||Posted . Great purchase
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these in anticipation of a long overseas flight. Got them on sale at the low price end of quality noise canceling headphones. What a bargain. Tried them out immediately and they instantly quieted the sound of my overhead fans and general house noises even before playing anything through them. I found the initial sound profile for music a bit less than I hoped, but the software includes equalizer adjustments along with a few preset choices. I changed to the 'Bright' setting and was more than satisfied with the sound after that. Clear distinct sound with good range and more than adequate base for my taste. I took them out to my patio with my air condition nearby and train noise a few blocks away. They disappeared almost comlpetely even with my music at low volume. I've gone through a variety of musical styles and found the sound to be very good across the entire range, soft ambient to full blown rock. Battery life is great. I've listened for hours and haven't had to recharge yet. The Bluetooth connection has worked flawlessly. I find them comfortable, even for long stretches. Can't think of anything I don't like. One of the best things I've bought.

Best headphones
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best headphones I've ever bought. I also have the XM3, and while I think the noise cancelling is better with that headset, everything else about this one is superior. It's lighter on the head. Sound quality is amazing. The touch controls seem to work better. Battery life is phenomenal, I wear this thing for hours at a time and it'll go about a week or so before I need to charge it. Been using it for almost a year now, have had no issues whatsoever. If I have a gripe, it's that the built-in microphone doesn't work with PC at all, which is a bummer, and if I want to configure something or update the firmware I need to use the mobile app and connect the headset to my phone, but I haven't felt like I needed to so it's not that big a deal. I use this for gaming on my PC and attach an Antlion mod mic to the side of it (because the built-in mic doesn't work with PC). Gaming headsets in this price range pale in comparison. It's got simulated surround sound so I can accurately hear where enemies or other sounds are coming from. I don't have to download proprietary software and mess with an equalizer to get clear audio out if it like I did with my LG and Corsair headsets, though if you want to there is a mobile app where you can do that. It's lightweight and I can wear it comfortably with glasses for hours and it doesn't even feel like it's there. 100% would recommend this over any other gaming-focused headsets.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headphones arent too heavy or too light it feels good. and the cushions r very soft to feel with my hands but I'm not sure if its just me but having them on for too long my ears start hurting, not because of the pressure or anything but because the cushions are too small. comparing it to other headphones they have larger cushions. The color is very cute, I was already aware they weren't the white color and are grey and I love the grey. The connection for these headphones are so ragebaiting it pmo. Through the app you can choose to connect to two devices and sometimes it works very well then other times it just doesnt work at all and takes forever. Also, when I first bought it I used it for my pc as well as my other devices but now I use different headphones for my pc because the sony headphones they first, take so long to connect and when they do they often bug out and lag, then when I connect it with wire, it sounds way better than bluetooth but has SO MUCH STATIC. its insane, so i just stopped using the plugged in version, it hurts my ears. over all its good headphones compared to rip off ones I used before the good parts, theres custom noise cancelling for each enviornment you're in by holding down custom button it's alright noise cancelling, if its super loud ofc it wont cancel everything out the music sound quality is pretty good in my opinion overall I dont regret buying it

Posted .Thank you for your detailed and honest review, HaileyC!
We are happy to hear that overall, the WH-1000XM4 provides good music sound quality, soft cushions, and effective custom noise cancelling. We also love that you are enjoying the grey color!
We sincerely apologize for the comfort issues, as we understand the ear cushions can feel too small for some users after long hours. We also regret the significant frustrations you are having with unstable multi-point connection and especially the severe issues with your PC: long connection times, bugging/lagging via Bluetooth, and the insane static when using the wired connection.
To address the static, please try using a different cable or audio port on your PC, as this often indicates a cable or port issue. For PC Bluetooth lag, ensure you are connected to the "Stereo" profile, not the "Hands-Free" profile.
We are committed to helping you resolve these technical issues to improve your experience. If the issue persists, please contact our support team for further troubleshooting. You can find contact options here: https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US&category=headphones

Honest reviews : Beats Studio Pro edition
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After wearing a multitude of headphones for well over a decade now, Beats has always been a strong brand. I purchased this with the intent of having a multi purpose headphones for general use. Whether it be at home or at the gym, it’s definitely reliable. When you first put it on, it’s comfortable although after a while you want to give your ears a break from the pressure on your ear. As far as audio quality goes, it’s what you’d expect from a Beats brand headphones. If your device is DOLBY ATMOS compatible, I do recommend turning it on to immerse yourself to the deep and heavy bass it provides with the noise cancellation. Helps you get in the zone! Battery life is standard but love that it is a USB-C recharge as most of my devices (minus my iPhone) use the same. Overall, very worth the price!

