Turned on? Oh my goodness. Fired up the "Blade Runner" vinyl and quickly had my mind blown. The Sony Headphones app is great and easily allows you to connect to devices, update firmware, EQ and more. I would give this an extra star if I could.

Good, not Great

I really like when I can hear the drumsticks taping the symbols. These headphones sound really good, but to my ears, they don't let me hear individual instruments so well. I returned them and are still searching. Wish I still had my old Radio Shack Realistic headphones from the 70's.

The hires audio sounds I'm able to get via bluetooth are fantastic. I did purchase the adapters for both USB-C and Apple Lightning so I could hardwire to either my iPad Pro or the Apple iPhone 13 Pro but I'm honestly not sure its needed.

My TV wouldn't turn up the volume high enough for my liking so I use an aux chord to my controller. I use the dolby atmos app on my Xbox and it really brought these headphones to life. It makes games and movies sound much more full and dynamic. Using them on my phone is flawless. Music sounds fantastic and podcast sound rich. The app is easy to use and I like that you can adjust the eq settings. The noise canceling works great too!

I had the originals and decided to upgrade to the Mk 4s. The noise cancellation is amazing. I can sit right next to a window air conditioner and hear nothing but silence. Sound quality is very good in most aspects. The bass is a little heavy at low volume and a little light at very high volumes, but overall it's still pleasing. The speak to talk feature is clever. And the ability to focus on voices and filter out other sounds works better than I expected. All in all, I'm pleased.

However, when I do use them, they’re a NOISE CANCELLATION life saver. I honestly would recommend these over the AirPod pro max. Not only for price, but quality of sound not brand. Sound quality is unmatched and the noise canceling aspect is amazing. I dont even have to turn them on at times. Ive worn then on a plane a while back for noise cancelling and to habe a bit of pressure releif and it honestly helped alot.

Bluetooth connectivity is not stable - if you walk around it disconnects and even if you sit, it disconnects from Samsung TV and your show sound becomes distorted. From sound quality point of view, it is much better than Bose QC45 and Sony XM3. But if we consider Bluetooth connectivity, it is not as good as QC45.

It's finally the time to upgrade! The Mark 4 has excellent sound quality and NC capabilities. I bought these to replace my Beats Studios from 2011 after they finally kicked the bucket and everything is a huge upgrade. The ANC, features in the app, auto pause, two devices at once, ambient sound when talking to anyone. I could go on an on but they aree perfect for my needs as a software developer working from home. I would recommend these to anyone as these are the best headphones I have ever owned.
