The best keep getting better

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have now had the XM2, XM3 and now the XM4 models of these headphones and they never fail to impress me. It is hard to make them a lot better for sound quality and comfort but Sony adds mild tweaks every model to make them that much better. The noise cancelling is fantastic. We just got back from an airplane trip to Florida and when we got off the plane my wife said "Wow, that kid behind us was annoying" and I said what kid? Never heard them. Pros: Sound quality. Very even and balanced and if you have personal preferences you can manage that on the EQ in the app. Bluetooth range and pairing. Easy to pair range at least 30 feet even thru walls Comfort. They do seal around the ears well and after a long wearing period I do get some "ear sweats" but they are never uncomfortable. Noise cancelling is superb Able to cup your hand over right earcup to hear someone talking to you. Sensor that detects when you remove the headphones and pauses the music. (new for XM4) Adjusts noise cancelling depending on what environment you are in. Very intuitive and easy to use app for adjustments and tweaks. Case is well built and looks classy and they do hold up well. Cons: The only thing I can say I do not care for is the speech recognition that pauses the music when you speak. If you just clear your throat the music will pause but it can be easily turned off in the app. If you are looking for a pair of high end headphones with noise cancelling I cannot recommend these enough. You will not be disappointed.

She absolutely loves them and uses 3-4 a week. She says the bass thumps and its very clear. She likes being able to put her hand over the earmuff and for the noise cancellation to stop. The sound she says is great and she plans to use these for years to come.

Super comfy, the features are great and the sound is BOOMING! Very clear!!! I also use them as a gaming headset with the aux, perfect!!!! I traded in the WF-1000XM4 earbuds for these, I really loved the size of the earbuds and the sound, but my ears just aren’t meant to put things in as I had discomfort after only an hour, there’s no discomfort with over the ear!

Great set of active noise cancelling headphones

Larger than average sized head and felt great during 11 hour flight. Noise cancellation works well and sound quality is excellent. Sony’s version of Apple’s transparency mode doesn’t work quite as well, but at nearly half the cost I see no reason to splurge for the AirPod Max headphones over these.

No head soreness

These are the best headphones I've ever had. Battery life is better than I've had, wear them at night for 6-7 hours and battery usage has only gone down from 100% to 80%. Sound is outstanding.

Best pair of over the ear wireless headphones

As a musician and producer, I have to give credit to Sony on this pair of headphones. The sound is phenomenal and the noise canceling works great. The frequency response is great and I like the app you can adjust specific frequencies if you want to change how they sound. The battery life is super great. It was worth it.

Best Headphones on the Market for the Price

Sound quality is and bass on the XM4's is better as well. Good for the type of music I listen to and I love that they give you an equalizer to really fine tune to your preference, Touch controls took some getting used to but work great and really give the headphones a nice look.

Comfortable on my ears and no headaches from 2-3hours of use. Easy to use. I’m not an audiophile but the sound and ability to customize the settings via app allowed me to enjoy my podcasts and music without any disappointments. Sound really good but possible glitch

Took back first pair because of this and the replacement did the same thing. So if they’re all like this, be careful when first turning on music after powering on headphones. Not sure is these split seconds of high volumes will damage headphones. Turning down the volume all the way after powering on doesn’t fix issue either. As soon as I first press play after powering on, that’s when the volume is way too high. And unfortunately, I have to press play in order to lower the volume.