SONY beats BOSE
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to do am "in-store" comparison between the Bose QC 35 I have owned for about the last 2 years and the Sony WH-1000XM4. Unfortunately, the demo station in the branch nearest to where I live, never had the demo model set up properly and, besides, I wouldn't be able to compare the same music. Well, now that I have bought a pair of these great headphones and have finally done an "in-home" comparison, listening to the same song, I can truthfully say that this Sony model is superior to the Bose QC 35. While the Bose model has produced very good sound and the noise cancellation has been excellent, the bass on the Sony is much stronger and the overall clarity of the music is noticeably sharper. Also, the Sony app provides a much superior Equalizer experience for customizing your own settings, allowing you to set up TWO custom pre-sets. The Sony even feels more comfortable than the Bose which wasn't ever UN-comfortable. The Sony just feels "softer" and "lighter" by a small margin. The Sony app even allows a more custom fit by allowing you to measure your ears using photos you take. Until recently, BB was carrying the previous model, the Sony - WH -1000XM3 but this has been, I'm guessing, phased out for the slightly more advanced XM4 released by Sony in 2020. My needs for using this headphone are very basic. I don;t really use the voice or phonecall feaures, so I'm not in a position to state how well that works. I did use the volume feature on the right earcup, (no button, you simply raise or lower the volume by running your finger vertically up or down the earcup exterior), and that worked fine and the connection between the Sony app and the headphones paired effortlessly. All in all, I'd say that, soundwise, (especially because I like extra bass), these are superior to the Bose QC 35, and are worth the price if you want the more expensive noise cancellation headphone experience.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TLDR in advance: try it on in store before you purchase to make sure it fits. Good for big ears. Better sound than the bose imho. Tried in store before I purchased. To me they sounded better than the bose quiet comfort 45 which was the only real competition. They also fit over my ears better because I have big ears. I also have been accused of having a big head and these weren't too tight. A friend of mine with a much smaller head and smaller ears said it felt huge on her head so its not sized for everyone. I recommend trying it in store. Noise canceling is good. Obviously it's not shooting range good but if the world around you is too noisy putting them on helps block out the noise. Probably shouldn't use the noise canceling while attending children for safety reasons because odds are you won't hear them screaming from the next room over. ;) That being said you will probably hear them screaming in the same room it will just be dulled. You can also turn off the noise canceling. Some of the gimmick features are cool but most people won't use them. Like immersive 360 sound for some subscription based music services (Not spotify). It sounds cool but im not paying a monthly fee for one music source to sound better. Especially when all the others still sound pretty good. The feature to temporarily hear your surroundings when noise canceling is active was also cool but odds are you won't use it often if at all. Overall they're cool noise canceling headphones that sound good. The app works on andoid well but I didn't do any testing with an iphone. Price is a little high but would recommend.

||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TL;DR: I really enjoy these and would recommend them to someone in the market for new headphones. -- ***********USE*********** Study, work, meditation. ***********COMFORT*********** I have a big head. The SONY WH1000XM4 fit great. When I am working at a desk or moving around at work, they fit comfortably and snug enough to make sure they aren't falling off. However, I don't know if these would be great for more strenuous activity--I can't see myself going for a run or doing a workout with these. I've used Audio Technica and Beats in the past. The Audio Technicas fit well and were comfortable, but the padding wore out fairly quickly. The Beats were free from a work event. I don't think I'd ever find myself buying them. They never fit Noise Cancelling: The noise cancelling is a great feature for study, work, or meditation. I am unsure if I've used the ambient sound settings; generally when I'm using these, I'm in a space where ambient sounds are pretty calm [libraries, coffee shops]. -- ***********SOUND QUALITY*********** No complaints. Everything is clear and sounds great. There are equalizers you can use in the SONY CONNECT/Sound Connect. -- ***********CONSTRUCTION*********** Seems to be pretty great as well. I don' throw these around or really abuse them. I use them, clean them up, and pop them back in the case when I'm done. -- ***********BATTERY LIFE*********** No complaints on that front. Admittedly, I haven't been using them as frequently recently. I think since buying them I've had to charge them four or five times. They seem to hold a charge fairly well when not in use. I think there's been one day so far that I've killed them during use--but I'm sure they weren't at a full charge when I started using them. ***********COMPLAINTS************** I find the swipe features [volume, skip, etc] difficult to use. Sometimes if I move my head enough I'll pause or skip songs inadvertently. Not a huge deal because I'm generally listening from my phone. Easy enough to manage things through that. It took me a minute to figure out charging as well. I generally charge these off of my laptop. Has to be open, on, and plugged in. If my computer goes into sleep mode, charging stops. This could entirely be an operator error. I haven't looked into it as it hasn't been to much of a damper on my use. Connectivity was problematic at first, too. I was using an iPhone 10 when I first got these. After downloading [at the time] SONY Connect, I struggled to get the headphones and my phone to connect. Took about thirty minutes and a handful of tries. I've since upgraded to a newer iPhone and downloaded the new app [Sound Connect, available through the App store on iPhone]. I haven't had any issues with connectivity since the updates.

