn, ended up with scratches and blemishes shortly after purchase. The case included is protective and functional. The right ear side has hand gesture functions that help you amswer calls, end calls, skip songs, and change volume. Which does take some getting used to. I personally recommend these to anyone. I can finally be heard with ease on my calls without too much background noise. You can't go wrong with this purchase.

    The sound quality is great, but the design is beautiful and has a nice weight into it. the sound leaks. Love that it has NFC makes it easy to connect!