Great headphones!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely love these headphones. I'm no audiophile, but I love the sound and the noise cancelling is great. The over-ear is extremely comfortable. I've worn them for 6+ hours for the last month or so and have loved them. They hold a solid charge, I maybe charge them once or twice a week. Being able to connect to two devices at once is also a huge bonus because I can easily swap from my phone to my laptop. Only negatives is that sometimes the band at the top weighs down on my head so I need to shift it around. Also, if you are someone who easily gets carsick/vertigo, you might have to adjust to such strong noise cancelling. At first I would feel nauseous but after about a week, I didn't have any other issues with nausea. You can turn the noise cancelling off in the Sony app if it's an issue so you can ease yourself in to using the ANC all the time.

Worth all the hype? Yup!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I grabbed these on sale on 3.8.22. There was so much hype surrounding these, so I pulled the trigger. I can honestly give a review after owning them for 17 days! My taste in music ranges from bands like Rotting Christ, Behemoth, Slayer and in a flash, I can go to Frank Sinatra. Yes, I know it's a great range in genre, but these headphones keep me happy. I don't find them to be too bass happy or treble happy, but I would rather call them neutral sounding. I'm not an audiophile, but I can't find any issues with these at all. The Sony app works just fine on my S22 Ultra and it gives the ability to tweak the EQ where I want it. They are very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. The noise cancelling feature is quite nice compared to my Bose QC 25's. I don't feel the pressure on my ears that I do with my Bose. Battery life thus far has been good. The longest I have had them on (on and off to be honest but still powered on) was when washing my two vehicles and my motorcycle and still had a ton of battery left. Estimated time I used them was about 6 hours. I love the color as well; the blue is very nicely done, and the picture doesn't do it any justice. The only complaint is the USB C cable is so short! I have a charging station for all my devices and the included cable is too small. I suppose if you are using your laptop and need a quick charge, the size of the cable would be fine. Are these worth the hype? In my opinion they are and if you can wait for a sale, grab them!

Great quality headphones
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these headphones to replace my Bose QC15's which have finally worn out. I considered these and the Bose QC35 II's, the QC45's and the 700's. On sale for Black Friday, these were just a bit cheaper than the comparable headphones, the 45's and the 700's. For me they were also just a bit more comfortable, and the noise cancelling gave me more options. I hate the look of the 700's, and the Sony worked just a bit better than the 45's. I have a doctorate in music performance, so I am judging the noise cancelling on how well it does, and these really block almost everything, and how they sound. The fidelity to the sound is very high. Plugged into my phone or computer, the volume setting needs to be almost at the lowest and is still super clear. Can't yet imagine these at the airport! I love the color (midnight blue)! It's just a bit lighter, and different from, the typical black, and it's also not white or silver. Nothing wrong with the colors Sony has chosen, but I wanted something that didn't scream out for notice, but was still not black. These headphones work great with just the cable, not even using the noise cancelling, and the charge lasts a long time, and I'm not even using a battery that I have to remember to replace. I should have upgraded a long time ago, but I may not have considered Sony's headphones back then. I don't know if these are the best noise cancelling headphones on the market, but all my searches compared these with different Bose models. I am very pleased with this purchase, and I can't recommend them heartily enough!

Awesome Headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Headphones Are Seriously Next Level If you’re hunting for a pair of headphones that offer both premium sound and top-tier comfort, stop scrolling you’ve just found them. I’ve been using these headphones for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly blown away. The audio quality is nothing short of amazing—crisp highs, deep bass, and a balanced midrange that makes every genre sound incredible. Whether I’m zoning out to some ambient tracks or blasting my workout playlist, they never miss a beat. Noise-cancellation? Unreal. It cuts out background noise so effectively that it feels like I’m in my own personal sound bubble. Perfect for travel, noisy offices, or just some peace at home. Comfort-wise, I can wear these for hours without any fatigue. The ear cushions are soft and breathable, and the adjustable headband fits snugly. Bonus points for: • Sleek, minimal design • Easy touch controls • Seamless Bluetooth pairing If you’re serious about sound and want a hassle-free wireless experience, these headphones are absolutely worth the investment. They’re not cheap, but you get what you pay for and then some.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sennheiser Momentum Wireless headphones are the headphones I didn’t realize I was missing. The headphones has up to 60 hrs of battery life, wireless, feels lightweight during wear and offers customizable sound such as bass and treble etc. the headphones also offers fairly good noise cancellation features. My previous wired headphones were manufactured by Bose; but these Sennheiser headphones has simply blowed them away in all things that factor such as sound, customization, and fingertip controls. I’ve been contemplating upgrading to these headphones and I am glad I have. Additional customization is available via their app which also provides quick tips and and settings. Overall, great musical experience and value.

Love
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely in love with these headphones. They're pricey but worth it. The sound is amazing and the noise cancellation is great. I can wear these for a long period without my ear hurting, which is honestly a huge plus. I assumed they were going to be heavy but they actually aren't. Another thing is the battery, I charge these once a week or two.

Excellent for music, movies, and conference calls
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headphone is excellent and completely surpassed my expectations, and I say this having used the Bose 700. The EQ is great for adjusting the sound quality and the battery life is definitely very long and will last even longer if you turn noise canceling off. The noise cancelling works very well. Note that it isn't complete silent, but it might as well be silent when you have music playing. The ambient mode is handy for hearing the outside world when someone is talking to you. More on the noise canceling, at first when you use it, it might not work very well. That's normal. If you calibrate the noise canceling through the Sony app, however, it will drastically improve the noise cancellation quality. I notice many people were not aware you could do this. I also find myself enjoying the Speak-to-Chat mode more than I thought I would. It's a feature that automatically pauses the music when you talk to someone and turns back on after certain amount of seconds that you can set through the app. I'm also happy that you don't have to use this in wireless mode if for example you have a device that doesn't support bluetooth or if you wanted to save on battery. My only complaint is that the splitter isn't flexible. The mic and audio connectors are split via a solid block, so unless you have a mic/audio port at exactly the same width apart as the splitter, it's not going to work. I had to buy a separate splitter, which fortunately is cheap off Amazon. The USB-C charger is nice, but the provided cable is very, very short. Maybe like 4-5 inches long at most. Fortunately, most of my devices were already USB-C, allowing me to use their connectors instead for charging. For others who don't already have a USB-C cable, this might be annoying. Connecting via bluetooth wasn't difficult. And I enjoy that you can connect to two different devices at the same time. The app Sony provides makes it easy to switch between your connections. You also can pair your headphone with your phone via NFC if your phone supports it. Just hold your phone next to the headset and it should request pairing right away. The headset comes with a single "Custom" button, but it's very limiting as you can only set it to Google Assistant, Alexa, or Noise canceling/Ambient Sound control. Now, the part that a lot of people will likely (and have) complain about is there not being any volume controller. I don't mean that this headset doesn't have one (because it does), but that people don't realize that there is one. If you read the manual carefully, you'll learn that this headset actually makes use of gestures on the right side of the headset. Using a finger, if you stroke the right speaker cup up/down, it'll adjust the volume. Sideway strokes skips to prev/next song. Double tapping it plays/pauses the song. You'll hear a "beep" if your gesture is successful. Personally, I think this is great as it keeps the headset having a nice clean simplistic look while still offering great functionality. My biggest complaint is the calling mode. Calling sounds clear enough and works great when you use it on the phone, but it sounds terrible when you use it on PC. It's because on the PC, when you want to use it for Skype/Discord/MS Teams or whatever, it has to use the AG Hands Free audio mode. In this mode, the sound you hear is like listening on a phone call, which is perfectly fine for conference calls but terrible for online gaming. The normal audio mode, however, still sounds great on PC for music/movies/solo gaming. It would have been better to separate out the microphone input and the speaker output so you can have microphone AND normal sounding audio. Maybe it does when using the wired mode, I haven't tested to say. Overall, if you were planning on using this as a possible online gaming headset, don't. If you were planning to use this headset for music, movies, solo gaming, or conference calls, however, this is really great for that. Finally, I thought this headset was going to feel incredibly large like my HyperX gaming headset. It feels surprisingly small and light. I can wear it walking around and not feel like I'm going to attract awkward attention for having a giant thing on my head.

Pretty Close to Perfect
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By now, you've probably read all the reviews in the industry press and a bunch of reviews from people who own these, and all of them tell you that these are the best wireless, noise canceling headphones you can buy in 2021. Believe everything you've read and go ahead and purchase these with confidence!! - The noise cancelling is so good it's almost disorienting at first! - The sound stage is detailed and relatively neutral with nothing being artificially hyped. AND if you want to alter things to better suit your taste, the SONY Headphones app lets you adjust the EQ (and many other features) to your hearts content. - They are incredibly comfortable to wear for l-o-n-g periods of time and the battery life is nothing short of phenomenal. I'm going nearly a full week between charges and I'm using them alot! - They use SONY's LDAC codec for near lossless streaming of tunes over Bluetooth, contributing to their amazing sound. This Codec is supported on all of the Android devices I own but it's not supported in Windows - that is literally the only disappointing thing about these headphones though and in reality, it's a small quibble. - They can pair to multiple devices simultaneously - so you can listen to music on your computer for example, and seamlessly switch to your phone to answer an incoming call for example - a really handy feature! I could list many other really nice things about these headphones but at this point, I think I'd suggest that you stop reading and go buy them. You'll be mighty happy that you did!!
